Too bad the US Govt didn't have a lab to better investigate "a non-toxic defoliant". Military people were ordered to work with Agent Orange and deliver it. And they saluted smartly and did. But eventually, the negligence of the Govt became known. A lot of people got sick, a lot died, and a lot of taxpayer money was spent in the process. Just because the military CAN order something doesn't mean they should.8 points

The amount of blind faith you have in a large bureaucratic gov who repeatedly proves to not have your best interest in mind, and have no consequences even when caught, is astounding.6 points

Really?…. Given what we know about the first series Anthrax vaccines which were never FDA approved… or the malaria meds that caused brain damage… The fact the military was a major contributor to the opioid epidemic with how it was handed out as the simple solution. You realize that the Go pill used to just be straight Aderol right? They changed the cocktail after the understanding of what Dex did to you expanded. You wanna go back a few decades ago you’ll find plenty of hindsight to justify some reservation that suddenly today the people at the department of no long lasting responsibility might just be phoning in another one. ****pauses to take a sip from the tap in housing ***** We’ve got a pretty decent set of historical lessons learned on why “shut up and take this pill” shouldn’t be the go to for a disease that had prior to the vaccine literally led to the death of tens of service members. We didn’t force our people to get the vax to protect them. We did it because we can’t move our people freely through global commitments with a whole host of countries requiring it as part of the access requirements. If leadership could come out and say that it would go a long way to actually making us believe they had our interest in their mind when they made the decision to force it. Instead it’s the typical “because I said so” justification, because science. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk6 points

I see very few people on here defending Trump, most have said they want him to go away. That being said believe whatever you want about his morale character but there has never been a time when the entire system unfairly aligned against a sitting president, not because he did something wrong but because they didn't like him. Partisan dirty politics is one thing but when the free press pushes false narratives, cheers for failure and ACTIVELY suppresses stories like the laptop then we have another situation. And when the FBI and the U.S. Intelligence apparatus acts on behalf one one political party we should all be outraged and demand change. Yes I am happy to flush Trump, but I also want to flush the crooks on the other side and you should too.5 points

Honestly after the gross negligence fuckery displayed over the last couple years, no, covid vax is not the end of my suspicions and questions. Adapt to new information and change your approach, or keep your head shoved up your happy ass and continue trucking towards the proverbial cliff.2 points

I guess. I’m pretty indifferent about the vax but some of y’all are just as bad attacking the vax as your meme about people defending it.2 points

Hey Peach! Congratulations on your selection - that is a very big deal!! And definitely go take that airline job. More than likely OTS and UPT are well over a year away, so your probation year will be over, however, even if it wasn’t, they can’t fire you for being on military orders, even as a probie. USERRA applies to every member of the guard and reserve, the day you swear in. We all had a guard guy or two in our UPT class who would tell us all how much their seniority has climbed while at UPT, and we all sat there listening, green with envy. You are NOT taking advantage of your airline by serving your country. Get that out of your head immediately. Trust me, your airline will gladly take advantage of you as you are sitting reserve for them. Do not bring up your guard selection unless they ask. Unless you’re working for the smallest airline on earth, they already have hundreds of guard pilots on their roster and will not even notice your absence for a few years. Then you show back up and Viola - you’re a line holder or ready to upgrade to Captain! Welcome aboard.1 point

You're questioning big pharma AND the FDA. Which makes me ask again... is it only the covid vaccines you're suspicious of, or do you do a deep dive on every person who ever had a reaction to ibuprofen when the flight doc gives you Motrin? And I'm providing the guidance laid out by SECDEF...get vaccinated, or get out of the program.1 point

Years ago I had them for my primary and one of my rentals in Florida. They sent notice that they were cancelling my rental coverage in six months. Two funny events followed: 1. I immediately found another company for the rental, at a lower rate. I called USAA to cancel early and they pushed back. They also insisted I provide a copy of the new coverage AND the rate I was paying. The house was paid off and they had ZERO right to know that data so a nice argument ensued on the phone with a very pushy agent. I got nasty, told them to fuck off and cancel my coverage. 2. After the event above I wrote a note saying I was going to move all of my investments out of USAA. I actually got a call about a week later from a VP on the investment side telling me there was nothing they could do about it. I told him I appreciate the call and FYI I will move everything out of USAA next month to which he actually chuckled and replied "we hope you won't do that." The next week I moved a very substantial portfolio from USAA to Morgan Stanley. A few days later that same VP called me and was incredulous, "you moved everything out of USAA, why would you do that?" I then chuckled and said " I told you in my note I was going to do it, I told you on the phone I was going to do it and you are shocked I did it, seriously?" He tried to give me a list of reasons to come back and I hung up on him.1 point

Targeting pod is a nice touch. I’m sure there is a pallet of hate you can roll out the back/side on someone’s .ppt slide somewhere. As someone already mentioned, where does tactical and strategic/enabling/mobility mesh or separate? ex: AFSOC MC’s and USMC Harvest Hawk. Interesting discussion here IRT Agile, big wing Vs “other” tanker assets. Navy guy here learning still. I was fortunate enough to cruise with an Airwing of legacy platforms that could go forward and execute with organic tanking only. I then watched that degrade until one day sitting on the flight deck I look up at the Big-Wing above Mom knowing without her, we can’t execute the plan I had on my knee board. ATIS1 point

Somewhat related, and taking from the article at the beginning of the thread: L3Harris and Embraer seems to be a strange pair-up. Safe to say that the L3/Embraer combination is a result of the planned Boeing / Embraer partnership falling apart in the wake of Covid? As late as Nov 2019, Boeing was touting their work to jointly develop new markets for the C-390. Seems logical that, had the twin challenges of Covid and the Max not occurred, it would be the Boeing / Embraer KC-390? Assumedly taking advantage of Boeing's refueling boom technology? Curious what L3 has next up their sleeve.1 point

There was at the time. Even if it didn't kill you, CDC was recommending 10 days of isolation. Not to mention isolating close contacts for a week. Then there are the political considerations. Not the left-right politics... the politics of being able to move US military members into countries with full-on vaccine mandates for travelers. Sure, you could probably seek a waiver, but that's all time and effort you don't want to spend when you're scrambling to rapidly deploy assets across the globe. Do I think we could drop it now? Probably. Do I think people still refusing the vaccine over something petty like the wrong brand name are more likely to be troublemakers than people with actual sincere beliefs? Absolutely. Gonna be a moot point as this crop separates and/or retires. Current recruiting guidance is no vaccine, no enlistment/ commission. AFROTC won't even consider unvaccinated cadets for a commissioning slot. They can participate the first two years, then be on their way.1 point

There was a formal RFI for KC-Y and posturing by USAF and AMC to just buy more legacy tankers. That COA hit a brick wall in August and they now plan to focus on KC-Z. My guess is that a lot of key USAF leadership changed including Mini. The new leadership wants to disrupt and by shifting to KC-Z they work towards a family of systems that better addresses the present and future needs. That shift is reflected in plans to conduct an AOA in 2024 which will focus on and accelerate KC-Z. Anything is possible but my guess is no. The advocacy for Scorpion and LAE came from an insurgency inside USAF. The only reason we had the multiple rounds of "experimentation" was congressional insistence from people like John McCain. The USAF strategy was obvious, string it along and wait out McCain and they did. Despite funding and planning for 300 aircraft, USAF managed a few on the margins that they now want to give away. Tankers are different, they not only enable the big shiny toys like F-22/F-35/B-2 and the future golden watches like B-21/NGAD, but they are absolutely essential in the INDOCPACOM CONOP. Keep in mind the INDOPACOM CONOP has been USAF's battle cry for funding for the last 15 years. Now that everyone in the building believes we will scrap with China by a certain date, you will see more and more of the budget lean into that effort.1 point

You. Be sure to post links and other evidence. Spend a few hours, I need to be really well convinced. /Sarc/ No. Ain't gonna waste time trying. I still don't understand why you defend a dishonorable, no integrity, ass hat. It's actually quite easy. Reach into your brain, and flush... twice as I'm sure that turd will try to cling to the bowl. There. Done. Gone. Now find a new champion. Then do it man. Just drop him and all his bullshit. Find a better person to support. ----------------- Anyway, I've said my piece, and peace. Just so you know where I stand, and I hope others as well, is Trump is done, don't want to see him in govt ever again. Biden is medically senile and should be replaced but Harris is incompetent. The Biden prop up machine, Easter Bunny included, can't sustain this. Ever see dementia progress? He's probably had micro strokes. I'm waiting for the press conference where Biden drops his pants. Anyway, thanks for the volleyball. Out-1 points
