  1. I heard it was murder, she wrote, before she died.

  2. As per usual the NYT got it WRONG. The bridge was actually attacked by a SOF team using a remote controlled boat that maneuvered a barge laden with a LOT of explosives into place under the bridge. Like their cousins at the NYT, Russia was quick to blame a truck bomb and even named the driver. Good story and analysis here. They even found the remote controlled boat afterwards.

  3. I still fail to understand the mandate outrage from military members. The military can literally order you on an ALR-extreme suicide mission in some bullshit war halfway around the world. Of course they don't have your best interests at heart. The military can mandate things about your fitness, alcohol consumption, drug use, grooming standards, and they can even put you in jail for things that are perfectly legal in the civilian world. And you signed up for it. No one made you. So if they need you to be vaxxed so the rotator doesnt get held up by a customs shitshow at your deployed location.. tough cookies. Do I think the mandates did anything? No. Do I trust the government or big pharma? Also No. Do I think the vaccine risks are zero? Also no. But the military mandated it for a multitude of reasons, some bad and some less bad. And in the grand scheme of things a 84% increase in a 0.01% chance of maybe getting myocarditis doesn't even register on the scale of things that are actual health dangers. Id believe the "my body is a temple" argument a lot more if it weren't for the bro-science pre-workout powder, twice-a-year cardio regimen, 7 shots at roll call, 3 monsters, and a pack of zyns per day. Because I promise all of those things are far worse for your heart.

  6. You're not wrong. IIRC the complaints about USAA correlate with when they started advertising.

  9. One guy had a pre-existing foot issue that resulted in him not being able to complete some ruck marches. Don’t know about the other guy. From what I was told (wasn’t personally in the rooms) Slife made it pretty clear that he wasn’t a fan of assessment/selection in general, prefers ACI as a concept. Slife had several problems with the 6th as an organization; this was just one of them.

  10. When you are actively shooting as much as 60k rounds of artillery a day, nobody currently has industrial capacity to maintain that. Buying ordnance from North Korean stockpiles isn’t a sign you have this going well for you logistically. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. So in one post you give information regarding oil production/refinery capabilities, and also say that it has to do with business decisions and not politics. But then I ask you if laws and/or rules/regulations affect business decisions and you say you don’t know because you’re not an oil expert. Ummm, ok. Good talk!

  13. I know a couple oil field experts… So discussion as to “why is big oil recording record profits…” comes from them making a deliberate effort to grow cash reserves that had been depleted over the last few years. A large driver in doing this is the expected drop in leasable well heads and lands to do exploratory drilling under the shift in administrations. The anticipation is that with lower leasable heads the price per well will jump and the company without the free cash to go after them will be left out of the dwindling available US market. The oil companies are literally planning for the rainy day that the admin is telegraphing is coming whether they like it or not, and we as consumers are paying for it. So yes, the President does have a hand in this along with OPEC, taxes by region, and supply lines and every other talking point issue on why gas costs so much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
