Saying the words multiple times doesn't make them the focus and context matters. Equity is mentioned 6 times, Inclusion is mentioned 6 times, the emphasis is clear. That's not true and you know it or you didn't actually read it. The entire "Strengthening Our Democracy" is about the election and aftermath, the wordsmiths just got creative so they wouldn't have to use the words. In the same section there is one mention of China and no mentions of Russia. Again, context and emphasis matter. No sure about dream big, but I read it. Overall I give it a C, there was an attempt to work in all the DIME instruments but the social and climate change goop dilutes this into a fairy tale. I am a knuckle-dragging mouth breather but I did note these other items. When reading you will note the first theme in his vision is Climate Change. He proceeds to countering authoritarian regimes but comes right back to Climate Change with this statement - "Of all of the shared problems we face, climate change is the greatest and potentially existential for all nations." I am sorry, Climate Change is an important issue but with Putin dropping threats to use tac nukes that could lead to Armageddon, I think there is a bigger threat to the survival of our country and mankind. In Climate Change section there is another "work of art" - "We have also experienced a global energy crisis driven by Russia’s weaponization of the oil and gas supplies it controls, exacerbated by OPEC’s management of its own supply." It is a fact that gas prices were WAY up BEFORE Putin invaded Ukraine. Also, there is a solution that makes us energy independent. I really enjoyed him throwing Clinton's vision under the bus "Fifth, we recognize that globalization has delivered immense benefits for the United States and the world but an adjustment is now required to cope with dramatic global changes such as widening inequality within and among countries" No Shit, this so called globalization outsourced a metric shit ton of American jobs and manufacturing...micro chips for all my friends. The section on modernizing and strengthening our military is capped off with his social agenda - "We will strengthen the effectiveness of the force by promoting diversity and inclusion; intensifying our suicide prevention efforts; eliminating the scourges of sexual assault, harassment, and other forms of violence, abuse, and discrimination;" The section on Climate and Energy Security is again nothing but social agenda. Again to quote "Events like Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine have made clear the urgent need to accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels." Not a single word about securing energy for America, just his agenda to shut down fossil fuels...an abhorrent fail IMHO.4 points

Do nuclear detonations count as instantaneous climate change? Or is that too much political spin?2 points

A quick search shows 9 hits for China, 46 for PRC, 71 for Russia, 2 for extremism, 6 for extremist, 1 for nationalism, 1 mention of the word white, in reference to “White House,” nothing about January 6th, 2 mentions of diversity and 2 of inclusion with regards to the military. You do get 20 instances of Climate Change, so congrats. So where did you come up with your premise? I’m no fan of the admin, but you’re either making up your own fake news, or parroting someone else’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

So there’s this whiny FGO in my squadron that seems like he doesn’t want to fly with me. I’m the DO, and I have a ‘go-fly’ list of people I want to fly with. I specifically ask Skeds to put us together, but every time we end up on the schedule together he takes “emergency” leave or says he can’t clear his ears. I’m pretty much the best pilot in the squadron, if not the wing, so I know I can show him a thing or two. When I talk to my life-size doll of Robin Olds, (that I keep in my office) his mustache speaks to me and says I should just smash his soul out of his body. Oh whatever should I do? These damn millennials…1 point

Dear Awesome Aviator, Have you tried the line out/fill in flight orders trick and add yourself at brief time? It's a great way to get to know another pilot and they would love to be surprised. Also, said FGO may to trying to avoid embarrassment... of you, so be sure to nail those awesome maneuvers of yours. Best of luck and happy drunk posting. Ann Fucking Landers1 point

It's literally one of the first results on Google, and not hard to understand: The Government Accountability Office said in a June report that it could take years to fix the tanker's telescoping boom, which has been described as "too stiff" for lighter aircraft to receive fuel. "The KC-46 boom currently requires more force to compress it sufficiently to maintain refueling position," the June 12 report states. "Pilots of lighter receiver aircraft, such as the A-10 and F-16, reported the need to use more power to move the boom forward while in contact with the boom to maintain refueling position. https://www.military.com/daily-news/2019/08/07/boeing-gets-millions-fix-air-forces-too-stiff-kc-46-refueling-boom.html1 point

Absolute HORSESHIT! The government mandated all civilian employees get the vaccine. The government mandated all employees of any company that has a government contract get the vaccine. It is one thing to force military members to get an experimental vaccine in the name of national defense and readiness, quite another force civilians and loosely related contractors. This was an enormous over-reach by some power hungry extremists.1 point

Was on Hollywood blvd this morning and almost every neighboring side street has tarps and tents with garbage and filth everywhere. I thought the homeless problem was being overblown by right wing media until I saw it in person.1 point

New National Security strategy Less than a paragraph on great power competition, China, and Russia. Most of it talks about “domestic extremism”, white nationalism, the Jan 6 “attacks”, diversity and inclusion. Even some Climate Change sprinkled in.1 point

I still fail to understand the mandate outrage from military members. The military can literally order you on an ALR-extreme suicide mission in some bullshit war halfway around the world. Of course they don't have your best interests at heart. The military can mandate things about your fitness, alcohol consumption, drug use, grooming standards, and they can even put you in jail for things that are perfectly legal in the civilian world. And you signed up for it. No one made you. So if they need you to be vaxxed so the rotator doesnt get held up by a customs shitshow at your deployed location.. tough cookies. Do I think the mandates did anything? No. Do I trust the government or big pharma? Also No. Do I think the vaccine risks are zero? Also no. But the military mandated it for a multitude of reasons, some bad and some less bad. And in the grand scheme of things a 84% increase in a 0.01% chance of maybe getting myocarditis doesn't even register on the scale of things that are actual health dangers. Id believe the "my body is a temple" argument a lot more if it weren't for the bro-science pre-workout powder, twice-a-year cardio regimen, 7 shots at roll call, 3 monsters, and a pack of zyns per day. Because I promise all of those things are far worse for your heart.1 point

SF deserves this. Perhaps, instead of enjoying the Blue Angels, they can enjoy staring at the formations of homeless people shitting on the sidewalks. I think it's funny how that place is literally turning into a pile of dung.1 point

As a former LM, i'd like to point out adding a boom to the back end of a cargo aircraft isn't trivial. Assuming it's a two-piece door like the C-17 and C-130 (ramp and cargo door), yeah theoretically you could add it to the cargo door, which opens up and into the upper fuselage; but obviously you'd have to have the fuel lines, necessary hydraulics/control wires etc. attached via flexible lines to the door, and still have enough clearance for the door to retract up against roof of the aft fuselage. I can't speak to the -130, but on the -17 that's not a whole lot of clearance up there, and the door is already used for ramp toe, cargo gate bar, roller tray and centerline seat stowages, along with other small items like the engine core hydraulic hand pump (if Mx actually put it away where it goes, and hasn't been lazy and left it strapped down on the cargo floor somewhere), engine covers, etc. And once the door is open, how far does the boom attachment protrusion stick down? You've now lost a bunch of vertical clearance for pallets, or vehicles driving up and over the ramp crest (which is why mil cargo aircraft have upward-bulged rear fuselages, so tall items like an 18-wheeler trailer or a Chinook helicopter or whatever have upwards room to clear when going across the ramp crest). The ramp, well on the -17 it's used as a loading and lifting surface (up to 40,000 lbs, and 4 pallet spots in Logistics bias, two in ADS), and there isn't much room to work with. The ramp is obviously intended to go down to the ground so if you somehow had a boom hanging off the bottom of it, it wouldn't be able to do that anymore, and even if it strictly went to horizontal for pallets only there still isn't a lot of clearance underneath, like 3 feet, plus you have the boom sticking out however far behind meaning a k-loader likely can't drive up to the back of the ramp for cargo transfer. Also you'd lose a point of ground egress as the ramp blowdown is somewhat negated now. Underneath the belly, between the mains yeah I suppose that's a possibility, it's just a low ground clearance (2-3 feet) as cargo planes typically sit low so they can be unloaded at truck bed height, unless you want to do a bunch of hydraulic jackscrew variable-height bullshit like a C-5 and then wonder why the fucker breaks all the time. The C-97 had a bomb-bay style cargo loading door at the aft fuselage, which looks like steep sketchy shit for loading vehicles, and for the KC-97s the boom pod and boom mount was a plug that went in, in lieu of those doors. Point of all this is I'd imagine the -390 is really similar to the -17 and -130, and I think the A400M is as well. Mil airlift moved away from the 4-5 door system of petal and bulkhead doors like in the -141, FRED, An-124 and Il-76 for a reason (and it's not like those would help in this situation), and other than manufacturer's concept art I don't think anyone has ever really put a boom on the back of a mil airlifter. It's not a casual undertaking, and I think once you've done that it's kind of a one-way street, hard to imagine it still being an effective airlifter anymore even if it's a secondary ability. Now that's all for the traditional boom grafted onto the aircraft approach. If you could have the whole tanker setup be a substantial palletized system, with the boom extending out through the cargo door/ramp opening and then down, and able to be entirely sucked back in to close those doors, that could work. But now you're depressurizing every time you give someone gas.1 point

Haha, you are 100% the toddler. You never explained what the problem actually is, you just keep saying stiffness sts. You don’t actually know what the issue is, you have apparently just rote memorized it which isn’t impressive.-1 points

If they work for a company that requires vaccines, that's not a government mandate. Same for hospitals - that's not a law, it's a hospital policy.-1 points
