  1. I just think we (all services) have somehow moved away from joint strategy and understanding how we interact in a combatant command, and now all our acquisition strategies seem to be very selfish. The whole public media fight between the AF COS and Army COS about long range precision fires was a good example of it. The Marine Corps wholesale abandoning where it fit in doctrine of being that midpoint between quick reaction and the long spin up of heavy forces being another. We seem to lack any desire for somebody to sit down and define a strategy of “what and where is our big fight, and how does that define what equipment we have and what we need to go get.” That’s going to get even more pronounced when the big budget axes start coming out and suddenly that thing a service bought in small quantity primarily to support another services capabilities goes away in favor of their own needs *cough JStars* *Cough C27* … oh excuse me… The Army is doing the same thing where it’s said “ok plan they can’t be there now” which makes all our stuff heavier as it’s taking more on and now we’ve made our transport and logistics problem even harder on ourselves. 2. I know but a proven road warrior is what I think we need to go with the theoretical KC-390 This would be an augmentation to the existing and more logistically needy fighter fleet (not a swipe at them) How to afford all this new iron? Divest H model Hercs, oldest F-16s and probably the A-10s (don't taze me for that) but if we wanna get ready to fight the next fight, we're gonna have to sign up some new players and retire others, we're not gonna get more appropriation

  3. Can’t imagine the AF would make drastic manning decisions before congress decides on divesting an airframe. That doesn’t sound realistic at all..

  4. No way he makes it to 2024. He will excuse himself from running for “health reasons”, he will go down as a folk hero for the dems as the dude who ousted Trump. Kamala will step aside citing reasons such as “racism and sexism” keeping her from doing her job, she will save face and go down another idol for the progressive and left. In comes Mayor Pete. Problem solved.

  5. Found this gem of a website..our very own US govt CPI inflation calculator...wonder what analysis of AvB will reveal: good, bad, ugly, or fair deal? Spun it twice, and it wasn't so nice. Have a try yourself!! (Oct 2021 vs Oct 2022 comparison, lost $2,558.54 in value) (Oct 2017 vs Oct 2022 comparison....the bonus would need to be presently $42.1k/year for parity...lost $7,115.27 in purchasing power and it hasn't been addressed..that's 20.3% of its original purchasing power) Background data/ref' here: FY2017 was when it was made $35k

  7. The thing that drives me nuts, is that he just says whatever he wants now - anything at all. No one questions it except Fox and the Post, he's just scary.

  9. The pure audacity... completely disconnected from reality and he has access to the nuke codes. Can't wait for our liberal forum members to roll in and defend this senile meatbag. Everything is fine, chew your cud citizen.

  10. Sure it’s possible, but why are you not going straight to applying for flying unit UPT boards? Either skip RPA entirely, or maybe consider it your backup gameplan and pull that trigger if/when UPT boards are not working out and you can’t stand waiting anymore/still have desire to serve.

  11. Do nuclear detonations count as instantaneous climate change? Or is that too much political spin?

  12. Saying the words multiple times doesn't make them the focus and context matters. Equity is mentioned 6 times, Inclusion is mentioned 6 times, the emphasis is clear. That's not true and you know it or you didn't actually read it. The entire "Strengthening Our Democracy" is about the election and aftermath, the wordsmiths just got creative so they wouldn't have to use the words. In the same section there is one mention of China and no mentions of Russia. Again, context and emphasis matter. No sure about dream big, but I read it. Overall I give it a C, there was an attempt to work in all the DIME instruments but the social and climate change goop dilutes this into a fairy tale. I am a knuckle-dragging mouth breather but I did note these other items. When reading you will note the first theme in his vision is Climate Change. He proceeds to countering authoritarian regimes but comes right back to Climate Change with this statement - "Of all of the shared problems we face, climate change is the greatest and potentially existential for all nations." I am sorry, Climate Change is an important issue but with Putin dropping threats to use tac nukes that could lead to Armageddon, I think there is a bigger threat to the survival of our country and mankind. In Climate Change section there is another "work of art" - "We have also experienced a global energy crisis driven by Russia’s weaponization of the oil and gas supplies it controls, exacerbated by OPEC’s management of its own supply." It is a fact that gas prices were WAY up BEFORE Putin invaded Ukraine. Also, there is a solution that makes us energy independent. I really enjoyed him throwing Clinton's vision under the bus "Fifth, we recognize that globalization has delivered immense benefits for the United States and the world but an adjustment is now required to cope with dramatic global changes such as widening inequality within and among countries" No Shit, this so called globalization outsourced a metric shit ton of American jobs and manufacturing...micro chips for all my friends. The section on modernizing and strengthening our military is capped off with his social agenda - "We will strengthen the effectiveness of the force by promoting diversity and inclusion; intensifying our suicide prevention efforts; eliminating the scourges of sexual assault, harassment, and other forms of violence, abuse, and discrimination;" The section on Climate and Energy Security is again nothing but social agenda. Again to quote "Events like Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine have made clear the urgent need to accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels." Not a single word about securing energy for America, just his agenda to shut down fossil fuels...an abhorrent fail IMHO.

  13. So there’s this whiny FGO in my squadron that seems like he doesn’t want to fly with me. I’m the DO, and I have a ‘go-fly’ list of people I want to fly with. I specifically ask Skeds to put us together, but every time we end up on the schedule together he takes “emergency” leave or says he can’t clear his ears. I’m pretty much the best pilot in the squadron, if not the wing, so I know I can show him a thing or two. When I talk to my life-size doll of Robin Olds, (that I keep in my office) his mustache speaks to me and says I should just smash his soul out of his body. Oh whatever should I do? These damn millennials…
