But why would they steal secrets from a country that is our biggest international trading partner? We aren’t in conflict with them…/s4 points

Or how about we reward their skills and preparation by giving them more solo flight time with the training blocks that would otherwise be flushed in a PA? Let’s not short students flight time and experience that is too low already.3 points

Who made that product and how do I get them to teach my unit Intel how to Intel? (Some are great; many turn written words into sounds.)3 points

In general, I think the PA thing is not a good idea. However, back in the day when dinosaurs ruled the earth, I was instructing a student that was a F-4G EWO. Took him out on his first ride in the T-38 and he was pretty much flying with little input from me. He earned an Excellent on the ride which is unheard of. Took him out on his second ride with the same results. I would have soloed him. I did catch grief from my flight commander because he was worried about showing grade progression. I said, "You fly with him" and he did and after the flight told me he agreed with me. But that was very rare. Most students need as much air time as they can get because plans rarely go as expected. If the VR world introduces the unexpected, I might buy that. However, nothing simulates the no kidding "I could get killed" criteria as the real jet which makes for serious judgement judging criteria.2 points

I read on Twitter the Su-25 punchout/SukaBlyat was in June, in Russia, training. Belgorod Oblast. Hit a power line. Hence the lollygagging. Also the orange parachute risers are apparently only used in the training environment. red= powerline blue= pond green= aircraft track. And marker is final location.2 points

If what I saw earlier today is what the AAL BODs is reviewing, then we're all likely screwed. Here's hoping it gets shot down.1 point

Nailed it. This is spin by the UK govt. Naïve to think the Chinese treated these guys as anything but potential "double agents".1 point

I didn’t fully clarify my statement. There were a ton of humble, willing to teach FAIPs there. They certainly outnumbered the minority I called out earlier. At the same time, though, that place was one of the weirdest installations and most toxic environments I have ever observed. I have never seen a more wrongfully entitled, borderline affluenza-like afflicted group of lieutenants in my life. You’d think these dudes flew night 1 of Desert Storm based on their attitudes and outward disdain to their future flight leads. Then again, I’m preaching to the choir. Thank you for your service.1 point

I’m betting be was never a UPT IP. Or if he was, definitely a Laughlin FAIP. Some of the biggest douchers with chips on their shoulders were to be found there.1 point

Boycotting Georgia over a voting bill that had nothing to do with him for one. (BTW, Georgia broke voting turnout records last week.) I know, I know...you'll say that's not interference. I'm glad to hear you're ok with the Koch brothers' influence. Reading is hard, eh?1 point

Not quite sure but I’ll put money down on Stacey Abrams refusing to concede the second time she gets beaten by Kemp, citing some nonsense about voter suppression. She will get another book deal since for some reason the left loves to idolize losers (Beto), and Stacey will never go away.1 point

No one is advocating that it be "a replacement for the plane or even a sim". It is one of many "tools" available. If used correctly, many believe it is an excellent training tool. We have a new U-2 pilot here that come from a UPT base as a T-6 instructor. He told me about a student's Dollar Ride after training in the VR device: said student took off, went to the MOA, was able to stay in the MOA, did a VFR recovery and actually found the VFR Entry point without any IP assistance, and got the plane to Initial. I'd call that "a significant data point", and shows that the VR device may have a time and place in the UPT syllabus.1 point

Bro, I agree on all points. But violence is a funny thing. It’s a risk/reward calculation between using too little or too much. I think we use too little in Africa to achieve our objectives. And using too little is worse than none at all, it hardens enemy resolve and dilutes partner trust when it takes 45 min & 4FWIA to get a single hellfire on tgt. Philosophically, when using violence I’d prefer we start with too much then throttle back if required. We do the opposite because it’s better politics, but it’s worked precisely no where.1 point

No surprise there, openly choosing to lie to push a narrative. I’d bet if you did a poll of leftist folks in this country, many would still believe the people at the border were getting whipped. This continues to be the worst administration this country has seen in a long time, maybe ever? Whether through incompetence, deceit, or a combination of both, it’s incredible how absolutely terrible they are at all levels and in every facet.1 point

This fleet management is gonna be a nightmare. Ops Sup giving a step brief at KBAD circa 2029- “OK, DOOM91, you are an old engine new radar jet. DOOM92, you are new engines new radar jet. Your spare is a legacy old engines old radar jet. I know this is your new radar checkout ride, but if you have to go to the spare, you still need to fly duration. Questions?”1 point

Seriously now…these aren’t just gaffes. I truly think he doesn’t know what he is doing. My only question is how much worse does he get in the next 2+ years? ‘I Got It Passed by a Vote or Two’: Biden Falsely Claims Student-Debt ‘Forgiveness’ Passed Congress https://www.nationalreview.com/news/i-got-it-passed-by-a-vote-or-two-biden-falsely-claims-student-debt-forgiveness-passed-congress/?fbclid=IwAR0PcL_JLkZ4EMMbxR1lSpOUjxiM4uGyfgEQyZPXIfMAejc4pckVzv2RBGY0 points

The problem is AETC is advocating for it as a replacement. Sim/VR only T-1 is supposed to start in January at Vance, with the other bases to follow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk0 points
