  1. Saddened we don’t hold our elected officials more accountable. We get what we deserve when we keep electing into office the same douchebags. The abusive and totalitarian handling of Covid (mandates/demands/punishments) should have elicited a strong response from all of us.

  2. Very disappointing night for republicans. the message is clear: trump is done. It’s desantis in 2024.

  6. I live in Denver and loved the petitions for the booze in grocery stores thing. A bunch of old retired white dudes that looked absolutely hammered in the middle of the afternoon on a Tuesday. Naturally I signed and voted for it.

  7. This sub-topic is asinine. You’ll probably be in a union as an airline guy, good advice not to piss them off I guess but it would be a magic trick to actually do that. Everyone already knows mil guys know zero about union stuff, don’t give a s**t, and unless you’re a total douche will teach you what’s needed. At no point should you “get familiar” with the RLA before getting there or even deliberately at any point. TBH, knowing that you can’t strike until you’re released to do so pretty much sums up the most important part of the whole thing anyway… you’re welcome, you just “got familiar” with the RLA.

  8. Desantis/Haley will be a tough one for the current democrat party to beat.

  9. As usual, both parties will likely come away with the wrong messages. Ds will say they’re still large & in charge, and Rs will double down on the Trumpiness. In reality, frustration with the economy & some of the more extreme policy points on the Democratic side is real. This should’ve been Republicans’ midterms to lose. But people are equally frustrated with Republican positions. Both parties have been captured by their “bases” whoever those people are. They’re definitely not the average Joe who just wants to live his life while his 401k does ok, the fire trucks show up when there’s a fire, the potholes on his way to work get fixed, & the government stays out of his religious beliefs and decisions. Neither party is offering that at the moment.

  10. Sorry man, that was a generic “your,” not an actual comment on FourFans’ v1 cut performance. But I see how it came off that way. My bad. “Don’t piss off the union” - absolutely, and that’s common sense. Airlines are a union job, so regardless of one’s opinions on unions in general, just accept you’re going to be part of one and ask your indoc bros (who came from another 121 job) questions about all the things you don’t understand. All of this can easily be accomplished without delving into RLA-specific knowledge. And if someone actually steps on their dick in indoc with the union (never once have heard of that), then they’re one of those ultra low SA types who were going to make life hard for themselves regardless.

  12. Deciding if you want the industry, talk to bros currently doing it and get multiple perspectives. The best learning on company stuff, contract, schedule/QOL/pay management, etc. is in cruise or a few beers deep at the bar. But, learn the RLA before getting hired? GTFO.

  13. It is in the GOP’s best interest that the DNC keeps funneling money to Abrams to run. She’s far too dangerous as a non-candidate to them getting people who don’t normally vote to vote. Watch was she does with the upcoming runoff on 12/6. Iowa re-elected a dinosaur in Grassley. There is no reason why anyone in their 70s+ should be in in the Executive or Legislative Branch.

  14. Assuming citizenship is not a factor then your age is also not a big factor. I'm going to OTS->UPT soon and I'm 30. The age limit for UPT is 33. You'll definitely want that PPL before you're competitive. And the test scores can change everything. If you want it, then go and get it.

  15. It looks like the DNC strategy to promote "Trump MAGA" candidates in the primaries was successful which does indeed say Trump's influence is in decline. Let's see what his "big" announcement is on the 14th. If he gets out of the way it would be a very good thing for the GOP, sadly I don't think his ego will allow for the greater good. Personally I would go Desantis/Haley in 2024. I think the dems will eventually dump Biden and push Gavin Newsome along with another extremist.

  16. Desantis/Tulsi would crush them. hell desantis vs. anyone would be a easy GOP win. but knowing the GOP they'll do political dumb shit to shoot themselves in the foot again

  17. A poll said @57% of Californians were not happy with the way their state was run and 100s of businesses and 1000s of people leaving the state for a better life but Newsom was 20 points up on his opponent. Just does not compute.

  18. Haha nope! In 2016, 2018, and 2020, Larry Sabato (who I still kind of follow) got all his statewide races for his GOP favorites right, but when he was wrong, it was when he picked a Dem over a GOP. He had 51 for the GOP and 237 for the House. I figured based on what he gets right vs wrong, the GOP would fair slightly better than his prediction. But it turns out this time, he overestimated the GOP.

  21. Zero impact for not knowing a single bit of the RLA when I started flying the line. This is like arguing B-Course studs should have a working knowledge of the NDS prior to TR-1. But the great part is this is all subjective and people can feel free to study whatever they want. I’m sure the sim IPs will be impressed with your RLA knowledge after your multiple failed attempts at V1 cuts.

  22. All true, but you're mis-labeling APA as a union. There's always someone right around the corner ready to remind us that it's an "Association". Usually an APA lawyer, but I digress...

  28. There’s been several statements recently from those on the wrong side of history that go something like, “let’s just all move on and let bygones be bygones, we only did/said things based on our understanding at the time. Let’s just forget about it all!” Yeah, fuck you. I will not forget, and I hope everyone else doesn’t either. If you demonized others via words (or worse, actions) who called it correctly, but weren’t in line with your thinking at the time - you don’t get a pass because you are still a huge POS. This does not apply to those who remained respectful and maintained human decency despite differing viewpoints.
