  1. Man somebody should pay you to curate a list of batshit alt-right obscure no name "news" sites. The links you come up with make newsmax and oan look reputable by comparison. Why didn't Paul Pelosi "run away" from his attacker? Must be some giant conspiracy.. or perhaps.. and hear me out on this one because it's pretty wild.. he didn't scamper away because he's eighty-fucking-two years old

  3. Slightly different spin on this. Been in 22 years, almost all of that time has been as a part timer (I only take orders for deployments generally), and i've been an airline guy for the last 10+ years. I love going down range and doing the mission, but I absolutely regret going on orders nearly every time I do so. I just started a 5 month activation order and I've worked more in the last two weeks, then I worked in the last 2 months (combined) at Delta. I really don't know how guys do this shit for an entire career...painful! Very few of the "improvements" the AF has made in my career, has made life easier. DTS, AROWS, MyEval, JMPS (long live CFPS/Falcon view lol), AFFORGEN...DUBYA TEE EFF!!! It seems like nearly every time we try to do things, it's one self-imposed (big AF) road block after another. It's like the AF just sits around and dreams up shit to make life harder for the individual. I'm retiring this summer and I can't wait. I'll miss the flying but not much else. I'll maintain most of the camaraderie because nearly my entire squadron lives within a 4 sq mile area...my 2-3x weekly coffee/bourbon stops at bros houses will continue. Now get off my lawn!

  4. As your roommate on 5 deployments and still AD slug, this hurts. I’ll forever treasure the memories of you crapping your pants in Bagram and owning that intel SrA in Call of Duty.

  5. Ok, I'll admit I don't agree with many of her positions. If I'm honest, I've NEVER found an actual electable politician that I agree with on most topics. Of all the options out there, she seems intelligent, articulate, clearly hasn't had a stroke, is willing to discuss difficult topics without equivocating on terms, and seems willing to compromise where it's necessary. That list would eliminate most of our current politicians. Hell, she stood up to 3 hours getting asked hard(ish) questions by Jocko. That's got to count for something. Imagine Biden, Pelosi, Fetterman or AOC doing that. Is she my favorite? Nope. But I'd take her and Dan Crenshaw in a heartbeat over the asshats we currently have in power. Who would you prefer?

  6. The fact that this administration said they are keeping an eye on twitter should scare the shit out of you.

  7. To be fair. Twitter hasn't looked good from a financial perspective, ever. It simply isn't a profitable business, and its "valuation" has always been nonsense. Also, characterizing a muzzle loading pistol (alongside a picture of Washington crossing the Delaware) and a sci-fi video game prop (from a game in which totalitarian corporations rule the world) as a picture of "handguns" is well, missing the point I guess.

  8. My opinion is those are too personalized to gift. Holsters are like bras. Both gotta fit the way you want or they’re coming off. So I only buy uncomfortable ones for my wife.

  9. It's all perspective. What's your situation? Do you live in Valdosta GA flying UPT lines every day, have a wife from there who's got family in the area? IF you had that gig and could hold it until retirement, of COURSE you'd regret departing to an unknown airline with unknown basing and future instead of staying until retirement or beyond. Contrast that to another situation where you live in Florida, are working a desk job with burned out GS-13's who are basically just waiting to die, you're not flying, and you've been told you have to move to west texas and deploy for one of your last 3 years in the AF. Yeah, you wouldn't regret leaving that. It's all perspective. You get to choose if you're positive or negative about ANYTHING that happens in your life. If you choose to regret leaving, guess what, you'll regret leaving. If you choose to see the bright side of your new job after leaving, you'll see the bright side of your new job after leaving.

  12. I spent some unwanted time at Eskan Village in Saudi. Got to travel the country. My opinion: overall shithole. Arrogant incompetent assholes. Saw things I've never seen before: 18 wheelers laying sideways on the interstate with a billion coke cans strewn across all 8 lanes, dude driving 75mph with a camel in the back of a pickup truck, the Saudi sweep, etc. Driving skills aside, interacting with them, they were arrogant assholes who sucked at whatever they did. I mean they are real assholes. Going into the RSAF headquarters they treated you like you were laden with explosives, denied every overflight request going to OEF, denied an IFE 2 ship of dark grays to land in their territory, and generally treated me and everyone else that was not Saudi like shit. I don't understand how/why we gave them a pass for 9/11. It definitely wasn't for the oil. They were scared shitless of us not buying their oil, every conversation about overflights or maintenance on F-15s or AWACs devolved into an oil discussion. As an old head trying to clean up 9/11, why didn't we do anything about Saudi? Wasn't the vast proportion of terrorist attacks on American soil traced back to Saudis?

  13. Well, let’s see…I would prefer someone who: 1. Doesn’t want to ban AR-15s and similar type sporting rifles 2. Doesn’t want to require backgound checks for private sales…and essentially then creating a registry 3. Didn’t support Bernie Sanders 4. Didn’t endorse Joe Biden 5. Doesn’t support ending cash bail 6. Doesn’t support raising the federal min wage to $15/hr (pre-covid btw) 7. Doesn’t support forcing businesses to provide for family paid sick leave, etc 8. Doesn’t support “free” college…ie forcing taxpayers to pay someone else’s tuition 9. Doesn’t want forced closure of existing nuclear power plants 10. Doesn’t support “Medicare for all” …I can go on, if you’d like? As for who I would support…ummm, a lot of people over her. Rand Paul? Ron DeSantis? Chris Sununu? Nikki Haley?

  20. Your AT-802U (OA-1K) and/or U-28 assumption is incorrect, unless you mean staying stateside. They deploy overseas, rarely if ever PCS overseas. Also, 4 squadrons is the word…seems to match SOFORGEN & AFFORGEN from stateside to me, but who knows… 4 squadrons could give rotation between likely 2 bases, with one-off assignments sprinkled in. Of course homesteading at HRT isn't what it used to be pre-Cannon days, but some dig in like a tick and stay at HRT finding PCA opportunities in MAJCOM, DRUs, SQs, etc. Those opportunities are decreasing but still exist. https://www.forbes.com/sites/erictegler/2022/11/25/its-been-50-years-since-the-air-force-last-operated-a-single-engine-tail-dragger-how-will-it-train-new-oa-1k-pilots/amp/ https://www.afsoc.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/3137974/mst-provides-innovative-leap-in-soforgen/ https://www.af.mil/News/Article-Display/Article/2846090/34th-sos-validates-u-28-soforgen-ace-concepts/

  26. It may seem unAmerican, but I'm not sure I'm going to be cheering for the USWNT. After all their crybaby antics about not being paid as much (news flash, you're not as good or you wouldn't lose to U15 boys teams) and their absurd political grandstanding, they could use a setback to have a reason to focus on actually playing soccer.

  29. Lots of things are possible, but that doesn’t make them likely. if you end up in fighters, expect to PCS every 3 years +/- 3-6 months … usually on the minus side. You will move more often right after UPT for various training … long TDYs or full PCS’s. AFPC likes to shuffle the manning holes around. if you’re looking to homestead somewhere, consider the guard/reserves

  31. It was the EC not the UN, and that statement was inaccurate/highly misleading and was almost immediately retracted: “Many thanks to those who pointed out the inaccuracy regarding the figures in a previous version of this video,” EC spokesperson Dana Spinant said in a Tweet a short while after the speech. “The estimation used, from external sources, should have referred to casualties, i.e. both killed and injured, and was meant to show Russia‘s brutality." "But Russian propagandists immediately pounced on the 100,000 figure, with one accusing the EC of saying Ukraine is lying about how many of its troops have died since Feb. 24." https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/ukraine-situation-report-another-body-count-controversy

  34. 20 years and 4 days active. Like everyone else, I don't miss big blue. I miss the flying and my bros but not all of the other bs. The mentality of leadership really changed in a bad way from my first day to the last. My good memories are what I like the most. I remember getting talked to by leadership for drawing a donger in the dust on one of the TVs in the alert facility. (It wasn't even me lol) This was what the "inspection" team found during the great morale cleansing of 2011. Also, the non vol 365 for my 19th year. Luckily, somebody volunteered for it. They were trying to fxck me but one of my bros actually wanted to go and volunteered for it. The funny thing is he was asking for a deployment the whole time. Not getting promoted when someone with a dui did also pissed me off a little. I never got into any trouble but I spoke my mind when things were dumb. I was the CCV chief the first time I was passed over. I took flying seriously and didnt do the queep. Oh yeah, they finally promoted me 3 months after retirement. That was awesome as well. Good times.

  35. Like I said, nobody knows anything. 19th AF's truth will change tomorrow probably. But if I were a T-1 reservist at Any Base, U.S.A., and not retiring in the next 12-24 months I'd be looking for a new job personally.

  36. No surprise that this conversation is trying to be steered away from the main issue. No one cares or is debating what Elon should be spending his time or money doing or what his best skills are. The issue is the blatant hypocrisy of the left and the fact that they now want to sack an individual they used to love because he doesn’t toe their leftist line. The Biden administration wants to investigate Musk as a potential national security threat now due to this Twitter purchase. They of course claim this is “standard procedure”, despite Elon and his companies having in been involved in national security related activities for years now. All this is, is proof that the current admin and the leftists supporting it are threatened by anyone and everything that doesn’t support the approved narrative and will stop at nothing to try and shut it down and regain control over their own set of approved “facts”.

  38. I had an awesome career that I’m very thankful for: met tons of great people, flew several aircraft, and got to hurt the enemy. Unfortunately it’s a broken organization led predominantly by petty losers and mini-tyrants. Having looked behind the curtain, it is as bad as the line flying captains think. ETA: I’m retiring in a few months after 21 years. Glad I stayed as long as I did, no regrets about leaving now.
