  1. Sounds like it’s time for the USAF to initiate a study on the topic. Maybe some surveys. I’m sure it’ll all be fixed right after.

  2. You are fundamentally wrong here. Democrats have done an AMAZING job of convincing their base that Republicans are generally evil. In fact, both parties have successfully contorted their cultural war platform into a morality war platform, which has provided vigor to their base that this is a political fight that needs won for moral reasons. If I don't support democratic/liberal/progressive values I am clearly a racist, a misogynist, homophobic, fascist etc... This has blanket applied to every single Republican candidate in every election and progressives have pushed and promoted it.

  3. I'm cheering hard for the GOP, I really am. But they need to put forth candidates that aren't obvious idiots. So glad that this dumbass lost. The scariest thing is that it was close. 1.7 million people thought he should be a US Senator.

  6. That’s it boys, right there. Bitch all you want about all the shithead voters in this country, but that will accomplish nothing. This is the only way forward to get the GOP back where it should be, and stop the insanity the Dems (via progressive takeover) have inflicted on our country.

  8. I get that to you two, given the decision, it was preferable to take the idiot instead of the scumbag. But the majority of GA voters didn't think so. Inflation out of control, nonsense covid mandates, Afghanistan debacle, shitshow at the border, etc. etc. A scumbag senator who supports all that should be easy to defeat. Especially in the South. But instead he won. Because Walker was, among many other things, an insufferable moron. If the GOP wants to win elections, they have to put forward better candidates. It's not too much to ask. The candidate that could have beat Warnock didn't have to be perfect, or a genious. He or she just had to be someone of decent character who could speak moderately well. Instead, they put up a complete fool, and this is the price they pay.

  9. Warnok is a POS scumbag. This was a case of scumbag vs idiot. I would have voted for the idiot.

  10. No, 1.7 million saw the numbnuts warnock and thought, no way in hell, and then said I'd rather have someone brighter than POTUS but still not all there.

  11. I disagree with that assessment. Not only did the DNC push that narrative, they purposely endorsed and DONATED to so called MAGA candidates in the primaries. While Herschel walker was a horrible candidate, not all GOP options were terrible. I think the abortion decision tipped the balance, and will likely continue to do so. One thing is perfectly clear, the polls are crap and candidates better find new ways to address what is really important to voters.

  14. Hey y'all. Like everybody else I'm staying busy to keep my mind off of the suspenseful wait. Read through the comments and I hope that 40 pilot slot projection was just rumor and not true. But I could see it being true with the pipelines so backed up. I'll post my info just because: Currently holding a rated position as a 12F. 99 AFOQT, 88 PCSM (no ppl, the new flight hour scoring helped my measly 25 flight hours). 1/3 Strat. Hoping those are good enough scores, got my Wing/CC to write my letter of rec. We'll see!

  15. Yea, that’s what I was implying when I said it was all a mess. There’s zero capacity to train 18Xers to manned even if we wanted to right now. For my situation (age/rank/TAFMS/etc.) it would be a tough ask to go to full-up UPT and then IQT/MQT for a new platform if god forbid my Guard unit had to change missions/platforms again. Then again like you said, a lot of dudes would love it and relish the additional hours. My argument is that if you can take someone off the street and make them an 11X in ~6 months, surely you can take an 18X and make them an 11X faster than that, and the AF should invest the resources necessary to make that happen at some point before sunsetting the MQ-9 with no clear replacement.

  21. Juan Brown currently has this pinned as a "highlighted comment" below his video. It was originally attributed to "Matt," whoever that is, and now is attributed to "Editor," although it's unclear who that is, too. That comment has 440 replies, and the video has over half a million views. As far as I can tell, it's a random comment, from a random person, and people see it pinned to a Juan Brown video and take it as gospel. Aviation and Social Media are an interesting combination. Aviation is one of those things that generally inspire people. At the same time, the barrier to actually participating in aviation is high, both in money and time. Social media fills in the gap for a lot of people - you can look at YouTube and consume all kinds of aviation-related media (some of it of incredibly high quality). At the same time, "in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king" holds true. Chuckleheads like Juan Brown and Dan Gryder race to post on YouTube with a video collecting the available footage and data from an accident. They present things in a digestible fashion for the general public. But then they jump off the deep end and add their wild-eyed editorializing. When they're wrong, there is no penalty. When they're right, they get to tout to the online masses about what great aviators and detectives they are. There is almost no downside for them. They both found this new niche of "YouTube Aviation Accident Investigators," so I think a lot of their popularity is that they're first in the space. I can only hope better competition comes along.

  23. Masks have become the progressives' MAGA hat.

  24. TBH I think wearing mask in a clinic actually makes since and probably should stick. Not just COVID, but really healthcare facilities are places sick people conjugate. Mask are effective with some types of illness. I would like to see our culture change a bit where people do start wearing mask when they have the sniffles and work centers become more tolerant of sick leave. I'm tired of this societal nonsense that you should tough it out when you're sick and go to work spewing snot everywhere. Not talking military here but mainstream society. Everywhere else though.... Yeah get rid of it.

  27. That’s just it. Republicans & conservative media have perfected the art of absolutely demonizing any D candidate (or sitting representative for that matter) as an existential threat to America & their voters are eating that shit up. Unfortunately, the tactic works quite well. To be fair, liberals seem to be trying the same tactic, but they’re not nearly as good at it.
