“In the Marine Corps, you’re actually dumb first, then a pilot fifth because we teach and train to the lowest common denominator.” 2) Skeds O / Maintenance O / Adjutant etc... 3) Therapist / Financial Advisor / etc... for those E-3 and 4s who get married to a stripper in Guam on deployment two months ago, who doesn't speak English, and then you find out that her whole family (8) moved to America and is living in a 2 bedroom apartment with said E-3. Or the E-4 who bought a brand new Ford Raptor because "Sir, they allow 10 year car loans now with no money down at only an 8% interest rate." 4) Paperwork bitch because of all those random Commanding General Inspections - "Wait, you didn't know that you were the voting officer and the hazardous duty officer? You didn't perform quarterly vehicle inspections on all the enlisted Marines to ensure they could evacuate if required AND you didn't publish quarterly voting advertisements for the Marines who are all residents from varied states, counties, and cities? You're off the flight schedule until this is remedied. We can't get a deficiency in these areas... Yes, I am aware we reported 7 up jets this morning and just went down to a single."3 points

AFPC doesn't usually give updates on this unless there is a delay and that's usually told to some people in January. I know the feeling and I was feeling the exact same thing last year. You just have to wait it out for the second week of January.2 points

Bro how long have you spent in the employee of the government. The government acting has as much to do with appearing to be making an impact as actually making any impact. In fact it’s probably more the first one and if it happens to be impactful, bonus points. There is no doubt that wearing the RIGHT mask does actually make a measurable impact on you or any other possible vector spreading your nasty into the Gen pop. Problem is the right mask wasn’t what we sent people out with. Anything short of fishnets was pretty much accepted… and now you have a mass group of people with the feeling of “I have a mask so it’s cool” going out and interacting to plus up that size group because hey the government said it’s ok. Likewise how many people did you see wearing latex gloves. That works…. If you’re stripping gloves between movement and interaction. If you wear those gloves continuously (every gate guard I’ve interacted with) you actually increase the places you spread virus because it has a longer life on that glove than it does in your bare skin. That was actually a point brought to the post commander by our infectious disease OIC (friend of mine). Obviously the guy with a medical degree doesn’t know anything a star knows, so we just ignored it and the gate guards are still wearing them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk2 points

Sounds like something a real sick bastard would say. Did someone have to unchain your arms and unzip your gimp mask to allow you to type this??? Just kidding, but seriously, take that gag ball out of your mouth every hour or so, and get a drink of water to prevent dehydration!2 points

Could be. His mom was so promiscuous we’ll probably never know. My money is that it’s the entirety of the 1986 Cincinnati Bengals (a la Cartman’s dad).2 points

I'd say that wearing a leather dog mask is a far cry from wearing a ball cap in the cockpit. I'd draw the line of distinction somewhere around leather dog mask. I don't care who/how that Col bangs. But now, how can this guy ever be taken seriously again in uniform? One more useless O6. And banging your subordinate is bad, even for gay people. This "kink" makes me think of the movie 8mm with Nicholas Cage. Edit: What pisses me off the most is thinking about our fallen being buried in that same uniform. The complete lack judgement is something I would expect from a 19 yo gunner but an O6? Really?2 points

Look man, I agree the ad hominem was uncalled for (as it is in any environment). But your comparison is BS. Have you ever seen a seatbelt disclaimer in an automobile manual, warning people that it may not protect them in a collision? Have you ever seen an alcoholic beverage container tell people that driving after drinking it is just fine? Because here's the thing. Any surgical mask container you pick up ever since it became popular post COVID has a disclaimer about how it is not tested to protect against COVID 19 on the side. I'll say it again. If you want to mask up, go for it. The evidence for it is...not great. Therefore, it should not be mandated in normal medical settings in view of its downsides for medical treatment and communication.1 point

Incorrect. A human sexual urge is to breed and carry on the lineage. Nothing more. There are aberrations of that urge, as there are in all instinctual urges. The most powerful urge in a human is to survive, as is in any animal. There are all kinds of urges. Stealing, killing, raping, compete, etc. Society tries to tamp down the urges that tend to be non beneficial and rewards urges that are. We've decided that pedophilia is a non beneficial urge. We've decided in the DoD that commanders engaging in pedophile behavior and doing things with gimps are non beneficial. Totally agree that it is a totally made up rule. I think its a good one, sounds like you do too. So, our current construct is: pedophile=bad. Commanders getting with gimps=bad. Get rid of the Commander. If those rules change, fair enough. I personally hope I'm not around to see it, but it seems like this stuff is on the doorstep already.1 point

Yeah the line is definitely somewhere before you get to the dog mask. But that doesn't make it easy to define. That's also why I said someone in a position of actual command makes this worse. He has to deal with a level of necessary reputation that I think it's fair to say completely explodes when you see him in a bondage puppy suit. As for the 19-year-old Gunner versus a commander, I stopped believing in aged-based maturity a long time ago. People with far more to lose than this schmuck have been caught doing what seem like absurd things. Remember the senator who got caught soliciting gay sex in an airport bathroom? As I've gotten older and seen more, my perspective on these types of seemingly reckless actions have changed. Not to say that I condone them, because I think there has to be a disincentive form of punishment, but it is also very easy for people without those proclivities to judge those who have them. I did, and often still do. Let's take an extreme example. Pedophilia. Anyone who thinks you make a decision to be a pedophile is delusional. Something is broken in their head, and despite the incredibly dire ramifications, they still go out there and get caught diddling kids. Can you even imagine what that must be like? To have that type of evil in you and be unable to stop it? I had a very simple view of it until one of my friends blew his brains out, because he had been caught. None of us had any clue. He should have gone to jail for a very long time for what he did, but that doesn't change the very difficult moral question of how you deal with people with broken brains. So on a less extreme level, if you're the commander who spent his whole life dreaming of butt fucking a younger man in a gimp puppy suit, no, I'm no longer surprised that people succumb to those desires. Nothing is more powerful than sexual urges in humans, and I simply count myself lucky that my urges are boring and socially acceptable 🤣😂 Maybe the answer is to destigmatize the non-harmful kinks to the point that people are comfortable identifying them, but coming to an agreement that such predilections make one unsuitable for command. I don't know dude, but this isn't going to be the last scandal like this.1 point

For certain! In the meantime, let’s continue to capitalize on our progress here while sticking with what we have technology for currently (looking at you New Zealand, Holland, and CA). Maybe not banning gas powered farm equipment before we have a realistic alternative. As much fun as this recent inflation has been, I’m thinking farming via horse drawn plows and hand picking is going to lead to a few more shortages.1 point

The woke, liberal, democrat push in not only our country but in our military is sickening. And will trash our society and way of life far quicker than climate change or any other rally of the left and democrats. It’s pretty sad and scary.1 point

Never left a boom. There were a couple times when when I immediately put a guy in the back & told him I didn’t want to see him for the remainder of the flight, but those guys were squadron mates & weren’t gonna get left behind. I even once had to talk the OIC at the brig in Souda Bay into releasing a couple of my guys (who had broken curfew) so we could depart. I did deny boarding once to a (very) drunk crew chief (think belligerent, out of control & a potential danger to the crew) & was backed up by leadership.1 point

O-6 taking pictures of his junk in uniform, having sex with an O-3 in his chain, and publishing all of it on Twitter? Let me ask you... would you have a problem if an airman in your squadron wore various parts of their uniform while making OnlyFans content? Would you have a problem with an airman in your squadron wearing a mask in uniform at work?1 point

I was definitely a travel agent way before I was a USAF pilot. Hotels for the crew, check. Cars for the crew, check. Oh wait, Andrews rental car place closed at noon. Ok, we'll call three taxis. Taxi driver got arrested trying to come through the gate. Can I hitchhike to the off base rental car center? DTS approver wants to know why I didn't get a u-drive. Ok, hand it all in 14 hours later. What's that Eng? We're broke? Ok, I'll get our cars back. Let's see if the hotel has rooms - wait - it's Friday night. Now I put on my lawyer hat because the load just called from jail.1 point

Sorry to hear about your misfortune at UPT, and correct me if I’m wrong, but can’t you just walk away at this point-no commitments? I’m sure you are plenty disappointed and feel you’d still like to serve somewhere. However, there is no greater dead end street than a C-130H Nav. It’s like being a VHS tape player salesman or something. The H’s are going away as fast as Lockheed can spit out J’s and all the Navs are trying to get their civilian ratings and get to an airline. If I were in your shoes, and Uncle Sam was cutting me loose, I’d go get civilian flight training and race your buds from UPT right to the same job at Delta, or whatever. Best of luck.1 point

I don't accept a whole lot of mandates. And that makes me a weirdo. And that's too bad. You have demonstrated over and over that you love mandates. You are bringing them out of the woodwork. You love mandates, they make you feel comfortable. I wish they didn't. I wish you still had an ounce of pioneering blood in you. I wish you still had a fighting spirit. And I wish you never flew on the B-1.0 points
