Finally the left is actually correct for once in labeling something as a "phobia". I actually am scared of fat people. Scared that they might sit next to me on an airplane and take up half my seat. Or scared that they will get the window exit row seat and we all burn to death while they try to unhook their seatbelt extender, extract themselves from the seat, only to have them get stuck halfway out the door.4 points

That’s why you gotta have a cover story man! Especially in Canada, FAWG could be Fuckin’ A Wayne Gretzky for his hockey prowess, Find a Way to Gander for his overland navigation skills (bonus points if from Newfoundland), Freely Acquires Wayward Geese for his work on the Canadian Geese migration, or even Fries Always With Gravy for his poutine obsession. Come on Canucks!4 points

Thank you for making the case of having a limited government, and a constitution that limits the power of elected officials..almost like our founding fathers intended. The RNC didn’t chose Trump, Trump chose the RNC. Trump was a reaction to years of condescending and elitist behavior from Obama and his like who only cared about costal metropolises and Chicago. Most Americans want a government that leaves them the hell alone and protects/values American ideals. Trump spoke to that crowd. But yes, time for him to go, way too toxic. A DeSantis or Haley ticket would revive the Republicans.3 points

Can we stand back and look at this. I'm not sitting here happy that Biden is president. I'm also not sitting here happy that Trump was the president before Biden. WTF is going on? The best the conservatives could do the last election before Biden was to put the most ridiculous clown into office. Drain the swamp. Liked his policies that actually made it through, hated everything else about Trump. Did he drain the swamp? No he did not. Put a bunch of his relatives into office - yes. Did he fix healthcare? No. Immigration? No. Lowered my taxes - yes. So there's that. And didn't get us into anymore "wars." But he is a toxic unpredictable mess that is only interested in cajoling other humans to make money. Really RNC? That's what you had to offer? You gave us someone who was predictably a one term president. Thanks. Then to react to that atrocity that was Trump we put someone up there that is a grandpa that you need to be several dates in before you intro him to your girlfriend, because....he has tendencies. And he's very likely senile. I don't agree with his policies, but I'm not going to knock the party for that. He's a ed up mess who can't articulate effectively. Not a personal attack, but he's ed up. As was Trump. WTF is going on here? We have had on display for at least the last 2 election cycles some of the worst Americans that I could nominate to run the country. There is something going on. Why can we not get a sane, stable, predictable human being through the primaries on both sides anymore? I think most people on this forum could. But as a nation we don't. Everyone I talk to that is non military thinks about the same. They might be a democrat, they might be a conservative. But to a man and woman they all agree that Trump and Biden were not good choices. So why are they ending up on the general election ticket? This is why election fraud is getting the attraction that it is enjoying. I don't believe there is fraud enough to overturn an election. I could be dead wrong, but I haven't seen the evidence. So if its not election fraud, what is it? Who is being represented in the elections? Its not me. At the local level, the person that is sitting in the seat makes sense to me. Here are their credentials, here is their background, here is why they are sitting there. Even if its a democrat, I can explain to anyone that asks how they got there. I can't explain this at the national level. I hang out with a truckload of conservatives. Every one of us says Trump should never made it into office. Always did. How did he take our party? And why is the RNC allowing it to continue? There is a huge WTF going on.3 points

Trump was receiving a good deal of attention as part of a coordinated plan by Clinton surrogates to weaken and deplete the Jeb Bush war chest. Trump’s campaign was largely on life support when it got a sudden infusion right before the primaries. There’s a series of political reports from her staffers talking about the original design of the campaign to face Bush and later Rubio. Then they just could not adapt to face the thing they helped to create in a populist Trump campaign. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

I think obesity is the worst problem facing the citizenry of this country and while a lot of that has to do with personal choice, this country is not set up to make meaningful change to curb it. Subsidies to farmers that are still in effect from the Great Depression to incentivize them to grow crops that exclusively end up making food crazy unhealthy (high fructose corn syrup, soybean oil, etc) will never be repealed thanks to lobbying and big agriculture. What actually made me officially leave the Republican Party to become a registered independent was the furor surrounding Michele Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative and wanting to make school lunch healthier. The Republican response to that was purely political and proved nobody wants to actually make a difference. I’ll admit that school lunch and breakfast are just a piece of it, but JFC look at the average group of kids and how many are overweight. It’s terrible.1 point

When’s the last time any of us has worked with Marine infantry at an LFE? I’m trying to remember the last time I worked with Marines at all in training; it was probably their C2 guys in a tent. When do you think the last time a Harrier or C-model Hornet squadron worked with other Marines? Rhetorical. When it comes to a MEF/MEB/MEU, the Marines are always the best option to support other Marines. I sure as shit wouldn’t trust my survival on another service showing up; we’re all too busy with our own activities. When the Navy has to choose between CAS and Carrier survival, or the Air Force has to choose between CAS and DCA and strike package size / regen rates and also Carrier survival, support for a thousand Marine infantry holding or advancing to an objective is going to get backburnered. Even the resupply from other services will have to be fought for at every instance, which is why a quarter of Marine expeditionary units is dedicated for logistics support, Hercs and all. They’re geared to survive by themselves for 30-60 days, because they’ll have to. It’s actually a pretty enviable setup, because it’s self-contained “joint” by nature and commanded by a guy that knows what he’s doing. Maybe Red can shed more light.1 point

This was just posted to the Portal: 20 Dec update: I realize that many of you are probably wondering why it takes two months between the board and the results to come out and I wanted to try to shed some light on that and let you know where things stand. Once the board concludes, I then send a list of the results to all of the assignment teams/CFMs to get career field releases. That was finalized on 9 Dec. I then have to brief the results to the AFPC/CC so he can certify the results. That occurred today, 20 Dec. The next step is to staff the PSDM throughout AFPC. With the holidays coming up, folks will be taking some well-deserved time off and I imagine it will take about 2.5-3 weeks until the staffing is complete. The last step is final release approval from my Directorate Chief. As soon as he approves it, I will upload the PSDM to myPers Secure. At that point, commanders will be able to notify their selects and then the PSDM will go public 7 days after the secure release. With all that said, I still can't give an exact date that it will be released other than to say it will be ASAP after I get the final approval. It is still on track for a mid-Jan release and rest assured that I will publish it at the earliest possible opportunity that I can.1 point

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/12/19/gen-z-on-new-college-and-career-plans-in-post-roe-america.html I cant have an abortion for convenience so I want to move to another country. It's a lot cheaper to wear a condom. Why is the USA so infatuated with getting abortions? Did George Washington fight for abortions? If I fry up an endangered sea turtle egg and put it into my breakfast burrito, I'll go to federal prison. Most of the people fighting to remove defenseless humans from a woman's body will be the same people lynching me for eating that burrito. Are they too stupid to see the irony in this?1 point

And yet, his actions selected him for a position of immense power. It's not a fluke, all the nonsense feel-good speeches from guys like Mosely and Welsh and Goldfein we're just fluff. The military is an organization that lacks/avoids any metric for success (profit, customer satisfaction, productivity, reduced casualties, successful pullout from Afghanistan, etc) and therefore the least valuable on the outside will become the most successful on the inside. Perhaps, like in the past, a real war will fix that, but a decade later we'll be right back to where we are today.1 point

He is senile and has been showing signs of dementia. Making up false memories is one of the symptoms of dementia. While he always was, and will always be a douche, shame on his handlers for stringing and dragging him along. This is elder abuse plain and simple. He should have resigned years ago.1 point

I'm really curious to know if the pilot waited for the jet to settle in relatively flat before he punched, so that he wouldn't go out at a steep angle. If that was actually his conscious thought, the dude's got big balls.1 point

It's the internet. ad hominem attacks are authorized. And using the phrase ad hominem makes it look like you don't know the definition of a new latin word. Just say "personal attacks." Have you seen what that cat has posted? I'm definitely sad that he flew B-1s. We have some great people in that community. Hopefully he hasn't been running around the community poisoning the Lts with his takes on the merits of mandates, article 15s and such.-1 points
