  1. I love when people try to redefine Catholicism in a way that suits their political beliefs. The Catholic Church is structured in a very clear manner, and the accepted views of the church are equally clear. You either believe them or you don't, but you don't get to pretend that you're part of the club if you're not willing to abide by the Constitution and bylaws. It's one thing to claim to be Christian when you don't have mainstream Christian beliefs. But Catholicism is a very specific type of Christianity

By that, I mean, names of people helped or et cetera." -- President Joe Biden, Sep 28,2022 "Here's the deal"...."I have no regrets" -- President Joe Biden, Jan 19, 2023

  5. You can apply again without jumping through special hoops if you decline it AND don't have an ETP for something (age, TFCDS, etc.). From the PSDM: "Those who decline are eligible to do so once and will be eligible for a future UFT board. Those members who had an approved ETP for age and/or TFCSD or had previously declined flying training are not eligible and should be counseled as such according to AFMAN 36-2100, Military Utilization and Classification, paragraph 3.3.2.12.1., UFT eligibility and ineligibility criteria." That being said, this board was my second application AFTER I denied a selection to something other than UPT with an ETP as described above. Just talk to AFPC about your situation when they drop the next UFT Board PSDM (Mar/Apr probably) and ask how to proceed. I was essentially told I just needed to get an "Other" ETP to be eligible again. Hope that helps!

  6. Get the 'terp in here. I don't speak baguette. A: Epstein didn't kill himself B: Vaccines weren't magically available on time Does that mean that the plague was unleashed on the world and on a specific timelime? NO. No. Does it mean that a lot of self-minded organizations might have decided they could serve their own self-interests by acting together at very much the same time? Not out of the realm of possibility. ESPECIALLY considering the fact that the 2nd order effects hit them all differently. Everyone wants to hit the pop-up double. Not everyone it ready to score, and some people sacrifice a runner to log those two scores. There is no NWO or some WEF plot. It's really a bunch of back stabbers who want to profit in their own short term game. If you think some WEF James Bond villain can ACTUALLY CHANGE 'THE MARKET" then, why on earth do you continue to support that faction in your buying amazon, etc. ...

  8. Yes. But it’s probably just as difficult tbh. I’m willing to put in the work tho. Everyone’s telling me to go guard instead

  10. SOF_CSO, I'm fairly certain your waivers follow you and don't need to be re-accomplished. AETC is the waiver authority for everyone (active duty, ANG, AFRES) going through UPT so your current waiver should still be valid. They may have expiration dates attached to them which could come into play. Anyone in flight medicine should be able to look them up and find out that information for you if needed. Best of luck.

  11. PSDM 23-54 has dropped! Deadline: 03 October 2023. Last day for application updates: 03 November 2023. A little early, but wanted to create this thread ahead of time and update it as information and dates roll in.

  12. I absolutely loved my time in SOF, I've just been doing it to too long and need something new in my life. AFSOC is the last real haven for CSOs in the Air Force but I just need a new challenge in life.

  21. I didn't get picked up on the first AD board I applied to and tried the same thing. Applied to at least a dozen units and rushed the ones I could make it out too. It seemed way more competitive; several applicants were being greeted as old friends because they've come back to apply year after year. Whichever way you go, keep at it and don't let this board get you down!

  22. Ask absolutely anyone who has done AD and ANG and they’ll tell you the Guard is infinitely better, 100% of the time. Having said that, ANG slots are much more competitive than AD. We get many, many hundreds of applicants for 1 UPT slot usually. I’m not trying to discourage you from applying, but wanted you to know what you’re getting yourself in to. Best of luck.

  23. Tech pay for a Viper IP in Tucson that sits alert starts at ~$205,000 + TSP match up to 5% + profit sharing at 69%. $4k/ year pay raises each year for the first 4 years then potential for annual bonuses after that. Never having to say "light chop, ladies and gentlemen, ahhhhhhh..." or tell a traveler where the nearest bathroom is in an airport you've never been to...priceless.

  24. Thanks again for chiming in Doc! I thought this was the case, but wanted someone to verify, so I called back to my squadron to get SOF_CSO a solid answer this morning…All the full-timers must still be at lunch. Anyway, I would most certainly put proof of the waivers in your packet somewhere, even if the ANG decided you needed to do them all over again, for some reason only NGB could dream of, it would make the folks on your board feel more confident in selecting you.

  25. Are you Catholic or speculating (or both?) The rules, beliefs and norms of the Church vary widely across the world and are very, very much debated and reinterpreted all the time! It’s absolutely not an unchanging set of very clear beliefs and it never, never has been since the time of Jesus and the apostles themselves. When bishops disagree on a big issue it all becomes a bit unclear, wouldn’t you say? They’re all bishops, who is right? When bishops disagree with the Pope, it reflects the diversity of opinion in a global and universal church! That’s the most generous interpretation. The less generous interpretation is that random activist bishops should feel free to STFU unless they are making a ruling for a resident of their particular diocese AND they’re willing to admit they’re openly defying the Pope because of how important the issue is. Do those bishops deny communion to murders in prison? To those who don’t help the poor? To those who haven’t followed any other number of God’s commandments and Jesus’ teachings? My opinion as a lay Catholic is that communion is a sacrament between God and the person receiving it, and whether it’s “valid” and sanctifying or not is between God and that person, not the minister who happens to be handing out the host. By all means, preach that abortion is a sin, that is the teaching of the Church. But to deny communion over one particular sin and really not for any other is a much bigger issue actually. The Pope is on the record as saying Biden should continue receiving communion and is a “good Catholic.” Last time I checked, he’s in charge of the Church. Case open and shut for me at least.

  26. Kind of too that point though.... would it be worth while to make a law that required political parties with more than x amount in donations fund background checks into candidates and make some of that information public record. Would have prevented Santos for sure.

  30. To be fair, they aren’t really trying to get the mask mandated re-instated. DOJ is in court because it believes it should have the right to mandate such measures during times of crisis. Their position is that the courts wrongfully stripped them of such right. You’re certainly free to disagree with DOJ’s position. I have mixed feelings, personally. I actually think it’s a good thing this is being litigated because it will set a precedent going forward. Let’s look at this for what it is though (the system, doing what it’s supposed to do) and not get into the histrionics & misdirection of saying the DOJ wants to re-institute masks at this time.

  34. Come on man! Every suspected criminal in America gets a chance to have their lawyers comb through the crime scene before the cops do (lol). Besides, even if Joey B did take a few little TS items home, he's used to doing a little jail time for all of the times he stood up for African Americans during the Civil Rights Movement. He was also locked up in Africa during a visit to see Nelson Mandela. He's a tough dude. First Biden in a 1,000 years to attend college. He's from coal mining blood. He's one tough SOB. Oh yeah, and he's a compulsive liar with a crack head son, who's clearly a person kept propped up by using the Biden last name to do business deals. I wonder how much crack was smoked in the vault (Biden's garage)? Come on man, it's just a few secrets.

  35. Totally agree. When I was a captain the idea of flying airlines for $$ while my bros remained in the fight was unpalatable. Getting out in 2012 was the logical financial choice, but was not what I valued. So I stayed, got to overload on war stuff, etc. Right call for me. Now war’s over and there’s not a single O6 job remotely appealing, but I’m very excited about the airline world! It’s been eye-opening to see all the other aviation paths out there as I meet folks with radically different backgrounds. It has validated my decision to stay AF when I did: I’d have been miserable watching the team collect scalps while I fretted about 401k options. But now door A is closed so I’m moving on. All that to say: military pilots are a special breed and I salute each of you. Do AGR if that works (wouldn’t have for my niche world) or get out at initial ADSC if that’s your jam, or stay if you still love it despite the warts. Regardless of the path you choose, I recommend enough self-reflection to have no regrets. My only regret is taking the bonus. The money seems appealing but it’s insignificant in the grand scheme of life; when you are ready to go you want the ability to go immediately.
