To be honest, yeah I am, for stupid shit like flight suit sleeves, reflective belts, PT gear while deployed, and masks. I do plenty of the other stupid shit like useless CBTs, show up 6.9 hrs early for the rotator, 1206s, and a thousand other things I didn’t like/disagreed with. It’s called critically thinking and being OK with living in the gray (and that’s what wins fights, not zero critical thought yes men). But none of that’s important, what’s important is you’re like every shitty E-9 who has zero critical thinking skills and touts illogical shit like, “if you can’t tuck your PT shit in, how can I trust you to drop a bomb.” You’re willing to Art 15 people over nonsensical bullshit that has zero impact on mission accomplishment. I’ll give you one thing though, you are completely owning it and making it easy to know what kind of a person you are.9 points

Thanks Huggy, I want to point out the obvious here for those ten-percent who didn't catch the skill level here. Not only did he maneuver to place the balloon and accoutrement in the frame, the shadow of the aircraft is on the side of the balloon as well. Best selfie indeed!5 points

We are so bifurcated by the pundits that have to assume everything the other guy/girl does is wrong. I can't stand Biden, but he got this one right and I will certainly give credit where credit is due.3 points

I just had a flashback of circa '04 at the Deid w/ reflective belts/cargo shorts in the chow hall and other such orders which I apparently blatantly "violated" Lol3 points

The great game is always full of twists, turns and backroom deals. You just never know what the final outcome will be. I want Ukraine to regain it's pre-2014 invasion borders, partly because it honors our word, mostly because it will remove Putin from power and relegate him to the pile of failed despots and will likely stop any Russian aggression for a century. If you play long-ball, Russia failing could lead to several more generations of relative peace in Europe.3 points

Years ago, in Iraq during the summertime when the AC wasn’t working too well, I once rolled up my flight suit sleeves when it wasn’t allowed. Good thing my commander didn’t give me an Article 15.2 points

Yep that's it. Air Force changed the standard from 25 arc sec (line D) to 40 arc sec (line B) about five years ago.1 point

You can work with AFPC to change your IFT/PCS dates as needed. You can also request a RNLTD change via vMPF, your losing/gaining commanders will crosschat and are the ones to approve it. What's been the trend for all my friends so far is that the expected class start date is exactly 1 month after the RNLTD, so for a 26 June RNLTD I'd expect a 26 July class start date (If you check your SURF via AMS on vMPF it should have a section about expected training with expected dates). When I spoke with Columbus, they said that the Guard/Reserve folk normally show up about 10 days before their class start date and have zero problems so that shouldn't be an issue to show up later!1 point

As a 60G guy, with some prior EMS experience, I'm scratching my head too. In terms of the fuel - I know the Coastie 60s have some substanial modifications for carrying additional fuel. I don't believe the Navy models carry that much, to get them beyond 500NM with reserves at least, but I could be wrong. They do have the ability to fuel up on ships capable of taking them, or doing HIFR (Helicopter In Flight Refueling), in which they hover next to a moving vessel, take up a fuel hose, and then connect the hose to provide fuel while flying - which seems like a nightmare to someone who does HAAR pretty regularly. Both of those would obviously extend the time to get someone to the beach, though. EDIT: Unless the details about the altitude variation are incorrect, and for whatever reason the 22 guys were adamant at flying an enroute altitude which would cause issues for a head injury.1 point

No Shit...I'd love for an actual doctor to share some knowledge. Is the pressure differential from 20' to 100' AGL enough to justify doubling the time it takes to transport a critically injured patient to a trauma center? Sounds like some serious buffoonery.1 point

I guess they figured he already cheated death once. No need to tempt fate with an Osprey ride! (Kidding…kind of).1 point

The medical evac of the LSO is crazy. Hell of a decision to give up 100+knots for 100 feet of altitude. Wonder how the helo got the required fuel to make it to the Philippines.1 point

F-35 ramp strike report released and broken down. Pretty interesting. Spoiler alert…overdid the shit hot break, didn’t have enough power, and similar to the Eglin guy he got caught up with the auto throttle (APC?) thing.1 point

Something like this is pretty cut and dry, but he picked the worst AFSOC/CC to do this under. CAT 5 will probably come off the 3rd floor and personally stab him in the face. It was just briefed at the SOCOM CDRT that disciplinary incidents/issues within SOCOM are rapidly approaching the levels they were at prior to the “period of reflection”. Not a good look.1 point

Nice! I’m a month later for IFT with a RNLTD of Oct 23. Might give you a little more SA on UPT start date.1 point

Here’s the thing though: There is a good chunk of conservative media (and therefore a good chunk of conservatives) that are eager to paint everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) the Biden Administration does as a misstep. They are so blind in their desire to demonize the current president that they would rather see him fail than the United States win. Incredibly, there has arisen a contingent of self professed Reagan loving conservatives who are now willing to spread Russian propaganda and misinformation in order to to discredit the current president. Look, no one is saying you have to like the Biden Administration or vote Democrat. There are plenty of valid criticisms. But the narrative that Joe is somehow the world’s biggest criminal and that every single decision he’s made in office has been an abject disaster is a bit hyperbolic, no? Worse than that, this attitude is damaging to our nation in numerous ways, not the least of which is letting the camel’s nose that is Russian misinformation under the tent.1 point

Are you referring to the guy on here who proudly said that if he was a commander that he would give Article 15s to those who didn’t have a covid shot and weren’t wearing their mask when required to do so? No, he won’t apologize.1 point

Respect your opinion but I think you are wrong for a host of reasons. 1. While not a treaty, in 1994 we negotiated and signed the Budapest Agreement. We promised to provide security for Ukraine in exchange for them giving up the third largest nuclear weapons stockpile in the world. This agreement made the world safer for almost 30 years. Were you upset when we threw our promise to Afghanistan away and fled in the middle of the night? We gave our word and at some point if we want to be respected as a world leader we have to honor our word. 2. For pennies on the dollar of our annual DoD budget we have enabled Ukraine to bleed a near-peer Superpower and relegate them to chump status. Russia has taken STAGGERING losses. Putin's grand plan to rebuild the Soviet Union died on the battlefield of Ukraine. A lot of independent agencies have validated Russian losses. Russia started the war with 3,000 operational tanks, in just over a year over 1,000 have been destroyed and a further 500 captured. Half of their armor gone...HALF. The UK Defense ministry estimates Russia has lost 200,000 soldiers in the war with Ukraine, with 60-80,000 of those being KIA. I almost feel guilty for the average Russian soldier who was lied to by a despot dictator. My sympathy ended when they started murdering civilians. This conflict and our $113B investment has humbled Russia for generations to come. I can't stand this administration for breaking our word to the Afghans and running away during the night but I applaud them for holding the line against Russia. I think this also sends a strong message to China. Again, all of pennies on the dollar and no blood from American soldiers (minus people who volunteered to go fight).1 point

Which country invaded which again? I cannot believe the amount of Putin simps in the military. A major near-peer adversary is getting their ass handed to them militarily, economically, and culturally, but because your guy isn't in the White House you're upset about it.1 point
-
Agreed. You know who else really doesn’t want to see us/NATO get directly involved in the war? The Russians. ‘Cause they’ll get their dicks kicked in if that happens. They can threaten expansion of the war all they want, but they won’t because it makes zero sense for them. It’s an empty threat.1 point

James Denton and Brent "Brandini" Brandon were flying an EF-111 proving electronic attack and support the opening sorties on night one of the Desert Storm air campaign. An Iraqi Mirage F-1EQ was attempting to counter the strike package and ended up being engaged by an F-15C. The Iraqi pilot defeated the Eagle's missile shot and as he completed his defense maneuver by chance he ended up on the six of the EF-111. The Mirage launched two R.550 Magic air-to-air missiles which Denton and Brandon were able to defeat. With the EF-111 skimming the desert the Mirage pilot became fixated and attempted to close for a guns kill. Late in the engagement Denton made a hard out of plane maneuver, the Mirage pilot completed fixated on the gun kill didn't recognize the maneuver in the dark and impacted the desert under the EF-111 as Denton pulled vertical. The aircraft 66-016 sits at the entrance to base housing at Cannon AFB, NM. Two days later Jose Rico Rodriguez were tasked to fly DCA in the western sector as the HVACAP. At the last minute he was retasked and scrambled and switched to OCA to support the exfil of a strike package. Rico and his flight lead were engaged by two Mig-29s with his wingman shooting down the lead Mig-29. Rico ended up merging with the second Mig-29 passing just 50' off his wing. A dog fight ensued with Rico ultimately maneuvering to a position where he was about to take an AIM-7 Sparrow shot. The Mig-29 flying at just 300' rolled inverted and attempted an unsuccessful Split S, he impacted the desert giving Rico the second maneuver kill of Desert Storm. Rico would go on the get a second kill in the same tail number (85-114) which is still active and serving at Kadena (although the Eagles are leaving Kadena, we will see where it ends up).1 point

Columbus was my #1! I've got my orders already and I'm PCS'ing from my current base on 1 Apr. I have a 6 May RNLTD with a 6 Jun class date. The other guy in my sqdn that got picked up got Laughlin (his #1) with the same PDD, RNLTD, and class date as I have. I talked with the Transition flight folk at Columbus and they said that even though AFPC told me I'm in the 6 Jun class, I'm not currently on that class's roster and it's pretty common to sit and wait at least a few months as your class date will keep getting delayed since they're pretty backed up. For Columbus, they said the first month you arrive they let you get settled and then after that you'll be assigned a casual job where you'll work about 4 hrs a day. My dream of being a casual captain is coming true 🥰1 point
