OK, I see where you’re going. But things like social media, smart phones with TikTok, who kids associate with, what is done with kid’s education, what values/morals they’re taught from a young age (i.e. their “moral base”that’s built early in life), what movies/shows/video games they’re allowed to consume, and more - 100% completely within purview, control, and responsibility of parents. If parents aren’t around to do their job or they abrogate it to society, they are at fault for the outcome. So yes, parent’s failures (either not being present or not doing their job even when around) are the ultimate RC of the terrible societal products many children become…and the cycle continues. Fix the prevalent lazy/absent/shitty parents in our modern society and you’ll fix a lot of the issues in our country. But that takes selfless work, and by and large a huge portion of America are selfish and lazy today.

Agree, but... The courts aren't actually breaking up families, per se. The courts are incentivizing the breakup of families, via application of shitty statute and case law. It's a low risk payoff for one of the parties that enters family court, statistically speaking. But, even then, the table is set long before the divorce petition gets filed. This exact thing happened to me. I received an LOC over it. I freaked out at the time. I actually reached out to Toro on this forum to talk about it because we tend to instill this fear of god into officers that any sort of paperwork is a career ender. Toro was great an shared some of his experiences, got me to think with a whole lot more perspective. Long story short it wasn't a career ender, and had very little effect on me. But it was still any annoying experience to go through. Turning in my GTC when I separated was one of the happiest days of my life. Its one of the dumbest programs on the planet and in so many manners I find it completely unethical. The member is the only person who bears any accountability for negative impacts of using a GTC. The government in no was assumes any of the risk. Example: Its a credit card, but its tied to your personal credit. Or, you have to pay it on time, but we don't have to pay you on time.

On three separate occasions I have gone 4 months overdue and one time it was so far overdue that they shut down my card. Not once I have I seen at hit on my credit score. One of these times I even had a finance SSgt over the should my entire voucher process and somehow it still got fucked up. I put everything that's reimbursable on the card and nothing that isn't...if it's on the card, it's the governments responsibility (as long as I do my due diligence and submit the voucher on time). Our FM tried to dick swing on this issue and used the threat of a credit hit to try to coerce me into paying the bill. Dude, I paid cash for my last house and car, and have a credit score of 800+...I'll be just fine, do you damn job and pay my card. How fucking hard is this! On another note, it's been over a year and they still haven't unfucked our (part-timer) flight pay. It's pretty humorous to log into mypay and have 7 pay stubs per month, with half of them being $3.33 to catch up my flight pay. There are several commercial pubs: ARCO, Peterson's, Barron's, plus some related web sites for practice tests. They're all about the same, but it doesn't hurt to use them all. Go to a well known book store and buy them, or a used bookstore to get them cheaper (try to get the latest version). None of them are perfect, and none of them give you the exact test, but they will all describe and allow practice on the TYPE of questions asked. Also, for the Verbal sections, many people recommend a GRE or GMAT verbal analogies study guide, which are apparently similar to the type of thing you'll see on the AFOQT. The most important thing is to understand the way the test will be administered...several (a half dozen or so) strictly timed sub-sections. Practice taking the tests under strict time restraints as the books suggest. Time management is frequently as important as the material itself.

I used these: Barron's Acro Flight Acro Officer I found the Barron's tests to be the most useful, but all three just got me into the AFOQT thinking mindset. I saw it as an investment into my future. I've spent more on one book for college and got less out of it than I did with these three. -Getzen

Just got my scores back today Pilot: 98, Nav: 84, AA: 75, Ver: 66, Quant: 76 All i did was study and do the sample and practice tests in the ARCO a couple of weeks prior to get a feel for the test and my weak areas. I was already familiar with the aviation knowlegde (I'm a CFI student, so I've been studying that for a while) and instrument interp. My weal areas was verb and having to do math without a calculator again. The verbal is a little more difficult to correct, but the math wasn't, just got the pencil out and practiced my short hand. Note: learn frational and diecimal relationships, this help me out big on time, i just looked at a fraction and new what ball park the decimal number was, no long division needed. Test day, I got 8 hrs of sleep, got up 2 hrs before the test to allow my body and mind to fully wake up. I dressed nice, e.i khaki slacks, button down, and nice shoes, to make myself feel more professional and get in that mindset. I ate a full breakfast and had a small coffee, and relaxed. While taking the test, I actually found the areas either easier or the same difficulty and the practice tests in the ARCO book. Some of the words were even the same as the ARCO tests. Time managment is huge, I brought a stop watch to time myself, when about 20 seconds were left for a section, i just started to fill in bubbles since to do not get penalized for having the wrong answer. DO NOT LEAVE ANY BUBBLES EMPTY!!! Thats my advice Good luck
