Under a discord pseudonym that uses your actual first name Jesus H Christ 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ I can see the cyber awareness CBT update now.. Situation of the day: You're T-bagging n00bs with your CoD buddies in discord and a new user named "Steve the sketchy spy" joins the chat. He sends you an attachment labeled "super dope government intel brief". Do you: a) open the attachment b) call the New York Times c) go off the grid d) alert your security manager d INCORRECT e) you forgot to pull your CAC first standby for remediation6 points

Fair enough Ukraine is a significant food (wheat) and mineral exporter, largest country in Europe and strategically placed for access to Mid-East / Central Asia so I'll just disagree on their importance but BO should not be an echo chamber so there we go.1 point

I didn't mention support for or against, but rather the perception of a "purely political prosecution"...which is supported by my 69 second Google search of published polls. To your point, CNN has it as a majority in support, ABC has a plurality. Based on the the highly divided political arena in America currently, neither is highly surprising. Agree to disagree for now. Beria's famous quote (Show me the man and I'll show you the crime) keeps bubbling up in my mind when I see updates in this case. I'm trying to find reasons why it's not applicable, but so far I haven't seen any reason that it's not. America's rule of law has meant that the law is equally applied to all, regardless of class or political boundaries. That's partially why the civil rights movement was so successful, the rigged jury and court system was unfounded and couldn't withstand the scrutiny when it was exposed to the country. If the DA has a history of downgrading felonies to misdemeanors, then upgrades a misdemeanor past the statute of limitations, that the DOJ decided against prosecuting....it begs the question of how that is equal justice? With all the discussion recently about bias in every system, I think I'm starting to recognize when someone's biases are unduly influencing the outcome. And that's my issue...no one can or will. So again, it seems that instead of Blind Justice in this case, the DA is explicitly viewing this for political gain...either his or the Party's, which brings me full circle back to Stalin. Just to clarify my point, my main point is about our Court system, not election politics (tangential at best). I would hope that elected officials would course correct back to equally applied justice, regardless of the (R) / (D) following their name.1 point

The mechanism by which non-ionizing radiation is leading to these cancers continues to be challenged by the status quo establishment. In fairness, this presentation didn't really provide an insight into how said mechanism (alpha-ERD) promotes the cell decay we know as cancer. I think he makes a very compelling argument for how the magnetic field induced by high power RF bleed into the cockpit, messes with your short-term functioning, but that's not what this is about in the end. All we have is correlation (our anecdotal observations as mil pilots, ergo members of a high-incidence demographic). I went down the rabbit hole of cosmic radiation wrt airline pilots, and skin cancers. Those have a lot easier mechanisms to understand and causally point to. The circadian rhythm disruption is another one that the status quo likes to downplay, but even that one is easy to understand in the literature available. The cell-restoring processes associated with sleep on a predictable schedule are straight up robbed of that opportunity on a chronic basis by those who choose to work in shift occupations of the WOCL kind. Add on top of that a propensity for cell mis-repair associated with advanced age independent of exposure (aka airlining/shift-working in your 60s) and this is where the cargo/redeye folks suffer the most, much as they like to downplay circadian swaps (relative to their diurnal loved ones at home, which force the swap effectively) as not statistically significant to their peer group cancer incidence. After all, few people would want to publicly admit their pursuit of [proverbial] 400K/yr might be knowingly killing you early. It is certainly a fascinating topic to continue research on, especially as those with vested interests who absolutely do not want to ever concede there could be a chronic mechanism where non-ionizing radiation sources could be pinpointed as carcinogenic, least of which the VA. The fight continues.1 point

This kid also gets the award for absolute dumbest reason to mishandle classified. Not because you're going to whistle blow a perceived ethical violation, not because you're a no shit spy (which is shitty but at least you have a motivation, money, power, whatever...) Not because you're a fast burner and thought you could get some work done on the weekend.... Like hell..... even Trump clearly had an agenda to drop some bomb shell leaks right into the election...... No..... you literally leaked a trove of sensitive information to impress a group of adolescent Call of Duty gamers..... how fucking moronic do you get.....1 point

Just in 2 months, several more countries are cozing up to China economically. Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Kenya, etc... Today, Brazil president visits China. Calls to end Dollar dominance. https://www.ft.com/content/669260a5-82a5-4e7a-9bbf-4f41c54a6143 France. Macron recently visited China. Encourages Europe to associations with US. “The paradox would be that, overcome with panic, we believe we are just America’s followers,” Macron said in the interview. “The question Europeans need to answer … is it in our interest to accelerate [a crisis] on Taiwan? No. The worse thing would be to think that we Europeans must become followers on this topic and take our cue from the U.S. agenda and a Chinese overreaction,” he said. https://www.politico.eu/article/emmanuel-macron-china-america-pressure-interview/ The world is changing, and not in our favor.1 point

Unless you're being sarcastic and I can't tell behind a screen (then disregard), but I think you might be looking at it the wrong way. This entire forum's existence is based on the premise of sharing information to help each other out. And as a character attribute helping people out when it has no benefit to yourself is a worthwhile goal. What you do or don't bring to the table is responsible for whether you're hired or not (this applies to me also).1 point

Like the other guys said, the process doesn't work in a way where you just start email random documentation around. The reserves are a little different and I can't speak to that, but if you go the unsponsored route, you'll work through a reserve officer recruiter. If you apply directly to units, bogidope is your best bet for a POC. As for the guard, you need to be checking bogidope, the individual guard websites, and even their wing's recruiting facebook page. Not every unit announced their hiring boards in the same way. They all have their own packet requirements, but most contain pretty much the same stuff that @vipermaverickk mentioned. Some want more, some want less. I've seen requests from everything from 2 to 5 letters of recommendation, so it all just depends. Some units want physical packets mailed in, some want digital, and some want both. It'll take some leg work from you to find the POCs for each unit if it isn't readily available on bogidope. You might have to call around and just get in touch with SOMEONE at a unit to get the number for one of the pilots. Bogidope is great, but it is not 100%. Not every unit updates their information or board information with them, so while it is a great resource, do not think that it is the only place you need to look.1 point

I had mine put: MEMORANDUM FOR AIR FORCE OFFICER SELECTION BOARD ... To Whom It May Concern: Some boards wanted it formatted and addressed a specific way. I'd recommend asking your LORs to give you a Word document format of the letter under the stipulation that all you're changing is the heading, date, and who it is addressed to. If they're comfortable, they'll let you.1 point

No, I just responded to someone in another thread with a similar question, I will give you the same answer. It was 14 hours when I went through 4 years ago fyi. Building has no windows, food is mediocre, its a super stressful environment, and is another opportunity to loose you ticket to the big dance before you get there. If you have the opportunity to get your PPL I would recommend doing it.1 point

Someone is welcome to correct me, but I still think Reserves can hire just like guard units. The unsponsored board thing is a separate entity where you get picked up for a slot, fill out your dream sheet either before or during UPT and/or talk with units you want to fly for during that time, then finish UPT and accept the offer you most desire. Guard does seem more open about hiring. I think the unsponsored thing is what people do when they are more focused on getting into an airplane faster and worrying about what they fly later.1 point

I'll give my $.02 1. Just depends, but I think having a civilian cyber job would be beneficial as you're not legally bound by a commitment in most cases. 2. Again, it just depends... But you still have a commitment that you sign, so I wouldn't sign your life away for a cyber job in the AF if you want to fly jets. 3. Just study all the form S books, but focus on Math Knowledge, Table Reading, Instrument Comprehension, and Aviation Information. Those are the only 4 that count towards the pilot score on the new T version (Arithmetic Reasoning is no longer factored into the pilot score). Make sure you know the new reduced time for Instrument Comprehension (5 minutes instead of 6), and study accordingly. https://access.afpc.af.mil/pcsmdmz/Form T.HTML Use this site in addition to any and all form S study guides. PRO TIP: The book with the F-15 on the cover is excellent. 4. 69 is definitely the best number, but that has nothing to do with the TBAS. On a serious note, even if there was such a thing as a "magic number" (which I'm pretty sure was just misinterpretation), nobody on here would be able to tell you what it is since it violates the test rules (think Fight Club). For most people to get scores in the 90's, you need to be in the 100-200 or 201+ hours column. PCSM 2.0 is highly focused on flight hours, so don't get discouraged if your score looks crappy with 40-60 hours. 5. Unsponsored is only AFRES I believe. I honestly don't have a correct answer, but I think last I heard it was twice a year: once shortly after the new fiscal year, and once in the beginning of the summer. 6. I'm not a pilot, so I'm not qualified to answer this. Also, look into the Guard too because a lot of Guard units fly fighters.1 point

I don't think you need to disclose encounters with police unless you were arrested or convicted of a criminal offense. Refer to excerpt from form SF86 below, I doubt MEPS checks anywhere close to what a clearance investigator would. Similarly, for medical history, I wouldn't list any doc visits in which you weren't diagnosed with a condition or prescribed medication. And I don't mean the flu or cold medicine. "- In the past seven (7) years have you been issued a summons, citation, or ticket to appear in court in a criminal proceeding against you? (Do not check if all the citations involved traffic infractions where the fine was less than $300 and did not include alcohol or drugs) - In the past seven (7) years have you been arrested by any police officer, sheriff, marshal or any other type of law enforcement official? - In the past seven (7) years have you been charged, convicted, or sentenced of a crime in any court? (Include all qualifying charges convictions or sentences in any Federal, state, local, military, or non-U.S. court, even if previously listed on this form). - In the past seven (7) years have you been or are you currently on probation or parole? - Are you currently on trial or awaiting a trial on criminal charges?"1 point

Option 3, join the Guard/Reserves. Find a unit with an air frame you want to fly, join the guard when you're 17, get help from them to pay for any college, be enlisted and do your Guard drills all through college, and then apply for a pilot slot with your unit after you get your degree. I know more than a few guys that took this route1 point

Aviation is a beautiful life but very demanding, know that everything has to be just right! You have to be able to develop a passion for aviation to make it right with self-satisfaction rewards. Always show an interest in improving yourself. Be willing to learn in an ever-changing industry. Invest in yourself and know when to take the initiative.1 point

Will respectfully disagree times two and you have a lot more perspective on this than I do. (You're older) You're not going to get the Japan/South Korea/Taiwan scenerio here. That's a flaw. We needed Japan to fall and we need Tawain to remain "independent" of China. We dont need anything from Ukraine except for them not piss off the Russians enough to disrupt our internet. Ukraine? GTFO. That's the world we're living in.-1 points
