Trans men aren’t men. Trans women aren’t women. Men can’t become women. Women can’t become men. There is nothing else to say. Call me whatever you want. I don’t care. This is pure fucking madness.5 points

I think OTS dudes should have the highest percentage since it took me 12 weeks what took you guys 4 years. That’s efficiency!5 points

A male that has gone through puberty is taller, has greater muscle mass, larger lungs and heart, and skeletal construction that enhances mechanical advantage. Decreasing testosterone removes exactly none of that after puberty. The U.S. National Womens Soccer team played warm up games against U15 boys AND LOST. There is a difference and ignoring the science of biology does not change that.4 points
-
Your last paragraph is the whole point. Why do you suppose there aren't any FtM trans athletes dominating men's basketball, swimming, power lifting, track...?4 points
-
So you honestly believe that if someone with Lebron James skill and body type were to start hormone therapy, post puberty, and then displayed the same hormone levels as a women, he could be allowed to compete with women and that would be fair? You're willing to ignore the massive muscular build that occurs during puberty, the kinematic differences (specifically in the hips and shoulders) that allow a male frame to generate higher force levels, and the significant aggressiveness that is innate to the human male brain that onsets during puberty? None of those things, which are permanent and scientifically proven changes to male anatomy, factor into your understanding? This isn't about trans hate. This is about lack of acknowledging facts. Beyond that, jumping from "that's not fair" to "you're a trans hater" is completely disingenuous. Turn off CNN and go go listen to people that disagree with you with the intent to learn, not respond.4 points
-
False. Just because testosterone levels are lower does not mean that the kinematics of a biological male have been changed to that of a biological female. Quit using disingenuous arguments.4 points

It shocks me the amount of things the Army has been given. I’ve worked with some phenomenal, intelligent Army bros who are empowered to lead and get shit done, the only problem is they’re in a category that makes up 0.0069% of the Army.2 points

I don’t believe that’s remotely true. I believe that’s what has been jammed down your throat by your choice of media. “You’re just (fill in the blank) phobic!” is the battle cry of the ignorant. Put the media down, give people the benefit of the doubt and you’ll actually realize 90% of the country are reasonable people who aren’t super different from each other outside of some differing opinions. But those differing opinions do not make them bigots, phobic, hateful, etc. Those terms describe single digit percentages in this county, thought the media and the feds want you to believe they describe 50% or more.2 points

That's my hometown. EGR is decidedly not representative of the GRR writ large. They actively police up and relocate the homeless to downtown because that's where the shelters are. Heaven forbid the old money get exposed to the unwashed masses. I will agree that GRR is pretty will run, but the secret is that moderate stance...but they also do an excellent job of hiding the rot...and there is a LOT of rot in GRR.2 points

Jam, You are so off base it’s scary. First Neely had over 40 prior arrests, and in the recent past he arbitrarily punched a 67 year old woman in the face messing up her jaw..He wasn’t provoked by the lady, just decided to punch her. He threatened everyone on the train, so don’t try to Philadelphia Lawyer your way around the truth. This guy was mentally unstable, and a predator. My Daughter lives in NYC and takes the subway, I grew up in the Bronx..the media is making this shithe$# look like he was some innocent guy, who enjoyed impersonating Michael Jackson on the subway,Far from it! He ranked in the top 50, I repeat TOP 50 criminals in New York City…he got 110% of what he deserved.dot period. You’re clueless if you defend this clown. read below..play the game, pay the price Neely had committed a series of violent crimes in New York City. In 2015, he kidnapped a 7-year-old girl. In 2019, he punched a 64-year-old man in the face. In 2021, he punched a 67-year-old woman in the face as she exited the subway, causing serious injuries. Despite being arrested 44 times, some netizens feel that Neely has never been held accountable for his actions and has not faced "real justice" for terrorizing the people of New York City.2 points

Attributing disagreement with fundamentally differing underpinnings of reality does not equal hate. If you honestly see red where I see green and we disagree about what color paint is on the wall, I don't hate you because you see red. My advocacy is for you receiving proper medical consultation and help actually concerned with your medical condition (color blindness), not changing the color spectrum for everyone else with properly developed color vision. If a vocal minority wants to shout at the world that green is now red and any disagreement is hatred, it doesn't make it factually less correct. What do I hate? Anyone who is using those people, who are very much in pain, in order to push their version of tearing down and rebuilding society. If someone (an adult) want to alter themselves, that's okay so long as the follow is also okay: acknowledging that the person who does so is in extreme need for help, and that not one single person otherwise is guilty of doubleungoodthink for not accepting them as suddenly a member of the other sex.1 point

No surprise here but it is now official, the FBI is broken and corrupt as the Special Counsel John Durham has released his report to the Director of the FBI, the Attorney General and Congress. It is a sad day for our country as an arm of the government placed its finger on the scales based on political hate. Special Counsel John Durham found that the Department of Justice and FBI "failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law" when it launched the Trump-Russia investigation. "Based on the review of Crossfire Hurricane and related intelligence activities, we conclude that the Department and the FBI failed to uphold their mission of strict fidelity to the law in connection with certain events and activities described in this report," "This information in part triggered and sustained Crossfire Hurricane and contributed to the subsequent need for Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation," the report states. "In particular, there was significant reliance on investigative leads provided or funded (directly or indirectly) by Trump's political opponents." "FBI personnel also repeatedly disregarded important requirements when they continued to seek renewals of that FISA surveillance while acknowledging – both then and in hindsight – that they did not genuinely believe there was probable cause to believe that the target was knowingly engaged in clandestine intelligence activities on behalf of a foreign power, or knowingly helping another person in such activities," the report continued. "And certain personnel disregarded significant exculpatory information that should have prompted investigative restraint and re-examination."1 point

Complete dumbassery on display. It’s impossible to transition. You need help not accommodation. The whole idea is preposterous and should be laughed at until the medical community pulls their collective head out of their ass, and is honest about “trannie medicine”. Then we can discuss proper psychological and mental health strategies to help deluded people. Any MD who cuts/practices trans-quakery medicine should lose their license and probably be charged criminally too. No phobia, just recognition of truth.1 point

Army Patriots will kill you without a thought because the right light turns on or doesn’t turn on. They do what they’re told and critical thought is discouraged because they’re punished for mistakes. Stay TF away from them. The USAF should own their own air defenses.1 point

To continue pulling this thread, prevention is the key to this stuff. Lifting weights for function and not just show muscles and stretching is massive. It isn’t the panacea that’ll prevent all issues, but it’s much harder to try to fix it later. Also, don’t think since you’re in the T-1 track and heavy communities that this stuff won’t get you. I know a bunch of AC-130 guys with major neck problems from being on NVG and looking left out of their side mounted HUD for hours and hours. Other mobility guys with back, hip, neck problems as well.1 point

To the OP, to tag on to what Huggy said, flying heavies is great for your body. I have about 3000 hours in helicopters and I have multiple degenerative discs and arthritis in my lower spine that are directly from the vibrations. I'm 41 and I can feel it now, I'm not looking forward to when I'm older. Enjoy flying heavies and having a body not break down on you.1 point

Went to the ER 3 weeks ago due to the ol’ back. I hope to God the OHWS program stays for the duration of careers for the younger guys. They deserve to not end up with the necks and backs that most of us have after a career of fighters.1 point

The challenge of avoiding stupidity in training is ignorance. You don’t know how stupid you are until you become experienced enough to realize how stupid you were. Thinking back on UPT, it’s terrifying. I have incredible respect for the instructors who face the potential demise of ignorant stupidity each day, and face it with a smile.1 point

Just a comment... and maybe not directly related. But something to consider anyways. I got to know a whole bunch of pilots from all Services over the years, many of them at the Reno Air Races. We formed group that chats online. The bulk are Navy pilots; there's a lot of Marines too; and only a few of us from the AF. Last week, the discussion centered around some health issues. Nearly every one of the single-seat pilots that had served 20 years said that they are in varying levels of constant pain, due mainly to spinal or neck issues. Some of the stories are eye-opening. This matches my experience. I've got about 7,000 hours in ejection seats, and 4,000 of that is in the T-38A with a 35 lbs parachute on my back. My neck issues will be with me for life and they suck. I'm back to the spinal surgeon in 2 months for another procedure. I'm sure there are plenty of folks here on BO.net with similar experiences. Flying ejection seat aircraft is great. But realize the toll it will likely take on your body if you elect to stay with it for a long time. And for crying out loud, don't do stupid shit in flight training that will get you injured. It was never something I considered, especially when I was younger.1 point

It’s only getting worse… LSCO has fundamentally shifted the application but the mindset or “oh everything below X altitude is just mine,” has been hard solidified in two decades of COIN “Doctrine.” And in the next couple years we’re looking to greatly increase our SHORAD and protection at the Division level. So having just done the Suwalki gap warfighter I’d say you’re best bet to fit through that 80 mile corridor of airspace nightmare…. Is to not and just come down from Norway or something. Interesting datapoint on the Jordan Neely /Daniel Penny case. They both have crowd funding sites set up. Neely’s has raised just over $100k. Penny has $1.65 million as of this post.1 point

SocialID, you posted: “These incidents have dropped dramatically since I started laying over mostly in Midwestern small cities” What you really meant was mostly in Midwestern Republican cities. Fixt it for you😁 there was a glaring common thread in all the shithole cities you mentioned, and it begins with a “D” They ruin every place they touch..It took Rudy years to clean NYC up, and one term under DeBlasio and this new clown and we’re back to the days of Ft.Apache!1 point

Be sure to drop that one on the squadron WO when you show up. It turns out that experience is rather important when it comes to creating a well thought-out opinion on various subjects. You can think whatever you want about a subway event where none of us were present. You're welcome to completely ignore the fact that some dudes on this board have significant real world experience and have had to make lethal-force decisions in real time, and might actually have some insight to the injustice and horrible long term social implications of this subway case. That aside, jumping directly to "old people's opinions don't matter" is another thing, and only serves to display your youth, arrogance and ignorance. Rule number one: Never pass up the opportunity to keep your mouth shut. Good luck out there kid.1 point

This is sad but true. I live in OC, CA. It’s a shitty feeling knowing that a home invader has more rights in your home than you do. My philosophy, If the guy doesn’t leave when he hears a shotgun rack, it’s the universe telling me that I’m spending the rest of life behind bars. I go through episodes where I want someone to break in, just so I can use some of my slugs. My wife lets me know that I can’t do this in CA or I’ll go to jail. The criminals know this too. I’d be right there with that Marine. I trust a Marine over some punk with a loud mouth. He picked the wrong dude, so the universe took that little bastard back.1 point

100%. Though it will still likely be geographically linked. Meaning, see something go down in a Dem state, turn around and walk away. See something go down in a conservative state, help out, because they’ll applaud you instead of charging you. The last shithole Dem state I lived in, a local guy was being charged with murder for killing the aggressor in a home invasion who attacked his wife. The DA said it was murder because the attacker didn’t have a weapon and the homeowner did. So lesson learned at the time was if you had a home invasion, kill the fucker, but then drop one of your firearms by him and get his prints on it…say he found the gun in a kitchen drawer. How fucked is it that thought process even had to exist for a violent event in your own fucking home.1 point

Stupid post bro. He wasn't saying this specific event had a sexual assault. He's saying the prosecution of the Marine is going to stop others from intervening in the future. There have been links in this thread to youtube videos of assaults and even rape on public transit with no intervention from bystanders. The reaction to this event is only going to increase that risk.1 point

I was having a rough time in 2021. I wasn't feeling 100% healthy in the mind. During this time, my mom let me know that she found a news clipping that my Grandfather wanted her to read to me over 30 years ago. It fell out if a book randomly. He's the one who got me into aviation. The universe does some weird shit sometimes.1 point

If you’re worried about important family events, etc. you’d miss, the guard is generally much better about taking care of people than AD. But, you are full time, so I wouldn’t expect to skate out on a bunch of trips. And as a new guy, going on trips is great for many reasons, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.1 point

Go to AFSOC. Fly armed overwatch in an Air Tractor. That's probably the coolest thing the AF has invested in recently. Wherever you end up, dont tell them your baseops.net name....or let them know you asked this question to bunch of dudes on baseops. They may question your judgment. Lol1 point

I would have to agree with everyone so far... Personally Tweets kicked my ass, but I had a good attitude about it and the instructors in my flight helped me out by giving me remedial training, granted it made my life harder than it should have but atleast they took their extra time to help me out. Now when I got to Corpus Christi I had to redeem myself in the instrument phase (all of them) and make up for my poor performance in the 37. just my $.02 cheers1 point

I think you may have mis-interpreted what you heard. If you hook 3 rides in a row in UPT, you are sent to a performance review (88 Ride). Same thing happens if you hook a checkride. If you hook the review, or any subsequent checkride and you are sent to an elimination ride (89 Ride). Hook that and you are standing tall in front of the man. Its up to the WG/CC to re-instate you or send you packing. You are in no way 'forced' through UPT. You can tell very quickly those who dont have the desire or drive to be there. They dont last. If you dont want to be there, it will show. No one has a gun to your head saying 'you WILL pass this flight.' Thats how UPT works. Someone with nav school experience educate us on how it works there... Chuck [ 21. July 2006, 11:14: Message edited by: Chuck17 ]1 point

Yeah no shit, my original post was about NCAA rules regarding testosterone treatment and legal levels. But since you bring it up, would you say that if a transgender athlete undergoes testosterone treatment and has brought their levels down to the same as the average female that it would be fair for them to compete with women?0 points

Exactly my point, you don't care about a level playing field in womens sports You just hate trans people-2 points

Ah yes, a surgeon that does a procedure on an adult that specifically requests it to improve their quality of life should be criminally charged. This is why your "we're not bigots" cries hold no weight. People like y'all would've been the exact same people that were vehemently anti-gay people 10-20 years ago, but now thankfully that's at least more normalized. Thank goodness the amount of boomer-ass opinions on this thread aren't representative to what the majority of the population feels-4 points
