To tell if a party has traits of fascism, here's the acid test. - Are they attempting to disarm citizens? - Are they attempting to control the flow of information? - Are they trying to set up where the government controls your healthcare, housing, education, and welfare making you dependent on them? - Do they balk when you suggest making elections more secure? - Do they attempt to blame one racial group for the problems of the nation? - Are they trying to control academia and the media? - Are they wanting to pack the courts to suit themselves? - Do they call for violence against those that disagree with them? That tends to be your “real party of fascism!”6 points

Admin note - Filthy_Liar went off the deep end. I was allowing most of his posts until they were all complete crazy-town, "shoot em' up", civil war nonsense. It's a tough line to draw because I'm all about letting folks post whatever they want, but there's definitely a limit, and Filthy_Liar exceeded it. My hope is that it was some kind of drunken keyboard warrior stuff... That said, I've tipped off the appropriate authorities. "Free speech" doesn't apply to shouting "fire" in a crowded theater, nor "I'm going to start shooting".4 points

It's not the "exclusive domain of liberals," but they use it far more than the conservatives...2 points

Location cannot be stressed enough. They're not just not great.. they are in the absolute ass crack of America. And Im not talking about what I've heard, I've been to all the bases and lived at 2 of them. For married folks it's terrible for the spouse and kids. For single folks it's terrible because good luck finding anyone to date other than the #peopleofwalmart locals. If you're one of those guys who thinks location isn't a big deal or the locations aren't that bad based on your year and change spent there in UPT 10-15 yrs ago I've got an experiment for you. After work one day sit down with your wife and tell her you got orders to Laughlin. There's nothing you can do, you guys are moving at the end of the summer. See how that conversation goes and then come tell me location isn't a big deal.2 points

I can’t disagree with you there. But the electoral college and “unencumbered gun rights” has zero to do with one party/segment of the population forcing its will on another. Unless you’re suggesting that the left doesn’t support the Constitution?1 point

Not commenting on the merits or lack there of of any of these issues. Just highlighting that one party/segment of the population forcing its will on another is not the exclusive domain of liberals.1 point

I bet it's slightly larger. Maybe by a hundred or so... All this talk about how great or terrible cities are... Don't forget that there are large swaths of this country that feel underrepresented. They feel that cities like SF, Seattle, Denver, or Chicago get to dictate what goes on in their states. The fact that things like Texit exists (actual state legislators signaling support) or rural counties voting to leave their state point to a much larger dissatisfaction with city-state politics. I feel the addition of TQ+ to the LGB asking along with social media is only accelerating the issue. But I feel that was the goal even 20 years ago. So, now we have states voting in sweeping legislation one way or another, like MN or FL to name a few.1 point

What’s the latest rumint from AETC about the future of T-38 Phase 3 and IFF? Heard some rumblings about a combined Fighter Bomber Fundamentals course replacing both, with an experiment running somewhere. Any first-hand experience or great insight on the board?1 point

I finished up an AMLO assignment fairly recently. You can look in Talent Marketplace during the bidding window under 621 MSOS to see the majority of AMLO positions. This Squadron is located at McGuire under the CRW and EC and has ADCON over the AMLOs. This includes a few locations in Europe, the Pacific, as well as the bulk of positions that are CONUS at Army or Marine bases. There are a few positions in Europe and the Pacific that are ADCON under USAFE and PACAF. Those positions tend to be exec heavy. I'd personally go for a 621 MSOS AMLO billet. The positions under the MSOS vary greatly depending on unit. All AMLOs will be LZSO and DZCO trained, and perform DZ and LZ ops, frequency varying depending on unit. There's also quite a bit of work done with Army or Marine units in helping them Coordinate SAAMs, look up regs, communicate with TACC or AMD, prep cargo on occasion, and work as AMC Mobility liaisons during exercises. Usually you'll sit in an Army or Marine G4 office, and also work with their G3s and G5s. Feel free to PM me if you'd like more specific locations, info or experiences. I can email you at your af.mil with an AMLO 101 PowerPoint that includes locations. I wanted to at least reply and advertise the AMLO position as a good deal for the right people. With the stand-up of the 621 MSOS, promotion rates have been better overall. They usually are looking for 3rd assignment or IPs in their MWS at least. There is one deployment shared by the squadron in the middle east, 4 months long, and then various TDYs to support ops in Europe or exercises elsewhere.1 point

Nothing discussed in this thread is worthing killing another human over. Most of us are just a bunch of washed up military aviators with no more war to fight. Limited Government-Hooray. My political view. Dont harm the kids. Make less laws instead of more.1 point

It’s hard for conservatives to find common ground with liberals when the latter refuse to acknowledge wrongdoing from a member of their own party. A few acknowledge the wrongdoing but then refuse to admit there is a double standard in the application of the law. The few liberal voices on this board often lament that conservatives keep mentioning civil war, despite the fact that the majority of the media institution in America has continuously demonized the other side of the aisle and cast them as enemies of the people for the last 6-9 years. If you’re a liberal and you don’t think Hilary was let off the hook due to the FBI playing politics then you’re no better than a conservative that argues Trump is without fault. The liberals that refuse to uphold their party to the same standards that they weigh the opposition party against are nothing more than hypocrites, and are just as responsible for the erosion of trust in America as the forever Trumpers.1 point

My personal gripes and those of bros at a UPT base on why these assignments are hated by some: - terrible schools around UPT bases for their kids - little to no jobs available for their spouse in the local area unless they want to use their masters degree to steam milk at Starbucks - DoD level jobs for their spouse…lol - the base itself is shitty - on base housing agency tries to F you at every turn - timeline rules all, to hell with trying to make students better, just push them through. One size fits all cookie cutter approach to students that are struggling. - a syllabus written by absolute retards - management that doesn’t have the balls to do what’s best for the students/IPs because though that may be best for the AF, it’s not best for the timeline and thus not best for their careers - Oh you left the CAF as a 4E/IP, well have fun trying to get back to the TX as a major, unless you want to go to Korea, holoman, eielson, etc. BTW you’re now behind your peers so good luck catching back up as a major and staying in the CAF if that’s what you want. There’s so much more but it’s Friday and not worth it to keep typing.1 point

For me, the job AD offered was much better. When it stopped being fun, I left. But AGR never appealed to me because I couldn't achieve the same professional goals.1 point

It was a little harder getting ATIS in the Huey single pilot. We were so slow, it'd change several times from the time I was 7 miles out to touch down. So much ATIS. I have nightmares about it.1 point

For single officers (which if you're talking about the dorms, I guess you are) finances are rarely a problem. The single guys in my flight generally have nicer cars , probably since they don't have time to spend their money on much else down here. As far as the investments, I try to do the Roth and the TSP. The Roth is just my retirement plan. The TSP is nice cuz they take it directly out of your paycheck, if you never see it you never miss it, right? Anyway, I plan on using it for a house when my 20-30 years is up.1 point
