Is this the same government that allows squatters to pirate someone’s home, and then forces the owners to endure lengthy waiting periods before eviction action…oftentimes without further reprisal to the criminals? Or is it the other government that forces me to spend exorbitant amounts of money for a pool fence to prevent trespassing kids from drowning on my private property? Or perhaps it’s the other, other government that wants me to gain their permission before cutting down dead trees on my land? Loud music, gunshots in residential, trash burning…maybe you should stop being a tight wad and move out of the slums.4 points

Here's where you lost the thread. You were doing well. Are conservatives so far on their heels now that they're arguing for no government involvement at all? Because that's not conservatism, it's not even libertarianism, it's anarchy. The right to property includes protection against other people whose actions would prevent you from using/enjoying yours the way you see fit. No matter how hard we try, ultimately, that is the subjective line that needs to be defined with limiting principles. Your entire first paragraph was a great list of oversteps, but it's pretty nuts to tell someone that they should move out of the slums as though that's the only place you'll ever be where someone is playing loud music at 3:00 a.m. You should spend some time if you ever get the chance talking to someone who deals with code enforcement at the city or town level. They're not going to be able to justify everything, but a lot of the rules that seem absurd are actually based on very difficult to decide cases. For example, I found it thoroughly obnoxious that our town has someone driving around making sure no one has overgrown yards (greater than 12"). And honestly, I don't think they should have someone who is proactively looking to enforce these rules, but the tall grasses very quickly become breeding grounds for rats and mice that migrate to the surrounding houses seeking shelter. I know this because my neighbor was overwhelmed by a flood of rats from my property, and when I finally got around to whacking down the overgrowth it looked like one of the biblical plagues scurrying away from my lot. My biggest problem with code enforcement is when the actual affected parties are all communicating and comfortable with a code violation, but the town is unwilling to waive policy. These laws and regulations exist to protect property owners from other property owners, so if the property owners don't care, the town shouldn't have any standing to enforce. That's where we start to see the real overreach.3 points

Are these things that have happened to you or just a list of Fox News prime time gripes? Regardless, thanks for validating my argument. The fact that you called it "the slums" is an overt admission that doing whatever you want on your property can have externalities and can make a whole area less nice. In an alternate reality we could have a nuanced discussion about which things the government should and shouldn't regulate on private property. No trash burning: probably makes sense. Overly specific pool fence laws: probably not. But you already came up with the most genius solution.. just stop being poor! Wonder if poor people have thought of that..3 points

This would suck. To be honest, I'd have no issues punching my neighbor in the face if they were this disrespectful. I live in CA and I would definitely be arrested and become the first person excuted here in the last few decades (because Im a white male and we're on the chopping blocks) lol. But to punch someone who deserves it, there is no better feeling on Earth.2 points

Change 1: new email is up. U2Recruiting@us.af.mil Feel free to use it now. Also feel free to contact me if you want to talk about the U-2.1 point

Apparently, the U-2 disinformation campaign at the UPT bases is alive and well. To cut to the chase: - The U-2 Program is hiring. There are no plans to not hire. If anyone tells you otherwise, irrespective of their rank, they are not telling you the truth. - The U-2 Program is accepting FAIP's. We have accepted FAIPS for at least 35 years, and there are no plans to stop hiring FAIPs. If anyone tells you otherwise, irrespective of their rank, they are not telling you the truth. - We now have some wiggle room on minimum hours. So if that is a concern, call us. We might be able to waive some of your hours. I don't know if this bad info emanates from the staff... or from UPT SQ/CC's (like it did a number of years ago)... or from exactly where. If you want the truth about the U-2 assignment, don't speak to your DO, nor your commander. Don't speak to AFPC (until it's time to get released, anyways). Don't speak to your buddy at Base X that "thought about applying, but found out a bunch of bad stuff." So who do you speak to? I'll get you in touch with the Recruiters, so contact me. One recruiter is a Reservist and I don't want to put his personal contact info in this post (he isn't on his govt email that much). Maj Beamer moved and a new active duty recruiter is settling in. Contact me privately for their contact info. As for me, I'm on the Global as Jonathan Huggins. Or you can pm me here. I'm out on leave for a few weeks and won't be checking email until mid July, so ping me here if it is time critical. If you want U-2 facts, go to the source. That source is centered in a room that measures about 40x15 in the zip code of 95903. If the person you're talking to doesn't have a desk within 22 meters of that room, take what they say with a grain of salt.1 point

Thank you, I'll consider it after I get that sweet, sweet TAFMS check 😂 Actually no, because mouthpiece I mean press secretary is a terrible, thankless job and I've already been the mouthpiece at SERE with predictable results ::slap!:: I think you trailed off there, need to up the dose the Geritol again 🥃 But I think I know where you were going, and I just don't think that's likely. I also think I know Dem politics better than most around here, but then again I've been wrong once or twice before and I'm open to it happening again! If Diamond Joe steps down, Harris hand waive hand waive disappears and somehow Newsome of all people is the 2024 Dem nominee, I'll send ya a bottle of something decent. Care to make a bet on it being Biden? You certainly have more money to blow on stupid bets than I do! Well I spend 0.0 minutes watching cable news per week on average, so you'd have to tell me. Then again, bringing up Sky News as something fundamentally different than Fox News when it was also started by Rupert Murdoch...lol ok. If the facts support that then sure, investigate away! Investigating a sitting President is harder than a typical case, but certainly not without recent precedent! I can't say this enough times, if y'all want a broad prosecution of white collar, politically connected criminals: Your. Terms. Are. Acceptable.1 point

"Isn't ideal"...bro, with spin like that and after the asswhooping the mainstream press put on KJP then Kirby during the press breifing today, you might want to apply for the Press Secretary job. Both flat out refused to address the questions and Kirby after swooping in to save KJP, got so flustered he rage quit the press conference...talk about a bad optic. I honestly think the mainstream press has decided to exit Joe stage right. The are actually asking tough questions and dedicating actual airtime to discuss the investigation. It sure looks like they are prepping him for an offramp so crazy Newsome Combine above with the steady drip of details, and those details are not coming from Foxnews. I was watching the Sky News from Australia today (I have a work trip coming up), when the news broke that they traced the financial records and discovered Hunter bought his dad a burner phone that Joe used WHILE HE WAS THE VP. Hunter paid $300 a month for the ATT phone and purchased burner phone apps that allowed his to use one phone to create new/fake numbers for phone calls. As always....follow the money! Are you ready to acknowledge a Special Counsel should at least look and see if Joe is in fact the Big Guy and any wrongdoing occurred while he was VP?1 point

Yet the recent Trump indictments have only increased his standing in the GOP polls. Just as the Dems want. Trump is the most likely to lose against the Dems, why is it so difficult for conservatives to see that!?1 point

Dude, excellent questions. I don't think we can begin moves towards international accountability until we resolve it domestically. And that's purely pragmatic; without cohesive domestic unity we'd be unable to prosecute any international strategy. I am ready to forgive a lot of people provided they apologize for their egregious anti-American and anti-freedom behavior. Many people, even those on this board, were simply dumb, fearful and overly trusting of authority. They should be ashamed, but they should not be punished so long as they recognize and apologize for their errors. However, for the top tier of decision makers there absolutely must be ruthless accountability. Fauci, Collins and many media/political personalities need to be confronted and dealt with to solidify internal unity required to seek holding China itself accountable.1 point

We had a dude who said no to the jab and was sent home with like 6 rides remaining in the B-Course. So now, instead of having 4-ship flight lead, he's headed back to start the B-Course over again...what was the cost to the AF on that boneheaded move to not let him finish? One of the more gratifying things I did as a SQ/CC, was sign the paperwork to wash his UIF clean and send him back to training.1 point
