  1. There’s nothing better than an eight month delay for serious responses like these.

  2. They just need CNN to come help shape the narrative...you know for the cause and all that stuff.

  3. Right. Any organized union campaign to violate the status quo would clearly be detrimental to the cause. But as individuals, I can certainly see where a lack of progress would weigh heavily on the minds of the average pilot. It appears the union is committed to the RLA process, but if the process fails to give recourse, I think the "burn it all down" mentality could take hold. If unionization doesn't yield results, many pilots may not care if the union gets sued. I hope the Southwest contract sets the bar high for everyone else.

  5. Cool. I'm always impressed when people claim they condescended to imaginary people in conversations that didn't happen. I wonder how many French revolutions were instigated by people who were non-native to France. Which book would you have the imported rioters read? Maybe they've already read it. https://twitter.com/wokeflix_/status/1675021100730941440?s=20

  6. A new woke phrase I'm actually incorporating into my daily vocabulary.

  7. I think most of the country does not support the radical bullshit. However most of the country does share in the blame when they do nothing about it (except stick their heads in the sand/bitch about it at the BBQ but demonstrate no action). There’s a difference between actively believing in, and actioning on, these things and just standing on the sideline.

  8. But if it’s rare, then it’s outside the norm and not very relevant to the overall argument. You’ll always be able to find random one offs in just about anything in life. So again, what incentives does management at the legacies have to increase pay since they know they’ll always have a stream of qualified applicants and virtually none of their pilots with any seniority will leave for another carrier?

  9. But it is like that. at the moment, American, southwest, and FedEx pilots are coming to delta. is it droves…no. is it enough to have empty seats in Indoc classes and letters of resignation that definitely get management attention. … yes.

  10. My point was not that I deserve some sort of sticker, but that it doesn't line up with calling me a phony. People who didn't want to try their 100% hardest to fight their case against the jab didn't ship out. People looked at me like I was crazy for even trying as hard as I did.

  12. *snickers* RLA is caca. In practice, employment under it is organized labor in name only. In fairness, the airline schedules ponzi scheme *cough* I mean "arbitrage-by-seniority proxy", is a cake life compared to what the poor souls at the railroads keep facing pre and post Brandon PEB. Getting a PEB stuffed up their six over a meager soft pay ask, talk about an iron grip. Most know RLA makes their strike leverage moot. Between the NMB run the clock offense and the triple layer Russian Donbas-styled trenches that are the PEBs, nobody's striking in earnest. 1997 called, it wanted to remind you who's ultimately at the helm. At any rate, good luck to you all on the continued negotiations. Grab as much as you can negotiate before the music stops again. 🍺

  13. Thanks for the article, Biff. And I know it’s been mentioned before, but if any of you are looking for an amazing A-1 book, read this one!

  14. Yeah. But something has to give. I dont think there is an easy fix. Educating Americans about what is fucked with the status quo, electing people who care about helping others (not lining their pockets) enacting some sort of term limit for congress, making lobbying illegal and a bunch of other changes will help. Problem is, how do you convince the rule makers to change the rules? We cant. Voting doesn't work. It's a lie to make us feel like we have some sort control of our Country's destiny. We don't. We are just being kept pacified with the current system. We (Americans) argue against each other for the stupidest shit I believe humanity has ever seen: bonus holes, abortion, pushing a crazy agenda that helps a very small portion of society (trans movement) and etc... All the while, the middle class is disappearing and the dollar is capable of buying less and less. We have a complulsive liar as our Commander and Chief.. How can he pass a security clearance when there is actual evidence of him telling lies? The other option, has banged a porn star while he was still married. What about all of the rich dudes who banged underage girls at Epstein's Island? Brushed under the rug. Our government is corrupt. This country will fail if we stay on the current course.

  15. Why not? They took a washed up FAIP who was his squadron commander's least favorite IP.

  16. It’s absolutely a great deal. I wish more dudes would apply and take advantage of it. Flying in the suit is actually enjoyable once you get used to it, the view up high is incredible, and being able to go f-off in a 38 for a 1.3 every now and again is icing on the cake.

  18. Apparently, the U-2 disinformation campaign at the UPT bases is alive and well. To cut to the chase: - The U-2 Program is hiring. There are no plans to not hire. If anyone tells you otherwise, irrespective of their rank, they are not telling you the truth. - The U-2 Program is accepting FAIP's. We have accepted FAIPS for at least 35 years, and there are no plans to stop hiring FAIPs. If anyone tells you otherwise, irrespective of their rank, they are not telling you the truth. - We now have some wiggle room on minimum hours. So if that is a concern, call us. We might be able to waive some of your hours. I don't know if this bad info emanates from the staff... or from UPT SQ/CC's (like it did a number of years ago)... or from exactly where. If you want the truth about the U-2 assignment, don't speak to your DO, nor your commander. Don't speak to AFPC (until it's time to get released, anyways). Don't speak to your buddy at Base X that "thought about applying, but found out a bunch of bad stuff." So who do you speak to? I'll get you in touch with the Recruiters, so contact me. One recruiter is a Reservist and I don't want to put his personal contact info in this post (he isn't on his govt email that much). Maj Beamer moved and a new active duty recruiter is settling in. Contact me privately for their contact info. As for me, I'm on the Global as Jonathan Huggins. Or you can pm me here. I'm out on leave for a few weeks and won't be checking email until mid July, so ping me here if it is time critical. If you want U-2 facts, go to the source. That source is centered in a room that measures about 40x15 in the zip code of 95903. If the person you're talking to doesn't have a desk within 22 meters of that room, take what they say with a grain of salt.

  19. The French are gonna French. Shit, they’re on their fifth republic among other forms of government in between. Protesting and occasionally guillotining everyone is basically a quaint national pastime if you can A) enjoy the show from the outside and B) ensure you don’t have an infantry square marching toward your capital. When people in the US talk about how bad civil unrest is or gets here, I always encourage them to read even one (1) book.

  20. I know this is a long time later, but this logic led me to believe I have no place in the post-Vietnam US military or any of its defense companies. I do not mind killing evil men. I also do not mind killing young brainwashed men doing the work of evil men, if that means preventing a much worse evil. I DO mind destroying a third-world country in the name of petrodollar or some geopolitical power structure. Currently deciding right now whether or not I should drop out and get my CFI ASAP, or tough it out to please friends and family and wait to get it post-college (I'll be around 26-27 then).

  21. I actually went to boot camp. If I wanted an excuse, I wouldn't have gone through the torture of getting held in Separations. But that doesn't fit into narrow worldview, so you'll just ignore it. That's ok, boomer.

  22. The way you frame it makes everyone in the military seem like either a moron or a monster. If you really believe this, why are you serving?
