Anybody that questions palletized ramp offload vs other options, go compare a Sherpa/Osprey/47 onload and offload of cargo to a C-12 or Dornier. Not pax’s and luggage I mean pallets of commo and tough boxes they need to do a job at a location. A single forklift can do the work in minutes that takes at least an hour because no only do you have people shuffling up a set of stairs with a yeti cooler of crap at a time, they can’t just turn around and back out. Also compare them as jump platforms or airdrop cargo because let’s face it that’s gonna be a big part of your customer option. Unless you can get a pallet sized sliding door on the side we shouldn’t even entertain the idea of a logistics platform that can only be loaded by hand. If it can’t be loaded up with a 10-15K fork loader it’s going to cost time and sortie rate as we unpalletized stuff that was delivered by big ramp aircraft to stick it in this and take it to a location only accessible by seaplane that then has to be unloaded again. If it’s being unloaded in a zodiac, try putting one of those through the door of the previous listed planes. Let alone carry the motor of it without accidentally dropping it down the stairs. And a rear ramp gives you an option to simply low pass and push floating supply pallets to be recovered to the beach by the receiving group. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This. For you younger guys unfortunate enough to have dickless leadership, look up scarf wear in the AFI. I’m not joking. At least 10 years ago on AD when we fought the same shit, there was no specific guidance on HOW you had to wear a scarf (other than a portion tucked into the flightsuit) or what it looked like (color, logos, etc). Walk into finance with it tied up like an ascot with your Friday patch prominently displayed across your throat area, go for it. I’ve never seen so many shoe clerks have aneurisms - and the LPA provided little cards with the AFI quote you could hand to a chief and tell him to read in front of you. All in all, it turned out to be one of the best “fuck you” to the man campaigns I’ve seen play out.

Know your alcohol limit. Know what kind of drunk you are. If it's angry/combative, seek to change. Know/follow the rules, and don't drive. DUIs ruin careers, even airline ones. Lastly, like Conan, know what is best in life. Now go watch some sappy sitcoms/Ted Lasso to learn the rest.

This. Everytime I had an O-6 or above asking why my generation didn't want to stay in longer, I had to explain that I simply didn't have the same memories they had from their CGO years. It takes a lot of emotional attachment to the military to want to deal with the life of an FGO and above, and frankly, we didn't have that, especially in the heavy world. Instead, we had the all-men-are-rapists campaign, the great cleansing of 2012, RIFs from my second year at USAFA until the sudden reversal in 2015, 0-0-1-3 and literal article 15s for shenanigans that were tame compared to the stories the O-6 writing the Art15 would tell in private, blah blah blah. Never mind the two-months-on two-months-off deployments to the Died that guys would do for years because the AF decided that trickfucking the 90 day flying hours restrictions was more important than any sort of balanced family life, or the camaraderie built from deploying as a squadron. Ironically, after I was court martialed (not guilty all charges) it *improved* my Air Force experience. I was immediately relieved of all the non-flying nonsense that they make you do to chase down the next promotion. I would have done anything to get "back on the path," but they were done with me, and boy when you start producing the quality of work that you would expect from someone who has been guaranteed to be passed over, they stop giving you work to do. If the AF wants to improve retention they need to accept that young people who want to kill people for their country have a lot of energy to burn in unsavory ways. Fail to provide that and they will not serve for another 10-20 years off the inertia of great memories and personal connections. Those people will in turn help recruiting.

Some perks, benefits, and conditions may be better, but "kids these days" think it sucks. All of the things you're touting can be gotten outside the military as well. The "Job" is the difference. With this latest whistleblower, I estimate that there have been 69 million allegations and speculations from people "in the know" about the existence of aliens and alien craft. Yet not one single, solitary shred of proof in a time where our highest leadership stores top secret documents in closets, garages, and home offices. That's some amazing infosec.
