I would actually really like to see the system work, the way it would work against you or me if we stored classified docs in our bathrooms and then bragged about it on tape. Or next to an old corvette easily accessible to crackheads. You've built up this vague "system" boogeyman as a sort of foil to trump where any threat to him is just another unjustified attack that he needs to vanquish. Have there been unjustified attacks? Of course. But trump has also dug his own hole in very historic and spectacular fashion.5 points

If the system worked, we’d probably be seeing trump, multiple Bidens and Clintons, Obama, McConnell, Fauci, etc. all swinging lunch trays at each other in a prison chow hall. If voters just admitted to themselves all of these people are crooks, we’d be better off. However, it is also logically undeniable that the current system (which includes MSM) is heavily targeting political opponents. And that’s what pisses people off. If Fauci and Hunter were going through multiple indictments right now, many people would cool their jets on what’s happening to trump, because at least justice was being administered evenly across the spectrum.4 points

Nothing has changed - if you’re leaning on staying in regardlesss, then go for it. If you’re one foot out the door and this is what pulls you back in, you’re an idiot.4 points

3rd party all the way no matter if you're in a swing state or not. It's the only way we escape this broken two-party race to either extreme2 points

All this discussion about voting choices, what are people leaning towards voting in another year? Personally if Trump is the nominee I will be voting third party. I checked the container next to him twice and won’t do it again. And I sure as hell won’t vote for anyone the left is currently offering up. Now I also live in a deep red state that will go for Trump regardless, so that makes my decision a little easier in terms of potential third party ramifications. I weep for those of you in swing states if the choice ends up Trump vs Biden (or other wacko leftist).2 points

Exactly. One wonders the man-hours wasted in the halls of AFPC cooking up this latest crock of shit, that appeals to precisely no-one except those planning to stay in anyway.2 points

Not really, but over anything the left offers, I’d take Trump. I’d love an actual conservative.2 points

It will do nothing to solve the 2 party problem. I get it, you feel better about it, but your feelings don’t move the needle a single bit. I want 2 party to go away also, but I don’t have a good answer for how to do that. I do know me taking a “feel good” trip on the 3rd party road doesn’t do shit to fix it.1 point

Shot in the dark here but I don't think the Russians were 'behind' throughout most of the cold war and now due to them not having the knowledge/schematics of our advanced systems, its because they lacked the manufacturing precision and capes that the western nations had. I don't think anything has changed in that aspect. You can see the deficiencies in manufacturing process throughout all of their advances through the cold war.1 point

Taking the bonus is quite literally the opposite of having options. I wouldn't be complaining if the money was even remotely competitive or if the BOP option didn't read like a predatory scam.1 point

No it’s restating that the level of exploitation far exceeds what most O5/6s who probably don’t operate in an intelligence domain is tracking. And if they’ve been training against a REDFOR model that wasn’t body armor/cyber domain/night vision capable/etc than they’ve been ignoring directives for training that have been in place since ~2016. Talk to the guys in NGIC or MSIC for actual details on that world. Even in the mundane sections of the mundane areas like logistics and sustainment we are getting to see some really good and likewise really bad ways to conduct a ground war. I would equate this to watching the Israelis take some of our top end stuff into fights with the Arabs using the other sides stuff and getting to watch and record results. How much do you think that kind of information paid off later when we had to go fight the same equipment? We’ve got injects in our division warfighter that are being driven off stuff that surprised us over there, so we get to rehearse instead of see it live for the first time. There is as of a day ago what would potentially be a strategic weapons delivery platform in a war against NATO that is a pile of ash, along with several of its friends. If Russia is intent on having this war with Ukraine (because they aren’t doing it for any other reason), even if they were to eventually win it, we would be far better suited to bleed them white than let them roll over the Ukrainians. They (Ukraine) can still very much lose this war. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

Nose gear should have also retracted if the gear handle had been lifted, assuming no other issues. Especially with the center line bag, the nose gear would have been more protected than the MLG and more likely to retract/collapse on landing roll since it moves up and back.1 point

Here's a what-if that I think Trump is too egotistical for...he campaigns deep into the primary. All the dems focus their attacks on Trump. Then at some point he just drops and and endorses someone (probably Vivek given how similar the talking points are).1 point
-
Are what ifs open? What if trump told all of his supporters he’s not going to run, he endorses Desantis or Vivek, and he goes after the corrupt establishment as a “civilian” while Desantis or Vivek goes after it as a politician. The team up for a 2-pronged attack would be awesome…but instead trump is an egotistical asshat who just can’t think beyond himself. He could do a lot of good for this country from outside DC, but he can’t see that.1 point

What mission do you want to do in the AF? Your package looks good "sts" for OTS. That being said, I retired from AD in 2018. I applied to OTS when "W" was in office so things could have changed since then. It's a little harder to get the "mission" you'd like to partake in going the OTS AD UPT route. You will have to compete for slots with your bros (sts, kinda like real life lol) that are made available by the needs of the AF. I flew helos. I wanted helos. I told all the dudes in my UPT class that helos were gay, but I told all my instructors from day one of UPT that my balls were too big for a fixed wing. Lol. In all seriousness, for AD dudes, UPT is like a reality show where you compete against your bros to get whatever the airforce has available for you. ANG and AFRC already know what they will be flying. I imagine that removes a little stress from the competition at UPT. To answer your questions: 1. Your extra curriculum seems applicable for an OTS application. 2. School name probably matters a little. IE. 3.7 from Harvard vs 3.7 from Devry Diesel Driving Academy. 3. Maybe some volunteer work?. Not sure on this one. You just wanna make yourself look motivated and leadership minded. These answers are very basic and apply for OTS. Im not versed in the ANG, AFRC hiring process.1 point

A large part of me wants Trump to win just to beat the damn system. He is an ass. That is for sure. But, he’s been attacked at every turn for years, often with fabricated stories and complete falsehoods. I’d love to see him continue to take on everything that I see that is wrong with our government and media. I despise the elites and their double standards in this country to my core. He’s the only one I see who is fully in the ring with them. I would like to see him win. And I would like to see things change. And then what if he wins? We get an even bigger ass with a bigger, louder chip on his shoulder. We get the other side who will become even more unhinged and desperate to ruin anything and everything he does. Not seeing any of that outweighs my desire to see him win the next election. At this point, I want to see him beat the system in court. Not in politics. I like Ramaswamy. I’ve been listening to a lot of what he has to say. He’s certainly refreshing and isn’t part of the system.1 point

You're not wrong. But remember Russia is likely doing the same as far as FME for our stuff. I would be extremely surprised if Russia doesn't get their hands on a patriot/himars/name your system at some point, and the longer the war drags on the more that likelihood approaches 100%. There are lots of arguments for and against this war and I'm not getting into that but rather just want to point out FME goes both ways. And expecting Russia not to benefit as well when we're flooding Ukraine with western tech, with little to no oversight, would be very naive.1 point

I thought Liquid was the current AF/A3 and future Vice Chief lol…guess I was wrong on that.1 point

All we can hope for is you’re wrong, but I understand completely why you feel that way. It’s frustrating how many GOP voters can’t pull their heads out of trump’s ass to see the bigger picture. Hopefully that demographic sucks at voting in the primaries and the rest of us vote. It fundamentally comes down to, do you want to win, or do you want 4 more years of disaster? If you want to win, Trump’s the worst horse to pick.1 point

The AF needs to stop this "abundance of caution" BS. In this instance, the abundance of caution was the driving force in moving the aircraft from the runway. I'm sure the MX guys were happy that they could sit back and watch caution do the work. Mentioned twice in the same article, just absurd. The second WTF from that article was the photos were from a facebook page. AF needs to find that douche and put him on every night and weekend duty until he learns his lesson. Finally, neither main gear door is open. Not sure how a hard landing would cause not only both MLG to collapse but also the doors to retract. I suppose landing on the center line tank and nose gear could be deemed a "hard landing". Maybe the dude started to go around, pulled up the gear, and then hit (unlikely since the NG seems to be fully down). Otherwise there is more to this story than a bad landing.1 point

Based on USAF's track record of implementing any form of technology advancement in a timely manner, I think we will be fine for another few decades. That being said, if they want to start using AI to replace Finance and MPF...I would be on board.1 point

Living a good life and still trying to make a difference. Over the past year I've had dinner/beers with him in Hawaii, DC and Tampa. Epic mistake when the Air Force let him get away. I hate playing results poker but I wonder how things would be if he and a few others were running things.1 point

Yea I get that you're 100% pro-Ukraine war and every downside is worth it to you. I'd submit the shit we gave Afghans is not as good as what we've given UKR, and the volume of their loss is significant according to Army O6/O7s I speak to. You don't agree and that's fine, but the concern is out there. I realize what we left in AFG.-1 points

Philosophical FME question: who stands to gain more? Us or Russia? Or to put it another way, the more technologically advanced military or the less advanced military? First off, I'm pretty unconcerned with low dollar high volume items like NVGs or body armor. Nights 1-10 aren't going to be decided by those things. I'm concerned about high end strategic weapons we are giving to Ukraine with little or no control over what happens to them. The second a patriot launcher gets abandoned in a field, we have a big f-ing problem. So with that in mind, I'd posit Russia stands to gain more. Because it gives them an opportunity to counter, but most importantly: COPY our best stuff. This is how China leapfrogged Russia in 5th gen fighter development. They just copied the F-22/35 after hacking defense contractors. Finding out that Russia's new stuff is hot garbage gives everyone a nice warm fuzzy, but it doesn't provide nearly the same exploitation opportunity that Russia will get if they capture some tech a generation or two more advanced than their own.-1 points
