Dominated is the right word, but the SEC bias in the polls with no doubt continue despite the obvious evidence of decline. The SEC is 1-4 against the ACC this year even more powerful when you consider the SEC losses are up and comers and so called SEC powerhouse teams. Florida State dismantled LSU, North Carolina rolled past South Carolina on the opening weekend and Texas A&M was clobbered at Miami. Other notable SEC beatdowns outside the ACC include Texas beating then-No. 3 Alabama 34-24 and Florida falling at Utah, 24-11. More signs of SEC mediocrity came last week when Auburn had to rally to beat California 14-10 and Kentucky struggled to beat Eastern Kentucky, 28-17. All of this and of course they put two SEC teams that are 1-1 in the top 25 (one in the top 10), above a bunch of undefeated teams.

Thanks again for the perspective, everyone. I think I'm probably most useful as a flier, and damn right, it's what I joined to do, so there's not much sense in pointless thrash if odds will stay 50/50. Better to be a reliable crewdog than the alternative. I'll check back in with results once all this plays out.

They used to have a B-52D on static display, reserve CLSS squadrons used to do their 2-week summer vacation just to keep it up. Those Squadrons were deactivated, and it corroded to crap and became a hazard, and was scrapped. All the aircraft like E-3's, KC-135's and F-15's that PACAF had possession of had major corrosion issues and stayed PDM longer.

The going to staff sans IP advice you got is probably correct; I’ve sat in on a staff MLR as an observer and it’s tough to land a DP without a strong record since you’ll be competing against the AF top 20-30% types. Based on what you’ve posted, you honestly have a 50/50 shot on making O-5 based on recent historical metrics (IDE in correspondence complete with a P). If making O-5 is you top priority, given your situation as you describe it your best bet is getting a Wing job with visibility to the Bob’s. If making IP and flying is your top priority, stay in Sq and fly your ass off. Nothing wrong with either COA. Best of luck to ya!

In Russia's eyes NATO has been encroaching on them for decades despite promises not to, and they started this war to prevent Ukraine from further aligning with the west and threatening them. Additionally the area they invaded are full of ethnic Russians who claim mistreatment by Ukraine. you asked the question so I'm answering it, not endorsing Russian actions. Although I would add that my non-US friends are quick to point out that a preemptive invasion to deter a threat to their homeland.... is exactly what the US did to Iraq. my opinion: we need to end the war in Ukraine. It would involve Ukraine giving up territory. That sucks. However, that is preferable to me than getting the US involved in war against Russia to settle a regional dispute.
