  1. Meant to circle back to this one, because while the movie put some artistic license and drama to backdrafts, real ones will slam your prison wallet closed at a rapid rate. I remember back when I was FDNYYoungGuy being told by old hats that we'll think, "they're storing dynamite in there," when it happens the first time. They weren't kidding. This is a crazy video of a (rather large) backdraft the brothers in Queens had a few years back. It's amazing people weren't killed in this one; it's certainly larger than most (sts) with a block full of taxpayers on fire. Saving grace was a lot of street for it to expand out to and a lot of folks weren't inside (sts) yet; ones in apartments don't always have that luxury (RIP in peace Jason Gedrick; your sacrifice won't be forgotten...) and can be more lethal. @BFM this, nice pickup! Such a great movie that doesn't get the mileage it should. Some pretty heavy hitters in there for a goofy movie that doesn't get talked about much.

  6. Yeh, ol' Patty has always been a ham hands (and a mean drunk, but I'll stay on subject). Lotta hype on these cliques/sub-cultures, prima donnas abound. 😁

  8. "British Airways pilot Mike Beaton loves to party." - Best first line to an article ever written. Speaking of lines, I can't remember if I snorted a few off the Welsh whore or that Spanish bird, either way, the tits were saggy and sweaty just how I like um. Not enough midgets though. Gives a whole new meaning to "Speedbird" lol. Mike Beaton is old school lol.

  9. On the topic of DPE's, good little side gig if you can get it. Not necessarily and easy world to get into, but as it seems like shifting duties to the DPE will be a norm, it seems like it could be a worthwhile endeavor for the airline guy with lots of free time.

  10. A normal set of orders is usually 36 months, and extending a year can be common. My between-the-lines interpretation is that this rule ensures a pilot doesn’t go career enhancing and decide to never go back to flying, or an aviation related billet, while being able to collect flight pay forever.

  12. I don’t know that specific answer, but I will tell you be prepared for orders to get cut a day or two before leaving for OTS. Be prepared for orders being delayed to the 11th hour your entire career, regardless of gov shutdowns.

  13. I'm amazed that in this day and age, someone would think this is ok to do outside of a Demo Team. I'd be equally surprised if other airshow performers there didn't question it after they saw it. Any word what happened to the pilot?

  14. Okay, yes, this person is clearly not working 911 part time to pay for their mensa membership. But. If you're the pilot that just ejected out of a fighter aircraft and you're sitting in some guy's house calling 911, don't you think you would maybe take a little bit more control over the conversation rather than answer stupid questions that only make the person on the other end more confused? This guy is 47 years old and in the military, so ostensibly has some sort of leadership experience under his belt. If you can't lead one moron into sending an ambulance without a 15 minute discussion about how ejections work, it might not be the 911 operator that's the problem.

  16. Good thing Biden is 8 decades old. God will take him back soon. He's so fucking old. There are videos of him plagiarizing others' speeches. There are videos of him telling 100% lies during speeches. Theses are from the 1980s not from now. He's the zenith of political corruption and he's the leader of the US. Ask your liberal friends if they're better off today than 4 years ago. Shit ask anyone if they're better off now than 20 years ago. If you answer honestly, the answer (for most) will be no. Thats the litmus test. Where did the middle class go? How much is gas? My house should cost 200,000k but I can sell it for 1.2 million. I live in what used to be a working class neighborhood in Cypress CA (North OC), but now only rich people can afford these houses. My used VW surfwagon is worth more today then it was when I bought it 5 years ago. The dollar is getting weaker and weaker, kinda like Hunter Biden after a few days without crack. Groceries cost more, shit even the price of dieing is going up. We need real change in this country. Real change, the hard way.

  17. I did not get my ppl. That'll unfortunately cost me another $6k, which isn't a small chunk of change lol. But I worked really hard in areas I felt I needed to grow and develop in as an officer as a whole. I'm just hoping I was able to capture that in my package [emoji1696] Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
