I know this place is a conservative echo chamber, but rhetorically imputing disloyalty/impurity in a fellow service member's reason for choosing to serve, absent a dismissal or dishonorable discharge, is not good optics. I know it's the internet and all, but we all come from different backgrounds, very different backgrounds in fact. It's one of the things I have most appreciated about my time in the military, vis a vis what I've always considered to be, a banal conglomeration of rather insular and nativist regional cultures of the continental US. The irony of which does not escape me. At the end of the day, we are all guilty of disagreeing with 6-9 things that the State does which we tacitly support and get called baby killers/sympathizers/Empire-facilitators/bystanders for, by virtue of merely putting on the uniform on a voluntary basis. Given that political discourse non-starter, I think we could do without the true scots fallacies coming from our own side of the proverbial trench. Happy anal eclipse, er, annular eclipse! 😄6 points

The situation is so egregious even the liberal media like NBC is attempting to report the truth. 'Top secret' Hamas documents show that terrorists intentionally targeted elementary schools and a youth center2 points

Is suing her in civil court an option? Seems like it should be…and he should take her for all she’s worth. False accusations should come with a minimum 10 yr sentence. They’d stop real quick if a few women went to prison for it.2 points

Correction: just long enough to get tired of the old reservists and generals telling you how awesome the auger inn used to be before 9/11. "I know I'm literally the commander that is now writing my subordinates LORs and article 15s for irresponsible drinking, but when I was a captain at the auger inn we used to all get wildly drunk, grope strippers at the bar, then drive inebriated while security forces covered for us. Side note, why are all you young guys leaving for the airlines?"2 points

I thought of suing my accuser for doing the same shit to me. I was told that the reasonable doubt that acquitted me would also make it almost impossible for her to be found liable for any damages. The only time a favorable outcome would happen is if one was to have "smoking gun" evidence of a text, or recorded conversation, of the girl claiming she made it up.1 point

If you are pro-open borders, what did you take an oath to defend? Genuinely curious.1 point

From what I've seen, like rushing a Guard squadron, you need to start networking and making friends in that world. They have a system that is supposed to stop nepotism, but... Aside from the link above, this is the governing document. An AOPA article that provides a little more insight.1 point

Hahahaha…c’mon Huggy, haven’t you been around long enough to know even fake accusations = guilty? Saw a guy acquitted of false charges and he still lost his jet/career while the female kept her civilian job. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app1 point

It'll happen during a war time situation. Could be similar to the Japanese internment. Who knows? The demographics of Europe, China, Russia, and Japan are devastating. Unless someone comes up with a miracle solution, it's going to lead to strife in about 20 years. If somehow the Muslim populations find a way to integrate, then it won't be an issue. But if anything the situation has gotten worse in the countries with meaningful percentages of high density Muslim neighborhoods. The problem is that we (as a society) are now realizing that immigrant populations of drastically different cultures do not integrate if they reach a critical mass and are able to create homogenous communities within the host nation. And it doesn't matter how much free electricity or water you give them, it doesn't seem to deradicalize the population. Hamas has everything to lose from what they did, and it'll likelihood the organization will be annihilated. They knew that, and they did it anyways. Americans and the rest of the west have this strange obsession with analyzing jihadist commentary as some sort of code, instead of just taking them at their word. Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh: "We love death like our enemies love life! We love Martyrdom, the way in which [Hamas] leaders died." You cannot live in harmony with people who do not value life itself. Eventually you realize, as Israel is now (re)learning, the only thing you can do is give them a death that does not involve your own citizens dying by their hand. Kill them, before they kill themselves slaughtering infidels.1 point

After the Cold War, our defense strategy maintained that the US should be able to fight and win two simultaneous wars in two different theaters of conflict. During Obama, it was changed that we would fight and win one war, and inflict unacceptable losses in another. Then, under Trump, it was fight and win one, and deter aggression in another theater. Our assets are more capable, but there are less of them, and an asset may only be in one place at one time. I estimate half the world's population is rooting for our failure. We're on the brink of an economic "difficulty" to put it mildly. So, we are not equipped to fight and win more than one war and we're dangerously close to financial ruin. We don't have the recruits, and we're sending enormous amounts of weapons, equipment, and ammo to proxy wars to the point we are affecting our own readiness. We have strategic threats in THREE theaters now. The Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the Pacific. What is #1? What is #2? What is #3? If we're feeling top of our game (and we're not), we can choose which one to win, one to fight, and one to disengage. We have multiple Congressional leaders now calling for Tehran to be attacked FFS. I contend that Russia was never a real threat. Why? Because they are small potatoes. China is #1. The world's energy supply (ME) is #2. Kirby is telling you we simply cannot do it all. He's preparing you for the idea difficult choices must be made. The enemy also knows we cannot do it all. Once we're balls deep in Israel, you can bet your ass there will be another fire to be put out. We're being baited into managing all the world's conflicts so that ultimately, we'll be unable to manage any of them.1 point

Borderline going against my ban against commenting on political stuff, but the answer is "The Constitution of the United States of America." It's right there in the text of oath. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Uniformed_Services_Oath_of_Office0 points
