WTF. Some days I think nothing shocks me anymore. Wrong. I got a few minutes. Morning coffee rant incoming: Does anyone really think the environment that allows this to occur is fixable? We are a good nation led by degenerates. I'm not talking about gays. We've put the some of the worst kinds of people in power and let them do whatever they want. Why would Cardin choose this guy as a staffer? What kind of culture in DC would the staffer think this would be a good idea? The entire culture/environment there now exists in an entirely different reality than you and I experience. No real consequences for depravity, instead, tolerance and even excuses for it. Maybe..Maybe.. it's quietly celebrated there. I had a nearly immaculate military career. When I joined ROTC, there was some sort of motto that went "Integrity, Service before Self, and Excellence in All We Do." I took that shit to heart. Perhaps my biggest and most regrettable failure was not securing the Tweet control lock on my mid-phase checkride. 2 downgrade U. After that, I never failed to meet any objective AF standard. Maybe the bar was low, and maybe I could have exceeded the standards even moreso, but it was amazing to watch capable peers self-eliminate over dumb shit while I worked hard and tried to improve everything I touched. And I think I did all right. What for? Sure, I did my part to save the country from goat-fuckers, but I gave the country to... To cut this short, every time I see stories like this lately, I feel regret. Not regret for setting high standards for myself, because it made me a better person, but for being duped into thinking there were people smarter than me setting standards for my service that would result in a better nation. That if I continuously did good things during my career, America would inevitably become an even better place. Instead, I wake up and see some dude getting corn-holed in what should be the most sacred places in the nation, being broadcast to the world. If Lauren Boebert was jerking some dude off in the same room, I'd have also spoken up. But nothing is going to happen. Again, not just this story, it's all of them lately. A seemingly unending clown parade from our nation's leadership. It's an undeniable trend in the wrong direction. Instead of trying to exceed personal and professional standards set for me, I should have been demanding higher standards of my government the whole time. Sort of an inverse take on JFK's famous line. But that ship has sailed. Too late. Just write it off as a bad investment, I guess.6 points

DEI and intersectionality should be returned to hell where they originated. When you seek to divide, itâs usually successful, to your detriment and to your organizations.2 points

Just like someone else had found before me on their model above - I found a set of Atlas Air Decals for my model which sat at my desk expressly for one of our âSupreme Leadersâ at the wing who wasnât happy a bunch of us bailed to Giant well over a decade ago. Granted more than half have moved on, but I enjoyed the frowns back in the day.1 point

He wasn't dumb. He saw what his superiors valued, and he put on the mask. Just another "great dude" as a captain who only ever wanted to be a general, at any cost.1 point

Amen. It's a concerning indictment that our system promotes dudes like this, or at least let him slip *up* through the cracks to such a high-profile position as the vice superintendent of the Air Force Academy. This guy is anything but a role-model. His article shows how thoroughly and wholly his thinking has consumed an explicitly racist ideology. That he is unable to see it would be extremely concerning to me if I was serving under him. His intentional and repeated use of 'white/Black' fell in lock-step with the racial crusaders' recommended use of the English language circa 2020: There's plenty more. It's a good thing this guy is currently side-lined, and I can only hope he never gets to wear a star. Tommy Tuberville, if you're reading this, you go girl. Airmen who served under him deserved better, and future airmen who would still do. Must be a pain for everyone around him that they had to work for someone so dumb.1 point

Of course this has absolutely nothing to do with genetics. It's a simple energy conservation problem from Physics 101. Energy is neither created nor destroyed. Fats who want to convince me they're fat because of genetics are asking me to believe a conspiracy theory.1 point

California and Texas alliance? Thatâs one hell of a fantastical leap! Probably a smart plot device actually to not make it an easy red vs blue thing.1 point

People are dumb. They will probably think this is real. My bet is if there was to be another civil war, the wokeness would be gone pretty fast. Bullets don't care about racism and gay sex education.1 point

Since the TSP revamped the website not too long ago, there is only one way. Any reference to paper forms is old gouge. On the website home page: click "more" on the menu ribbon, then click "withdrawals and rollovers out" then go from there as it's fairly self-explanatory. There is no agent who will do (or can do) anything for you except step you thru the website. Your receiving agent can do nothing. TSP needs you to supply the account number and the address of where to send the check. Example of Fidelity IRA (found on Fidelity website): Fidelity ATTN Direct Rollovers PO BOX 770001 Cincinnati OH 45277-00371 point

I feel your pain man. I also battled for years to get to UPT (to include ETP for age/rank/TAFSC), had periodic struggles while there, but got through Trans, Nav, Form and Mission phase. Then on graduation week, with my parents, retired O-6 uncle and family friends already in town, I hooked the check and the 89, didn't get reinstated and was done. A couple of years later, I still don't truly understand it and I know I never will, so I've found peace through consciously refusing further futile attempts. My advice to you: Whatever your support system is (God, family, friends, girlfriend, etc), lean on it. I got essentially no support from within the USAF, either locally at the UPT base or from my ANG home unit, but my parents and other family members let me know that they loved me regardless, and that helped. I've since transferred to a different unit to do a different job. I may not be "loving life" professionally a la viperdriver's roommate, but I can sleep at night because I know I busted my ass 6 and sometimes 7 days a week for a year and at every juncture I made the best decision I could with the information I had. It seems you have also given it your best shot. I won't BS you: if you're male and caucasian, your time as a student pilot is finished. If not, you may have a shot, but either way it's time to think about, first, how best to navigate the likely upcoming stages of grief, and second, what you'll seek to do for the rest of your career. I commend your willingness to share your difficulties with what can often seem a harsh and not empathetic forum, and I certainly wish you the best moving forward. Last, if it would help you any to have a conversation with someone who has traveled this path, feel free to shoot me a DM.1 point

So first thing Iâll say is great on you for being honest with yourself that alot of your problems seem to stem from poor preparation and/or study habits. More on that later⌠For the near rocks of getting through this ride, it should be the relatively simple pre-solo stuff that requires very little improvisation and athleticism to fly well. Everything you do should be under the âcontrol and performanceâ concept where you set a known pitch and power setting and get a known result. If youâre not getting exactly what youâd expect from that setting, then make small corrections from that instead of just guessing the correction. This definitely applies in the pattern and will help control any wild deviations. Whenever you pull closed, pull the same amount nose up, the same bank angle, the same pull to displace you appropriately every time. When you get to that known spot, you make adjustments based on wind for when/where to perch etc. Also, by doing that very rote maneuvering, it will gain you a few seconds of SA to actually assess and get you caught back up to the airplane. A trick I learned back in the day from the F-15 community was âleft hand, right hand, sight picture, feelâ. It applies to everything and I personally like it because it breaks things down very cleanly and will set you up for success. Try drawing out the pattern or wherever you feel jammed up and apply that mnemonic. Even your GPS thing, look back at that scenario and think what you couldâve done with left hand (power setting), right hand (probably bank back towards the center of the MOA), sight picture (level turn away from a border now eyes go to GPS to push buttons in a sequence), fee (1G unacclerated turn). Once youâre done setting up, whatâs next on your lineup card? Same deal to set up for TP stalls or whatever. Lots of words there but the last thing Iâll tell you is that worrying about all your sacrifice and hard work wonât do shit to help you on this ride. âFighting in the air is not a sport. It is scientific murderâ said Eddie Rickenbacker. The airplane couldnât care less about your personal life. Compartmentalization is massive in this business and learn to leave all that behind you and focus on your left hand, right hand, sight picture, feel. Good luck!1 point
