  2. Saw these while going through UPT recently. They belong to any of you guys? The stickers were on old projectors they were getting rid of.

  3. In 1996, I was co-chair of the annual POW Reunion at the 560th at Randolph. We got all four of the Pardo's Push guys there for the Friday social. We even got an F-4 on the ramp and had them pose by the tail. It was the first time all four had been together at the same time since the actual Push. Bob Houghton was the only guy we originally couldn't find. Keep in mind this is 1996... a lot harder to find people. Bob got word of the event about 36-48 hours prior to the event. IIRC he was doing missionary work in Africa. He jumped through hoops and made it there. These guys got a hero's welcome. I need to see if I can find some photos.

  4. What problem are they trying to fix? We don’t have enough MAJCOMs IMHO, C2 and big ISR should be in its own MAJCOM. Get rid of NAFs and Groups instead.

  5. Touché, Monsieur! On that note, I'll post the patch from my daughter's class at CBM. They had "Blaze Studs" on it originally, but that was rejected by the Vice Commander of Fun for who knows what reason. He's now the CC of Holloman. Sorry, HMN folks

  6. It's tough to look at this bullshit anymore because it's truly either guys forced (conscripts, criminals) to fight in a war that they have no part in creating or stopping. Truly incompetent leadership with no sense of military tactics or strategy, just send some dudes forward to hold some trench with no food, ammo, or support. The comm intercepts are insane. The armor losses are insane.

  7. Sheesh -- I used to look at this discussion to see all the cool footage of Russians getting blasted. Now it's just a whining, political buzz kill. Why don't you tools take the boring crap offline already. Here's a photo of dead Russians to help get this thread back on track.

  13. Lol. Maybe they can mix it up and make non combatants sq/cc s, something like LRS or Finance dudes leading flying squadrons. Lets get 🤪. Old aircraft can still be used effectively. I flew a few Hueys that flew missions in Nam. One still had sheet metal repairs from bullet holes....from Nam. No shit. The Huey flew like a champion! It's the P-51 of helicopters. All hands on. No automation at all. I have landed that thing in some gnarly places.

  14. Disclaimer: I've only flown the C-40, not an airline 737, but I'm now flying the 320. The Guppy's FMS, overall flows, VNAV, climb rate and stopping distance are way better than the bus, IMO. 2 cup holders, hooray! Jump seat is meh...deer stand is torture. The Bus is slightly quieter at cruise but takes for ever to get there. Not monitoring the engine start is neat. The autoflap retract on a heavy climb out is weird since you basically have to overspeed it then trust the automation to prevent an actual overspeed. The lack of an auto let down ability at TOD is annoying. But it's super easy to "fly" and I do enjoy the tray table. Jump seats way better. Overall, I'll fly which ever one results in a better schedule. Oddly, at my domicile the bus is more junior than the guppy on the FO side so that's why I picked it.

  15. Out of that list AFE will have the most regular, guaranteed interaction with pilots. Intel can be good, but depends on where you’re working…you could have extremely little interaction, so that’s a risk (from the perspective of wanting highest pilot-interaction rate).

  20. I feel like the last 11 months went by quick and this last month is dragging on. Good luck!

  21. Wanted to pass a quick update since we’re entering the winter PCS season and there has been a lot of rapid improvements in the economy recently. Right now VA rates have come down fast out of the mid 7s to the low 6s and will be entering the upper 5s. Reach out if: you’re looking to buy and want to take advantage of our industry leading rates/no lender costs you’re under contract to buy at a 6.5% rate or higher you could still swap to use to get the lower rates and we can get the VA appraisal transferred over to avoid cost/closing delays. you already closed with a rate above 6.5% already and have made a few payments to do our no cost refi program where you don’t finance any extra principle into the loan cause we pay for the third party costs. The federal reserve announced yesterday 3 predicted rate cuts in 2024 but market futures expect 4-5. The fed is also estimating 4 in 2025 and 3 more in 2026 so rates will continue to decline and we can refinance you for free every 7 months without adding any cost or you having a refi breakeven point. Everyone will be refinancing so even if now isn’t the time don’t forget to get on my radar. We’ve done this no cost multiple refi strategy for years and it works out great for both you guys and for us. Our baseops clients helped build our business to a national leading lender over the years so I will always make sure you get treated the best. Happy to chat about anything/anytime (mortgages, real estate, airlines, or Cat E PIRR CAP-USAF jobs). Link to my website and also to our no cost refi program below. Merry Christmas! 22. I taught Luke at Rucker when he was a stud. I remember one particular NVG flight with him where it was like CT with your bro. He was a tremendous dude with a phenomenal attitude. He worked hard and was super willing to learn. He finished the program really strong. Luke, we will miss you dude.

  23. Last year's was the 11th for CC notification, the 10th the year prior I believe. So yeah, countdown has begun! Que anxious impatient applicants (self included)! If I was a betting man, I'd say there are more slots this year compared to last with retention bonuses still at an all time high for +10yr pilots. Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk

  24. Apparently you can't see through the rhetoric. Being globally aware and engaging the power we (USA) still have is simply responsible for our own well being, forget the rest of the world. We have options now that we won't have later. You can choose to stick your head in the sand now, but that only leaves tomorrow you two options: A: Try to become globally aware and engaged later with options, power, and leverage you might not have any more. B: Learn Chinese. That's not an opinion. That's fact proven by history time and time again.

  25. Like I said, I’m a fighter pilot. Things I love, I take personal. Even if I don’t have a direct effect on the result. That’s how it is, for better or worse. 13-0 > 12-1 Fighters > Helos
