Ukraine, Gaza, Taiwan, and our own border are all valid and *separate* issues. Our political class continues to display its ineptitude by demanding package deals they know their opponents won't accept. They are not serious about trying to solve problems, but only about maintaining their own power. We need votes about single topics.6 points

I feel this. I almost replied to the contact lens email just to make sure they weren’t waiting on my response even though they said positive responses only. After I get medically cleared they can take as long as they need on everything else. I just want that warm and fuzzy that I don’t have some random eye issue that was missed.3 points

Lol Yeap, like a good aviator. I'd like to make change one to these demands. Chg 1. Add: Demand 11. 11. We bring back a flying sq (or group) of retirees. Something simliar to the how the Flying Tigers were in WWII, except we'd be called the Flying Silverbacks. We fly whatever aircraft whenever we want. Composite wing of dudes who are too old to care about bullshit...50, 60, 70, yo Capts, Majors and Lt Cols getting it done. I want a Huey and a P-38.2 points

You know, That's actually an interesting point. A much more effective and effort-efficient way of prepping would be to make sure you have a bunch of books that describe how to do the things that you only need to do if shit really goes to hell in a handbasket. Like the chemistry of making primers. 99% chance you never read the books, but for a couple hundred bucks you could probably put together a pretty extensive survivalist library. I'm going to have to add that to the project board. 🤣😂1 point

Absolutely! Throw in term limits, age limits, and a transition back to the federalized system we should be, and we’ll be on a relatively smooth path to another few hundred years of being the greatest nation on earth. But no, that won’t happen, because power greed is a real thing.1 point

If we can send CAF dudes to AIS for two weeks of academics on RNP stuff their jets can't even fly, no one should bat an eye over a 3 day course on useful foreflight features. The Air Force as a whole criminally under-utilizes foreflight. Send it.1 point

Crazy part is DoD, before BRS, had and has TSP matching which could compliment the Defined Benefit for Retired Reserve...and they choose not to use it...imagine the immediate retention bump for those members stuck under High 36/Final Pay/CSP-REDUX. That's some extra 'green'. BRS already gets this... Break, break: Demand 11 I like1 point

O Face, By the Battle of the Bulge we had air superiority and the contrail level wasn’t as big a factor. Similarly we didn’t camouflage our aircraft after 44 because we had air superiority. But Masters of the Air occurs around fall of 43 and they did try to ascertain the contrail level to avoid early detection etc.1 point

Pepperidge Farm remembers all the patches and signage that had to get swapped Downrange to go from USCENTAF to USAFCENT so that the naming convention was standardized. Increased war fighting lethality by at least 4%1 point

The border bill is not a “win”. Biden removed numerous executive orders on the border when he took over. It caused an exponential uptick in illegal immigrants. and now three years later he holds the republicans hostage and blames THEM for not fixing the border? Come on bro. Be better.1 point

AF needs a new A1. Yo, try these out. 1. TIS counts. Upon re-retirement, pay is calculated from the last single month. 2. Free Tricare, forever, dental too. At 65, it remains Prime/Select/Std and covers spouse til they pass. Full freedom to select PCM. 3. Tax free bonus, enough to fully fund a 401k (managed by Schwab or similar) to IRS max; 1:1 401k matching. Base pay multiplier. 4. ANG/Rsv that want an active retirement, its automatic upon retirement regardless of years served, but calculated at years served. 5. Reset on Post 9/11 GI Bill. 6. Free SBP and 100% for spouse, not 55%. Gotta take care of the Mrs/Mr/Sugar. 7. Guaranteed cockpits at signing. 8. No PT tests, no OPR (or whatever its called), no PRF (but step promotions allowed), blues not required, no mobility status, no GTC, no ADSC, PCSs negotiated 9. O-6 level BAH (gotta pay for that Captain mortgage). 10. Retirement pay continues and VA pay/offset, if applicable, continue. Besides, it's a different DFAS. If Retired DFAS starts messing around with it, they'll fuck it up. Best to just let it continue as is. OK A1, your turn.1 point

Fine. Fix that bill. Then you can have the Ukraine bill. I think you're trying to lump too many people into one group. At no point have I objected to spending the money on Ukraine, and I do not object to it now. In fact I have disagreed with those who claim we shouldn't be spending money on Ukraine because we have problems at home. We can do both. What we can't do is only support Ukraine, and continue to let our domestic issues languish. Both, or nothing. Politics is about negotiating, an inescapable, if sometimes unpleasant, reality. The Republicans are not crazy about funding Ukraine, and the Democrats are not crazy about fixing the border.1 point

How dare I suggest each country/region focus on their own specific issues/threats before dealing with those across the ocean… I was in favor of invading Iraq in 2003 when I was in my early/mid20s-–I was wrong. And let me know when you want me to put up the debt clock again.1 point

It's a garbage bill. Plain and simple. It does not fix the problems at the border, and exists solely to take away the Republican talking point going into the election. I 100% support torpedoing that bill. I'm completely in favor of supporting Ukraine, but they exist to me as just one issue facing this country, not *the* issue. For better or worse, Ukraine is not an issue that unites the Republican party. However it seems like the issue is of minimal importance to the Democrats as well. There are at least well-reasoned arguments on both sides surrounding the Ukraine debate. There are absolutely no well-reasoned arguments supporting the absolute dumpster fire situation at our Southern border. Democrats would condition aid for Ukraine on perpetuating an overtly anti-American border policy, and as such they can be trusted with *nothing* that isn't codified in legislation. How many times are Republicans going to fall for Democratic border "solutions?" No more. The Democrats dug themselves into this hole, and they can easily dig themselves out by simply fixing the border problem. Instead, for whatever unfathomable reason, they wish to perpetuate the millions of illegal aliens coming to this country, while still hoping to neutralize the issue going into the presidential election. Let's say that they are successful, and as a result are able to retain control of the White House for another 4 years. I believe that would be terrible for the country, and far worse than whatever is going to happen to Ukraine, especially considering that even the positive possible outcomes in the Ukraine conflict are nullified by incompetent American leadership in the following years.1 point

They have been. Despite a lower combined GDP, the Euro NATO countries are actually outspending us when it’s in our best interest not to get stuck solving the third European World War You guys can quit searching for excuses and just come out and say your reason for not supporting action in Ukraine is simply to be contrarian to the current party in charge. First it was “but mah border,” now it’s, “well Europe should pay first….” They already are. Also give a comparison in total dollars of mil equipment donated by us vs Ze Germans. For anybody familiar with how much equipment they have just lying around on hand they are punching well above their weight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Never have left the cockpit of a fighter and promoted on time to O-5…never played the game to do that. Was told multiple times in my career if I didn’t do X “good deal/career enhancer” it would put me behind my peers, blah, blah. Never was true. Always say exactly what YOU want and do what YOU want (in terms of job/assignment prefs, school in corres vs. res, AD vs. ANG, etc.) Never say or do something because some jackass Bob told you that was the answer. Choose a personally desirable path, not one that someone told you to take. You’ll be much happier and fulfilled for it.1 point
