đŻ This is how you know the "elites" don't want the problem fixed. You could shut down illegal immigration in less than a year, to include the self-deportation of millions of illegals, without building anything. No additional agents, no increased court resources, nothing. Just redirect 5% of immigration agents to random workplace inspections across the country. Fine the employer $10,000 per illegal, per day of employment. After your third separate violation to go to jail. And as a bonus, the countries that actually need working age men working towards an improved society get them back. Seriously do we ever expect the countries of Central and South America to advance to stability if we keep poaching their most motivated workers?5 points

Broken record here but until you arrest the employers and prosecute them you would have to 10 x the border security (both north and south) and interior enforcement to move the needle Turn off the electromagnetic pull of illegal employment and benefits then you can address this, itâll never completely go away but it will get to a tolerable level3 points

Gang load the oxygen regulator, youâre suffering hypoxia. The people âtasked with doing somethingâ is the current administration whoâs ignored the law and opened the âdoorâ and told every douchenozzle in the world to âcome on inâ.3 points

Refugees have a responsibility to seek asylum in the first safe country they reach, not the one with the best career opportunities or welfare programs. If we enforced this principle with the remain in Mexico policy we would be able to distinguish the myriad of illegal crossings from legitimate asylum claims. As it stands you just state that you're seeking asylum, you get a court date, and you get released into the country with no risk of deportation when you skip your court appearance. How is this fundamentally different from letting 5000 people in directly? It just takes 1 extra step where you have to say the magic words. Semantics2 points

how's this smart guy.... ZERO illegal immigration. period. no wait in US for your court date. wall. there should be NO compromise on the border. none. it's a fucking border...don't cross it illegally. bring back "remain in mexico" i DGAF how you call it...."encounters"..."illegals"...the number of 5,000 PER FUCKING DAY is unacceptable.2 points

If they are concerned with that then the funding bill theyâve all decided to unilaterally scream about would actually fix those identified issues. Closing down those ports of entry which is what the 5k number they are so hung up on is exactly counter to effecting how we account for and maintain close hold on people coming across the border. Whatever the status of the border makes absolutely no effect to the rat line movement of illegals. Now instead you get to have less agents with less resources being told make do while a bunch of idiots act like the purpose of this law was to just yeet 5k illegals into the general population. Whatâs that old mantra about a good plan executed now vs a perfect plan executed never⌠yeah thatâs our actions on the border. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

False. You are in love with semantical arguments. The no shit text uses the terms âalienâ and âencounter.â It literally says the border is not shut down until the 7 day average of âalien encountersâ surpasses 5k. Alien is everyone - the terrorist, the Chinese spy, the trafficked kid, the drug runner, the AFG refugee, etc. There is no delineation between who that alien is in the text. So I guess if it helps your brain work better - replace âillegalâ with âalienâ in all the quotes your railing against and they are 100% accurate sentiments. Word smithing gymnastics doesnât change the basis of the argument.1 point

Even when I was a Lt Col, I couldn't tell you which A staff really mattered to me, or what they did. I'm sure making lead wings, with A-Staffs made up part time Lt Col's will be great lol. What's even worse, on some bases where they're charging headlong into this lead wing shit, they're pulling AGRs out of the flying squadron to fill these roles. If this was such an important thing for the AF, they'd provide the positions to go along with this new plan. Pulling AGR's from the squadron just hurts the flying mission and is robbing Peter to pay Paul. A buddies squadron is already short because they're on a joint base and have had full timers pulled for BS wing gigs. Now add this in and they make life miserable for the full timers left in the squadron. I wonder why they can't keep full timers lol.1 point

Youâre not wrong, but semantics are still at play. Up to 4999 rolling daily average and CBP keeps the border open. Only at 5000 average do they have the power to shut down the border (which is described as an âemergencyâ action and intended to be temp in nature). Or they could just shut down the border right now and leave it shut until we fix this disaster of epic proportions. Weâre in a massive emergency situation, but the bill doesnât support that fact until the daily average getting through is 5k+. In summary, this billâs supporters are tacitly OK with 4999 daily average.1 point

I wouldnât rule out itâs a subconscious response from your body âfreaking outâ over a new physiological situation it isnât used to. Iâd give it some more time and try to consciously think about relaxing. Itâs a common response for the body to tense up when you feel anxiety, fear, stress, etc. (even if those feelings are subconscious). Donât start to go down the crazy medical rabbit hole yet.1 point

Why do I think this movie is honestly a good deal of the reason itâs so important we talk about this threat⌠âNukes deployed in spaceâŚ.â during some intel briefing on threats which is by no means a new idea and you get immediate reaction because weâve seen that in popular media. Meanwhile start talking about front and back access high power microwave systems that could threaten our constellations and the eyes roll back in the head of your audience. You know, That's actually an interesting point. A much more effective and effort-efficient way of prepping would be to make sure you have a bunch of books that describe how to do the things that you only need to do if shit really goes to hell in a handbasket. Like the chemistry of making primers. 99% chance you never read the books, but for a couple hundred bucks you could probably put together a pretty extensive survivalist library. I'm going to have to add that to the project board. đ¤Łđ1 point

Oh look youâre and âissue guyâ bit a âpolitics guyâ but youâre literally parroting a presidential candidate. Letâs just pull chalks and go home, all we need is some subs and some nukes thatâll be much cheaper. Thatâs not how a global supply chain economy works. I mean just for example there is exactly 1 Nickel mine in the USA, and itâs closing. So what exactly are we doing to get that when stuff starts going sideways in any of the places we deploy to protect our interests? Again, you mentioned earlier âitâs not 1950â yeah boss itâs not 1854 either. That ocean on either side of our country isnât an economic force field. We are dependent on a global supply chain system that will take decades of effort to move back into this hemisphere much less this country. Youâre living in the most prosperous 70 years of human in the country sitting on top of the pile because we chose to not do after WWII what we did after WWI. The Russians and Chinese have no kidding threatened to annex countries by force. The Russians have actually done it. The next country after Ukraine that they have openly said they want has a 5/6 chance of being a NATO country. Weâve been here before, and appeasement/isolationism wasnât the cheaper option. But keep bitching about the debt clock while you ignore all of that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

You're describing my career exactly. Previous 62E. Late-to-rate. F-16s for approaching 18 years now. NBD. I would say don't worry about becoming an asset to your unit. There's good pilots, ok pilots, shitty pilots, great pilots...you get the idea. Don't buy into the AF's idea that you need to go to UPT the day after you commission in order to be somebody, because it's not true now, nor was it ever. The AF's ideal model of career progression is obsolete to those who believe it is; so believe it's obsolete, and it will be. Get 4ucked with that staff-tour talk though...for realz.1 point

The algorithm rewards the lizard brain. You kind find videos from Forbes of âso and so owns ____.â The irony of having Congress hold a public hearing to grandstand blasting the heads of the very media methods they use to spread populist reelection sound bites should not be lost on anybody. Absolutely nothing of impact changed from that meeting and all it did was set up reelection video fodder for a bunch of asshats who arenât doing their real job. Itâs like you slept through 8th grade civics. There are two chambers of government tasked with forming laws to guide the left and right limits of government to include the office of the executive. Those chambers are now not doing anything until Feb 28 about this crises while you of scream about Biden. Guess itâs not really a problem that needs fixing if youâre ok with that. No itâs a flatly transparent lie about what actually happens on the border. The people screaming no to this law and saying â5k a day is unacceptableâ are acting like after itâs passed the border patrol walks up on a group of 500 illegals crossing they check a tracker and go âwell weâre only at 3450⌠Itâs ok folks youâre free to go. Dallas is that way.â Thatâs not what happens, nor is it what would happen under this law. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk-2 points

The border doesnât open/shut to illegals, that action is already done with apprehension-identification-detention-deportation. And the problem being ignored by the people screaming about â5k illegals!â Is that because that process is undermanned and under equipped logistically it has led to âcatch and release.â Thatâs exactly why the Border Patrol Agents union was supporting this bill. Theyâd rather apply pressure to a bleeding wound that stand around waiting for the perfect bill which will never pass in Congress. The 5k triggers a stop in our processing if political refugees even applying for asylum. That doesnât just close the border to illegal crossings, it closes it to people who have legitimate reason for requesting asylum as well. Thatâs not us telling some military aged male Chinese guy to get Fâd itâs telling some family from Myanmar or one of our Afghan translators that smuggled themselves out sorry our services are closed for the moment. Except it doesnât (or rather didnât) allow that at all, as stated by the Border Patrol reps when they issued their support for the bill. But hey thanks for representing the low information parrots to dumb talking points and obstructionism that I was talking about. Itâs good to know youâre useful for something.
