  1. There is no explaining any of it other than PFM. An admin master sergeant just retired from my base after a career of clerk work, where he only deployed once, to a desk at the deid. Dude has 100% disability. Meanwhile, an old fighter pilot who has deployed countless times and can't look behind him without turning his entire body around is sitting at 40%. He who complains/documents the most, seems to end up with a high rating.

  2. I was a punk when they rolled out the coat hanger abortion that was the first release of JMPS. We didn't have any civilian help so it was left to the punks to get it up and running, fix any bugs and make it work. I spent lots of time on the phone with Penguin (can't remember his last name...Roberts maybe) out at Hill, who was a former fighter guy and the guru on JMPS. If I remember correctly, he said JMPS told wasn't certified because the engineers showed that sometimes ut produced an error of 1 knot on the abort speed. This is how dumb they are with this shit. I'd love to put everyone in the sim and force them to make an abort decision with exactly 1 knot difference. Or even better, have everyone try to gonk told manually and have everyone get the correct numbers and an abort speed within a knot lol.

  3. A fond "fuck you" for this post. Now that I know what this gun is, I can't talk myself out of getting one. I'm not planning on the canebrake version, but it's simply irresistable.

  4. The 114th Fighter Squadron is holding a hiring board in June for the F-35 training pipeline. Please submit applications to the MilRecruiter link below. Due to the number of application packages we have received and the high ops tempo that we currently have, we are putting a hold on squadron visits. We will plan on extending invites to visit the squadron after your application has been received and reviewed. If you are invited, you can plan on attending a visit during the May drill from the 3rd-5th of May. We will attempt to get invites out as soon as possible. I realize this is not ideal for planning purposes but due to TDYs and the mission this is where we are at. app.milrecruiter.com/SquadronPage/613a553d60631a2cee9c520a Feel free to ask any additional questions here. Best of luck! Mighty Mighty

  5. Tip I got from my chiropractor (Former SEAL): Document things that happen to you any time the military made you be there, that time you rolled down a hill at unit mandatory fun, that time you tweaked your groin jumping down off an aircraft… just everything that could have contributed to the condition you find yourself in as you are older. In that documentation name possible witnesses, dates and times, and then digitally sign the document. Stow it away in your personal email. If you find yourself in a fight with the VA to review your final total these documents effectively serve as evidence to force them to reevaluate your number, and you can hand them one at a time and force multiple reinvestigations of your condition. This is what he had to do because all of his injuries are heavily redacted from his time as a SEAL, only his career ender made it into the normal medical records. All those times he rolled an ankle in a place he couldn’t go to sick call or “fell” off a roof/truck/etc… that stuff was never covered. He just successfully got his rating up to 100% so no more property tax in the state. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. I lucked out without really knowing it. Over the course of my career I went to the doc many times complaining of macular/skeletal issues but never did anything to really fix it after talking with flight doc. All that documentation really helped versus not having anything on record and trying to claim legitimate issues. You can go to the flight doc and state xyz is hurting but getting MRI/X-rays and what not can be avoided. In my experience.

  7. While that’s good advice (also not a bad idea to always keep your medical situation to yourself others than who need to know/those you can trust)…just because someone “looks fine” doesn’t mean they are, and the records and exams will speak for themselves. But yes, if mean people are wanting to try and screw you, then it’s best to keep the information closer to yourself.

  8. I can't disagree with keeping it to yourself unless specifically discussing it within trusted agents. However, it's not our problem that their assumptions are wrong. It's not about what someone thinks is fair, it's what the law/gov says is fair.

  9. Here’s some good advice, keep your rating to yourself. There some veterans, usually former grunts from the Army and Marines, who assume one has to be a quadriplegic to have a high VA rating. This really goes for 100 P&T.

  10. Could have been him mins Captain. A buddy had to be rerouted out of a leg yesterday because he's a brand new Captain in his plane and the wx was below his mins as a newb on the fleet.

  11. I had a bunch of deferrements. No follow on appts, they just forwarded my records to the proper specialist needed and they gave rating after that review. It was a few months after my initial rating. For flyers its def a catch 22, needs to be documented to show a history of it but if you do, you probably aren't flying anymore depending on the issue.

  12. permanent and total. My understanding is that I have 100% for life and no further evaluations required. It's also a requirement for some benefits in some states for property tax exclusion.

  13. Not really. But one that has existed over and over and over throughout history. We are in the unpleasant phase of the cycle. In another lifetime whatever societies emerge from this conflict will find themselves in another.

  17. Make mail-in voting illegal in all 50 states and require state-issued ID to vote. That should have happened yesterday and would solve the issue helodude is talking about. However, still doesn’t address the IO campaign the DNC and media/tech are leveraging. Admittedly the RNC would do the same thing if they weren’t so inept and fragmented (and actually had media/tech on their side), so this isn’t a partisan statement, it’s just stating the current situation.

  18. Was the 2020 election “stolen?” No, I don’t think so as there is no evidence of large scale, impactful voter fraud. But was it substantially skewed towards one candidate through a concerted effort at the fed and state level in collusion with media companies and big tech, fuck yeah it was. And that to me is just as big of a problem as “direct” voter fraud.

  22. I was a flight surgeon for several ANG fighter squadrons as well as a private pilot. During AF Flight Medicine Basic, I had a centrifuge and altitude chamber training and testing. As the Squadron SME (dedicated doc) I had a requirement for flight hours. I was on flight status as an aircrew member and got flight ppay occasionally if I needed to get flight hours in, I would fly in a D model with an IP and do a BFM sortie. My ex-wife got tired of me leaving that she demanding I retire. I should have gotten a divorce years before that point and stayed on as a flight doc until they made me leave the service due to old age.

  23. The Iranians are actively resupplying them. We simply don’t have the political balls to authorize ROE that would do what you propose. It’s similar to our Vietnam guys watching the USSR send in parts for SA sites, but not allowed to strike until operational. Our idiot generals have learned nothing & continue to fail the nation but see themselves promoted. Enemies are driving the fight, seizing the initiative, executing bold COAs; we just respond. So long as this paradigm continues our technological and tactical superiority will be neutered.
