There should absolutely be a drug test for the debates. I don't believe for a second that he wasn't on something last time. Watch the last debates and then watch him completely whiff at softball tosses the press gave him in the weeks before and after. Two different people. He still wasn't 1970s or 80s Biden at those debates, but he also wasn't senile grandpa in a home like he is most of the time either.2 points

That was painful to watch. Ironic that the video is comparing one mentally impaired president to another. All the shit that Reagan got, yet he was the image of perfect health compared to what Biden has become.2 points

Who cares if he plagarized a speech. He is CLEARLY the senile old man on your block who is starting to get angry at folks for thinking he's senile. It won't be long. There is no way he's president in a year. No way.2 points

There should be a cognitive test to vote, that would make a cognitive test for office irrelevant.1 point

Every time I try to get this word into an OPR some exec takes it out. Maybe future officers will have more success than I.1 point

It’s not that they are too stupid, they assume we are too stupid to know any difference. They only look down on us. It’s the elitist attitude. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app1 point

To be fair, he did say (mumble) “quote”. But he’s no Gipper, that’s for sure.1 point

I was just diagnosed with this as well and the doc said to take "gaviscon advance". It is OTC and available on amazon. I've been taking it for about two weeks and I think it is helping. Almost no instructions on the meds, but he told me one before and after breakfast and another after lunch and dinner. Might be able to control it without any other medical intervention.1 point

Just released name as Capt John Robertson assigned to the 80th OSS. T-6 FAIP. Terrible tragedy.1 point

You get 30 days of leave per year. You can only accumulate 60 days at the end of each fiscal year and it looks bad on the squadron if you get leave taken away for not using it. I'm approaching retirement and I've lost 1/2 day of leave in 20 years. If you are not taking 30 days of vacation a year, then there's a 90% chance its a you problem. Obviously extenuating circumstances exist (deployments, exercises, upgrades, etc) but even bad commanders rarely gives anyone grief for taking leave if it isn't during an exercise or something like that.1 point

Springer Johnson is spot on! If the weather is nice tomorrow, I'll be stopping by the airport on my way from my airline trip, to go bounce around some local grass strips.1 point

All of the things you've mentioned related to preserving medical job opportunities, vacation, etc. make me confident in the following statement: Regarding vacation, I can only speak for what I've seen and heard in the fighter world, but it is quite commom depending on your CC, DO, or WO. You're in an upgrade: don't take leave. You have to projo a TDY: don't take leave. We have an inspection to prep for, there is a base exercise, etc..dont take leave. I know a lot of bros that have lost leave due to these very things (myself included). I also know a few dudes that said, "F that noise my parents have never met their grandchildren so I'm taking leave to go see them." They were taken out of the upgrade, set as the lowest priority, or screwed in their next assignment. All this because they didn't show enough "commitment" based on when they took leave, or that they took it at all during the above events. My point is, this is not how the guard operates. This mindset of screwing over ppl for living their lives because it causes the bobs a minor inconvenience is one of many reasons if I could do it all over again I would never go AD. I'd go straight to the guard. You can still do TFI if you want to dip your toes in to see what active duty life is like.1 point

The flying never got old. It was like sex. The other stuff certainly did. Go for it, you won't regret it.1 point

Everything becomes just a job, not everything is as cool as flying. I spent lots of time not flying in the military and nearly 100% of the time I did not enjoy those duties. However, the flying I got to do was so fun/rewarding that it offset the mundane non-flying tasks for most of my career. Eventually the sting of those non-flying duties, paired with being gone (TDYs/Deployments), ever changing tactics/systems, it no longer offset it for me. This is when I knew it was time to retire. Do I wish I could still go hop in the jet and fly a High Aspect BFM ride, you betcha...do I miss all the other BS, not a chance. I would 100% say go for it, I can't imagine you'd ever regret it.1 point

Flying is the fun part but that’s also a small part of it. For example, if you want to fly fighters, you’ll fly for an hour or two but the brief, debrief, and planning for that is probably 10x that much. Heavy pilots aren’t as intense on that stuff (still do it though) but they have other things to deal with way beyond just blasting off. Same with helos, bombers, you name it. Having said that, it’s way better than having a real job. And if you’re looking at the Guard, why not keep the medical job and be a pilot? Quite literally why the ANG exists is scenarios like that.1 point

Any and all occupations can feel like nothing more than a job after a given amount of time. How you view it is 100% up to you. If you're a pessimist at heart, you'll be pessimistic about it. Likewise if you're an optimist. It's all perspective. Choose yours, every single day, wisely.1 point

I trust the worst gas station sushi more than I do Ben Crump. But that being said, from the looks of the video, that officer was most definitely in the wrong IMO (of course I’ve never been a LEO). And after a fair trial/if the jury agrees, I hope he goes to prison for a very long time. RIP to the fellow airman and condolences to his family. As much as I disdain corrupt and bad law enforcement, I do not envy the job of LEOs. I can’t even imagine the stress they’re under, but this situation most definitely can’t be the way of doing things. Personal liberty and freedom needs to be real and not just a cliche.1 point

I completely understand the distaste for trump, but holy shit, if one votes a second time for this disaster admin, they’re brain dead.1 point

One of my favorite parts of that story was their squadron commander calling an Eagle squadron commander up there who's squadron hadn't gotten any kills yet (through no fault of their own) and offered to come by and give some advice on air to air work.1 point
