  1. Do families of those who were drafted years ago get reparations?

  2. Something something, Kobyashi Maru, something.... Break, break: I knew the Air Force could go full tilt stupid sometimes....but substituting an actual flying airplane for a damn Redbird is about the most AF stupid type of stupid thing I've heard in a VERY long time.

  3. The draft doesn’t mean someone is getting sent to the first wave of D Day no matter what. Depending on where you look, there’s a need for about 10 support personnel for every combat soldier. Why couldn’t women be drafted to fill that in time of need? And I have three daughters. I’m sure I’ll sound like a communist to a lot of the libertarians here but when push comes to no shit shove, people need to fight for their country and not just their own personal stake. The implication there is that the cause is worthy and a true threat to our nation. Why eliminate half of your population from that pool? That’s more of a rhetorical question because I’m not a fan of compulsory service.

  5. If we could stop pissing away money on a draft registration system for a draft that will never be reinstated, that'd be great.

  6. Have you watched the news lately? We’ve already lost sense of ourselves and requiring women to be drafted, just as men, wouldn’t be close to the craziness that’s being passed off as normal in today’s society. Besides, if women can do any job in the military that a man can do, then they should be just as fair game. Full disclosure—I’m 100% against the draft (ie conscription) as it is a form of slavery, so I don’t want to see men or women ever forced into a job against their will. I’ve mentioned this before on here and have had the back and forth, so before someone comments, just read those posts and we can save each other the time as you won’t change your mind and neither will I.

  7. Absolutely not. We’ve completely lost our sense of ourselves if we force women to do our fighting for us.

  9. No Equality aside, women occupy a different place in our society and in this knuckle dragger’s value & beliefs system They may be called on to fight but only if it is to stop the hordes as they are over running the last defenses, anything that is not survival requires this they are exempt from unless they choose to go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. In other news, here is Schumer trying to show you that he’s just an ordinary guy who knows how to grill hamburgers. What’s funny is that I’m sure a few of his top advisors looked at this picture before giving the thumbs up that it was good for social media, which means those same people are just as clueless when it comes to operating a grill. Personally I don’t really care if a politician knows how to do basic grilling or not, I just don’t like them trying to gaslight me that they’re “just like us” when they’re clearly not.

  11. Make no mistake, his handlers with have him on the really good stuff (drugs) for the debate. If I’m Trump, I would let Biden talk as much as possible, but with Trump, that probably won’t happen.

  13. Parents raising children without interference is great, when the parents don't suck. There's really two kinds of conscription: military slavery as practiced by Egypt, Russia, Eritrea, for example, and that practiced by western countries to either round out a professional force or develop a functioning reserve. The former is unjust, the latter is part of your duty to your society. It's also utterly historically justified - we've been conscripting people in the Americas to fight in practically every conflict we've ever fought, from the earliest colonial wars through Vietnam. The last thirty years are an aberration, not the rule.

  14. In case you haven’t heard, KJP said all the videos of Biden blue-screen-of-death-ing are deep fakes and he’s completely fine. It is simply amazing the level of gaslighting the dems push out there on a daily basis. They truly think each and every citizen is a complete fucking retard and they know better than all of us. Every person should be pissed about what this admin blatantly thinks of them. Yet, we still have lots of people completely fine with being told they’re complete dumbass mouth breathers and a dementia-ridden man knows what’s best for them. The latter is what still surprises me the most.

  16. Parents should be in charge of raising children, not the government. But you can be for conscription if you want. Hell, why are we spending so much money on our military when we can just conscript people and pay them half of what we pay them right now?

  17. Sixty years ago yesterday (17 June 1964), the squat, stubby Chance-Vought/LTV XC-142A vertical and short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) aircraft (pictured) had its rollout ceremony at the Ling-Temco-Vought plant in Dallas, Texas. Lauded for its ability to lift off and land like a helicopter before transforming into an airplane that could—as papers at the time described it—“fly at speeds faster than World War II fighters” (maximum speed was 400 mph, and cruising speed was about 235 mph), the experimental aircraft was heavily tested by the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and NASA, but never entered into production. The only surviving XC-142A—a forerunner of the V-22 Osprey—can today be seen at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. (Photo: NMUSAF)

  22. I tried making this same point a few months ago, but Lawman and somebody else told me if we didn’t give all our money to Ukraine, Russia was gonna EMP our asses! I had no clue that the only thing standing between us and certain destruction, was the Ukrainians.

  24. I’m not a historian, but in basic terms (if memory serves), the USSR involvement in Afghanistan initially wasn’t an “invasion” per se, but at least originally an attempt to support the communist government of Afghanistan from failing/losing. Whereas in Ukraine, it was straight up an invasion. Plus technology has changed quite a bit compared to the 1980s, meaning you can do a lot more today with technology vs straight manpower/basic resources, compared to the 80s. So it’s kind of comparing apples to oranges. I have no doubt our massive amount of money is helping the Ukrainians slow down the Russian invasion and is definitely leading to more Russian casualties…my whole argument is that we’re F’ing broke and we have massive problems here (the border, for one), and that’s where I would like to see attention and resources spent before it’s spent on the other side of the globe. And no, we can’t spend massive amounts on both (if either)—our debt is going to make our lives and the lives of our kids more painful than if Russia takes part, half, or all of Ukraine. Side note—took the wife and kid to a pizza/bar place for a late lunch over the weekend. It was a trendier place, but you still had to order at the counter, fill up our own water cups, etc. For two 16” pizzas (we wanted some for leftovers and that was the only size they had since it was after lunch), one salad, a sprite bottle, and a small gelato dessert, it was around $90…I was like “WTF”? Now we do very well, so I just paid it, but the startling factor of how expensive things are is no joke. This is what happens when we have a massive money supply/spending/debt problem.

  29. Update: the A-37 will be flying the Hill AFB Airshow 29-30 June. We are trying to work it so it goes to the static area when it isn't flying. It's a waste to leave it in the non-public Hot Pit. Mark is the other pilot and he does all of the demo flying. I'm hoping to be there to help out and talk to the public. If I'm there, say hi and identify yourself as being from BO.net.

  30. I just watched one of my sons graduate USN bootcamp. He shot expert! He's off to Coronado for SWCC training. The navy did a good job with the graduation. All of the people in attendance were super stoked that their loved ones were now sailors. All walks of life were present. Very cool seeing all different types of Americans being happy together and serving this great nation.
