Services? When I was in the LPA (simpler times, man I miss it) we funded our own burgers and condiments. Good quality meat, even added bacon. We were always ahead of budget so it was an every Friday thing. Screw Services!3 points

No they don't. You are conflating politics with the citizenship. Abortion is another example where "we the people" sit in the sane middle between two insane political positions. Your average Democrat didn't vote for Biden because they believe in giving puberty blockers to children. I await your example of a single society that was formed and survived through the ideals you are currently promoting. I used to think I was a Libertarian until I realized it's the same as a Progressive at the functional level. Ideologies that require a history they abhor to create a safe society that allows them to hold impractical absolutist ideals.3 points

In case you haven’t heard, KJP said all the videos of Biden blue-screen-of-death-ing are deep fakes and he’s completely fine. It is simply amazing the level of gaslighting the dems push out there on a daily basis. They truly think each and every citizen is a complete fucking retard and they know better than all of us. Every person should be pissed about what this admin blatantly thinks of them. Yet, we still have lots of people completely fine with being told they’re complete dumbass mouth breathers and a dementia-ridden man knows what’s best for them. The latter is what still surprises me the most.3 points

Parents raising children without interference is great, when the parents don't suck. There's really two kinds of conscription: military slavery as practiced by Egypt, Russia, Eritrea, for example, and that practiced by western countries to either round out a professional force or develop a functioning reserve. The former is unjust, the latter is part of your duty to your society. It's also utterly historically justified - we've been conscripting people in the Americas to fight in practically every conflict we've ever fought, from the earliest colonial wars through Vietnam. The last thirty years are an aberration, not the rule.2 points

Depending on your legal shop this can be a problem. Lately it’s a lot of “that’s not allowed” with regards to self funding stuff because of the weird power control consent question that comes from a commander saying “we’re having a BBQ” and suddenly all the senior ranks are passing the hat around. The MWR and dining facilities have specific fund allotments and free food options that the unit funds can be used to but their quality is pretty crappy. What sucks is morale should be viewed as an expendable item just like POL or bench stock… Units should have funds to invest in it the way they best see fit whether that’s buying a lot of excess class I or paying the price down for ball tickets same as they have a TDY budget for PME. The merging of phase 3 with IFF is because they twiddled their balls for 30 years on getting a new trainer, refuse to retain experience thus exacerbating the fighter shortage, and then decided to grow their way out of the problem. All without a valid game plan of how to solve the first problem. Combining the two is theoretically supposed to shorten the overall UPT/IFF timeline. Wouldn't really say it's an issue of "wanting" to so something, moreso having no alternative they're willing execute.1 point

Who gets to determine which parents that “suck” vs “don’t suck”? Right now close 40% of the country believe that if you raise your kids to believe that there are only two genders and that your son is not a girl (even if he says he feels like one) that you’re harming your kid. Also, if you teach them that marriage should only be between a man and a woman and that we do not have systemic racism in the USA…then you also suck as a parent. I can go on and on. Whatever sense of normalcy we once had over the last 40-50 years where the vast majority of people agreed on basic principles is now gone. As for it being ok to conscript people in a western county but not elsewhere is nuts. If people don’t want to be forced at gun point to serve in a military, then it doesn’t matter. Slavery was wrong even if the slave was treated/lived better than a poor person the next town over. As for something being justified because it was done in the past, well that’s the worst excuse I’ve ever heard of—if that was case then nothing would change for the better.1 point

The fact they have cheese already makes it better than half the Air Force Burger Burns I've been to. Every single outdoor event has a grill and you'd swear no one in the military heard that you can put stuff on a burger. Cheese, ketchup, mustard... And the shittiest patties you can get from services. Not a tomato or pickle for miles.1 point

Something something, Kobyashi Maru, something.... Break, break: I knew the Air Force could go full tilt stupid sometimes....but substituting an actual flying airplane for a damn Redbird is about the most AF stupid type of stupid thing I've heard in a VERY long time.1 point

The draft doesn’t mean someone is getting sent to the first wave of D Day no matter what. Depending on where you look, there’s a need for about 10 support personnel for every combat soldier. Why couldn’t women be drafted to fill that in time of need? And I have three daughters. I’m sure I’ll sound like a communist to a lot of the libertarians here but when push comes to no shit shove, people need to fight for their country and not just their own personal stake. The implication there is that the cause is worthy and a true threat to our nation. Why eliminate half of your population from that pool? That’s more of a rhetorical question because I’m not a fan of compulsory service.1 point

Schumer has been eviscerated in the press and on social media "He makin an EColi Cheese Burger"...he caved and took the post down. Democrats, always pretending to be something they are not...normal humans.1 point

In other news, here is Schumer trying to show you that he’s just an ordinary guy who knows how to grill hamburgers. What’s funny is that I’m sure a few of his top advisors looked at this picture before giving the thumbs up that it was good for social media, which means those same people are just as clueless when it comes to operating a grill. Personally I don’t really care if a politician knows how to do basic grilling or not, I just don’t like them trying to gaslight me that they’re “just like us” when they’re clearly not.1 point

No retribution at all. My commander was completely on board and supported me the whole time. No one attempted to talk me into staying. Not one person said anything negative. A few people that got picked up for major in my group were mad they didn't do the same, especially when I separated a month or so after they pinned on. My commander also told me that when he was at a meeting with the wing commander before the second board's results came out for those already passed over, a lot of other commanders were saying that their guys were going to off themselves if they didn't make it. My commander said to the group that "his guy" (me) was going to throw a f-ing party. There is no fight with AFPC. It is a federal law. Twice passed over officers must be separated (if they do not elect to continue) within six months of notification of 2nd non-selection. No one in the Air Force has the power to stop that. I highly recommend anyone thinking of getting out gets passed over twice and saves more than a year of their life.1 point

Have a friend who got passed over for Major, separated, joined the Guard, got promoted to Major, flies for an airline. Got married, now has two kids. I say it worked out for him.1 point

Inactive duty points (UTA, TP, etc) don’t count toward AD retirement. They only count towards your reserve retirement check calculations drawn later in life. Only active duty days count toward active duty retirement. (RegAF time+ AGR, MPA, RPA, etc). They also count as one point per calendar day of active duty served toward reserve retirement calculations.1 point
