I doubt it. My prediction is a 3v1 with the commentators throwing jabs at Trump while giving Biden slow softballs down the middle.3 points

Agree with some of what you said (especially about Fauci), but I take great execption to the "shut up and color" for the military part. While you surrender many of your civil rights when you take the oath, becoming a guinea pig is not in the fine print. Under the blanket of military readiness this mandate was employed and the science was not settled (as a lot of voices tried to say but were silenced). When you peel back the facts it was just as flawed as other times when this happened: 1. Secret World War II Chemical Experiments Tested Troops By Race. 2. Veterans Used In Secret Experiments Sue Military For Answers 3. Forcing troops to sit in exposure zones during nuclear testing. 4. Edgewood Arsenal human experiments 5. LSD experiments by the United States Army Through the years under the banner of "military readiness" US troops have been purposely exposed to radiation, chemical weapons, biological weapons and have been given LSD, simply unsat in a free society.3 points

Where's the puking response? It is amazing that so many people are eager to become vegetarians, constantly tell you about it as if that make superior or they project that you care, and then they go to extreme efforts to still eat "meat". If I give up eating vegetables because they're far more likely to give you food poisoning than meat, you won't find me making pretend broccoli out of my deer burger.2 points

According the CNN's previous reporting, that's a "mostly peaceful" demonstration, right?2 points

As someone hired in the last year at a legacy, I sure hope everyone here is correct! At least the theories here are much more articulate and well thought out than the crap you read over on APC. There will always be ups/downs in the industry, but hopefully this wave of retirements/age 67 getting killed will help keep those near the bottom of the seniority list out of trouble for the time being. I too agree that I’d rather see hiring slow/stop temporarily and let the reductions come from the top of the seniority list (they’re the highest paid/work the least) rather than see airlines continue to hire until the day they furlough. The only airline I can recall who (recently) did something to this effect is UPS. Though I’m spring-loaded to be pessimistic as someone near the bottom of my list; I’m hoping the pax guys took note and are trying to follow suit…1 point

True No one is held accountable, there’s no clearing out of bad idea generators just more boondoggles Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

In the case of the guy in question there was due process. He didn’t just lose his guns, he was found in position of them having been legally gated from having them due to his previous actions. It wasn’t just an arrest with charges later, he had a protective restraining order put on him. That requires a greater burden and demonstration of cause before a judge and comes with a maximum time it can be extended to (usually ~2 years). It isn’t an automatic loss end result. The ruling didn’t establish a new precedent, it confirmed an existing coverage of the 30 year old Lautenberg that this guy fell under (which the lower circuit court originally tried to overturn). It also had Barrett pointing out the flaws in the lower courts model in the ruling. There are plenty of good places to invest the political and financial capital pushing back on the legal encroachments of the 2nd amendment, but this is not a good one. If the AF were in the business of buying low-risk, newer, cheaper aircraft it would have bought the T-50 or KC-30 instead of the T-7 and KC-46. Sadly, the only acquisition we know how to do is the over-engineered boondoggle that is supposed to be "digital engineered" in half the time but actually takes twice as long for half the results.1 point

Yeah well I for one am glad to see it slow down. Now, the HR idiots will hopefully be discouraged from hiring bottom-of-the-barrel pilots to "out hire" their competitors.1 point

This is 100% Boeing issues, not the beginning of a industry crash. Not saying that won’t happen in the future (cyclical and all), but this ain’t it.1 point

American stops hiring. United starts again. Nothing to see here. It’s a temporary slump because they were all trying to grow, and Boeing’s inability to meet demand put a minor wrench in the works. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Just saw Kinzinger on Bill Maher's show. He is WELL on his way to becoming a fat ass. Like Peter Griffin fat. Must be on some sort of all bread diet.1 point

While I understand and agree with the ruling, it does open the door to other not as clear encroachments. You are arrested for a crime, will they take your weapons in the name of "safety" even though you have not been convicted. This is indeed a huge ruling that will open new attacks on 2A. I agree they are very pro 2A, I am more concerned about rulings on silencers, braces and NFA.1 point

Not enough Government money to spread through different voting districts though (or into politicians' and weapons makers' pockets). Too cheap and also a good idea. So no.1 point

There shouldn't be a line, none whatsoever, which was the intended purpose of the 2A in the first place. We all should have the opportunity to own whatever we can afford without government restriction. This man is an excellent example of what should be allowed and what I would inspire to be, just without having to jump through the bureaucratic hoops to get it! If you can't see it's a controlling issue by the government, there is no other explanation. Even if all restrictions where lifted, there's no chance civilians would ever be able to own major weaponry that would challenge the Federal government. They just want us to be subjects, something the Founding Fathers were very experience with and wanting to avoid in the future. Unfortunately, we've slipped further down that slope over the years; and given their druthers, the Fed would have similar restrictions to civilian weaponry that exists in the UK where a pointy stick can get you in trouble!1 point

That goes back to Rainman's mantra of never passing up the opportunity to keep your big mouth shut!1 point
