  1. All of the arguments here the past couple of weeks: It’s not that hard. Pick a new candidate and you’d have a chance. The Dems did it and are gonna win because of it. If Rs had gone Nikki Haley before Biden dropped out, this wouldn’t even be close. Trump can only win against a candidate at terrible as Biden.

  2. Why? I'll be blunt, this just feels like you saying something you don't believe to sound moderate. Walz is one of the most progressive governors in the US. The Trump policy position is one of the most moderate in recent Republican history. So exactly which Republican would you support over Harris, and what are the policy differences between that Republican and Walz that would put you in that position? Or do you just know nothing about Walz? That would be pretty standard for an American voter.

  3. He was a better candidate than Hillary, and Hilary was by far a better candidate than Kamala. I suspect all Kamala did was reenergize the (D) turnout, so now we have two high-turnout candidates. If Kamala and Walz are stupid enough to debate, they'll probably lose. If they keep hiding from any scrutiny or positions, they have a chance. But the race is always about swing states, and I can't imagine how two open progressives from two solidly progressive states will change the electoral math. Either way, it's clear the Democratic party is as dead as the Republican party. I'm not sure what emerges from the ashes.

  4. We'll see. Dems are only excited about Harris because she's not Biden. It'll be interesting to see if that lasts or if they'll remember that she was one of the first primary candidates to drop out 4 years ago because she was polling in the low single digits. DEI politics could come back to bite the Dems. Had Biden chosen just about any of the other primary candidates for a VP back then, I'd bet that person would be up 10 points in the polls and would cruise through the election. On the flip side, had the Republicans nominated just about any other candidate, that person would be up 10 points over Harris.

  5. I am shocked and saddened to report our friend and longtime forum member Danger41 passed away yesterday after a freak accident. Many of us knew him in real life and it would be an understatement to say he was an American hero. He was an incredible pilot, officer, mentor, weapons officer and a friend to all. More importantly, he was a dedicated husband and father. I had the honor of mentoring him throughout his career and was with him at Nellis the night he put his patch on...there are not enough words to describe how good of a person he was. This is an absolute gut punch and a reminder that every day is a gift, never miss a chance to tell a friend or family member you care. ***** All - Adding an update along with the link to a GoFundMe for his family. https://gofund.me/1ecfa239 As I mentioned above Matt "Macho" Anderson was a great human being. He attended and played football at South Dakota State before going to OTS and then on to UPT. Matt initially flew F-15Cs before he was TAMI-21'd to the U-28. He absolutely crushed it as a U-28 pilot where he quickly upgraded to instructor, attended WIC and eventually became WIC Cadre at the 14th WPS. He was known as the consummate Weapons Officer - Humble, Credible, Approachable. More than anything he would want to be remembered as a great husband and father. Macho leaves behind four children and an incredible wife. If you are so inclined say a prayer for him and his children who were also injured in the accident. Nickle on the grass my friend. 🥃

  6. Sadly, we all know the answer to this one: The Democratic and Republican Party!.. but better. No, really; they’re totally gonna turn it around this time. It’s time to get serious about ranked choice voting and open primaries.

  7. I finished this interview this morning, it’s almost 6 hrs. The dude appears to have his shit together. Also, really impressive how he lays out his argument and builds his case. Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile app

  8. I know Geary from a few ops down range and some interactions around the staff. I heard the negative stories when he left command and had no idea what really happened, figured he was just a toxic leader, crazy what he had to deal with. COVID Vaccine on day one of BUDS and you wonder why 100 people quit within 72 hours...Fing Crazy.

  9. I know some will find this shocking (Not), but Cat Five ALREADY has an IG complaint at USAFA. As the story has been told to me, just days after taking over he decided to make an impromptu visit to the Field House. The football team had just completed practice when he walked in. He held everyone at attention for 20 minutes while he bloviated and threatened (his standard MO). The team was in standing at attention in various states of dress, with many of the cadets butt ass naked...he held them there at attention likely meat gazing the entire time. Well done USAF...well done, nothing but the best for our future leaders.

  11. Same as always, work hard play hard. You’ll be busy no matter which base you go to. You’ll go to some really cool places and some not so nice places (fun in of itself). 3000’ dirt LZs and unlike the dirty H model (I jest), you’ll land there as a brand new Co. Airdrop is a lot of fun. There is a lot of GK to maintain and mission planning can result in some long days. Leadership are generally good dudes and gals these days, and there is definitely a push to be more survivable in the first island chain so expect to be challenged when you get to the unit and be in the vault studying quite a bit. PM me with more questions.
