Who told you nobody was going to pursue one against you?—the convening authority, ie most likely your wing commander? Because that’s who officially sends you to an FEB. Did you write a response to the LOR? If you want more info on an FEB, you need to read the regs and talk with an ADC. But unless the LOR is completely bogus, then it sounds like you messed up and now the AF is wanting to make the case that you shouldn’t be flying because of your lack of judgement, character, etc. Without knowing the exact details, it’s kind of hard to give you advice from the peanut gallery…and as others have mentioned, it’s smart to just keep your mouth shut and away from social media. My only general advice is (if you haven’t done so already) to seek out a couple close friends/family members who you really trust, can give you honest feedback, and who can keep an eye on you to make sure you don’t allow this take you into dark(er) places. Even if the AF takes your wings away and involuntarily separates you, this doesn’t mean that you can’t live the best life possible from this day forward. But that will take ownership of what you did, and realizing why you did it, etc and how to right the ship in your life. Good luck and please be safe.2 points

Air Force Academy restricted all cadets to base as classes started, leading to meat shortages The fact that this horrible human has not been fired MANY times is the perfect indicator of the toxic cancer that flows through some of our senior leadership.2 points

What were the "administrative actions"? Did you bang an E? If you bang an E they can FEB you.2 points

There sure are a lot of replies to a rumor started by a 2Lt casual student. Of note, the nephew of a guy I know just showed up to his Navy/Marine F-35 RAG... 5.5 years after starting on active duty. We aren't the only ones Accountability: I've always been impressed that the commander and executive director of AFPC weren't both fired by the CSAF for their inability to manage the rated force. For you airline guys, I heard some really crazy shit recently about another merger. I heard it on the crew bus from a flight attendant and...2 points

The LEO forums out there are very disturbing in their take on all this. Basically gun=justified shooting. Several cops/deputies that I know have this paranoid, we are at war attitude. It’s always a really slimy discussion with them as they justify shootings like this one and even the acorn incident. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro2 points

To be fair no military academy, or college for that matter, really ever has a “meat” shortage.1 point

Has it ever not been the FTUs? I feel like we are on a 15 year cycle with this subject. For the youngins here, back in 2009 they reduced T-38 students to two per class…..and they ended up with a massive shortage in the 2007/2008 year groups in CAF. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro1 point

I agree with everything you said…my response was to Raimius who seemed to make the argument that the LEO was intentionally wanting to murder the guy, which I very much disagree unless there is clear evidence to the contrary.1 point

I seriously doubt there was intent but obviously very negligent and a bias to shoot. As discussed above there is an ideological war going on between the police and everyone else, partially fueled by the defund the police movement. Routine traffic stops with CCW holders almost always turn into a de-arming, the officer running your weapon, the officer unloading your weapon and instructions not to touch your weapon until the officer leaves the scene...all in the name of "officer safety." This dude MUST be held accountable but I am surprised he is being held without bond on a Manslaughter charge, there must be more to the story.1 point

Not a rumor, memo from HAF/A3T to the UPT Wg/CCs. Mayorofrollcall (not me) on IG if you want to read it.1 point

We use Fresno and Lemoore for our local diverts and go there often for training sorties. With 9,500 and 8,000 at FAT, and 2 x 13,500 at NLC, most of us would choose NLC if we had a runway length / stopping issue. Nevermind the fact NLC is the Navy: they know cables"; have them on all four runways; and inspect them regularly (not that we can take a cable in the T-38A). I'd like to know what the after action report is on the broken cable at FAT. I've landed a T-38 on the Edwards lake bed once. A decent option this time of year normally. But you don't want to show up there without pre-coordination, only to find out the lake bed is unusable due to rain.1 point

That's 100% right. Many cops believe a mag dump into an innocent person in their home lawfully carrying was justified. It's why I (emotionally) think a murder charge should be pursued although I acknowledge logically it would not likely be successful in court. For clarity: I have no issues with multiple rounds fired. If I've made the decision shoot, then shoot until threat is neutralized. My issue is there was no threat; anyone who has completed basic shoot/no-shoot training would not have shot. However, police departments intentionally teach that shooting if a weapon is "in hand" is appropriate. People who teach that should be in prison, but I'll settle for their students.1 point

IF the guy had been an actual threat, he should fire as many rounds as it takes to end the threat...but looking at the video--there was no threat.1 point

I often marveled at the Air Force's remarkable ability to make incompetent decisions despite the fact that every general I met was, for the most part, a good dude and seemingly competent. Then I saw who amongst my peer group was going to be the next generation of senior leaders. Turns out they were also, for the most part, good dudes. But when it's your peers it's easier to know *what* they were competent at, and it started to make sense. It's not the skill set you'd pick to lead a war fighting machine.1 point

That’s what NGAD started as (open architecture, rapid adaptability, etc.) and then the mil industrial complex kicked it into 6th gear and fucked it all up. I don’t blame the AF for taking a pause after seeing some of the more recent costs and demands from industry. Acquisitions and industry - For the love of God, just fucking produce something that is relevant, adaptable, at least realistically affordable (even if still a rip off), and doesn’t take 20 years. Why is this so hard?1 point

Must be the hazardous duty pay they provide. All of those near CFITs, control tower strikes, plus departures from NOTAM’d runways and all…1 point

I would not enlist with hopes to get a slot. Just go straight for the pilot slot and rush as much as possible. Especially because right now the fighter pipeline has been significantly slowed down for a lot of guard units so don’t waste time enlisting if you want to still be a pilot. Some fighter guard units are saying it could be a 3yr wait now after getting hired before going to UPT, so you can’t waste time.1 point
