Israel just blasted the Houthis this morning; they are not fucking around.

You can’t even see the ball for the first half of that video. All that video proves is what literally every other person, other than ACC higher ups and Miami fans, have said over and over…that there was zero indisputable video evidence to overturn that call since it was called a TD on the field. You even said that yourself! The fact that we are still discussing this, and that it took over 6 minutes for them to decide proves that it was not indisputable.

The overturn against VT and the “offsides” against Minnesota on their onside kick today sure makes you wonder what kind of money and pressure gets applied behind the scenes. It’s no secret there would be a huge incentive to keep Miami undefeated and keep Michigan ranked. For the VT play specifically, there was simply no evidence to overturn the call on the field. Had it been called incomplete on the field there also likely wouldn’t have been enough evidence to make it a catch. But the call on the field was a TD, and there was not a single shot clearly and irrefutably showing it wasn’t a catch. It doesn’t take 10 minutes to find clear and obvious proof it wasn’t a catch. The only people who think that was the right call are Miami and UVA fans.

I remember clearly the sortie I was on in Early 2006, my second deployment, thinking “WTF are we doing here?” when chiefs were on a reflective belt kick and the ROE was rediculous. I like to think maybe I helped someone make it home but in big picture look back, what a waste of time and resources. Haha. You guys lost that game to VT. You and everyone who saw that last play know it. Longest official review I’ve ever seen, unbelievable they overturned it. Congrats on being “5-0.” Bet the mood down south has soured a bit after this recent performance knowing how they perform against any team with even a bit of talent.

Long forgotten as my goal was to retire early anyway. Stayed single in a target rich environment, no kids, lived well BYM, and retired at 59. Enjoyed the job but have never missed it. Multi millionaire DAL brother in-law recently found out he has cancer two years passed age 65 retirement. Changes everything.

Reverend! I can't say it felt like #winning as we watched a bunch of ANA/ANP getting overrun by the Taliban because of ROE and chicken shit civilian and military leaders. Felt like a metaphor for our time in Afghanistan. The few employments we had were probably just killing the kids of the guys we killed when I was there a decade earlier. We didn't have any semblance of a gameplan or objective when I was there in 2011...2021 was way worse. If we had taken out OBL at Tora Bora and subsequently pulled out (or left when we finally got him), I might have considered Afghanistan a win. Did we stop a possible terrorist attack on US soil during that time...maybe. Did we create more people who want to repeat 9/11 down the road...absolutely. We did find ourselves with aged jets, a few trillion in debt and more dead/broken soldiers, so we got that going for us...
