  1. I went to a very liberal college and I’m usually not that petty with some old friends over how these things go, but the condescending attitudes they’ve had on why it happened…. So I sat down and fired this off into the room like a flash bang. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  2. Automated boom refueling has already happened: And the Navy's Boeing MQ-25 is LO and obviously a drone. I'm sure it does a lot more than just buddy tank too. Hell, the even Navy did automated receiver AR in 2015 with their X-47 off an Omega KC-707. So, LO tankers aren't "that" hard. But scaling from fighter size vs transport size is definitely a challenge. It'll have to be a custom build like the B-21. Why not just build bigger fighters, I dunno...let's call them interceptors...and stuff them with enough gas to make it the fight and back (ie: MIG-25/31, F-14, J-20, etc). A lot easier than building LO tankers, IMO.

  3. MODS: I apologize if I missed it, but can we get this (or any other thread that's already got a good list) stickied to the top? Given that the read file hasn't had a post in years, I assume this place gets more visibility. I'm a firm believer that readers are leaders and I'd love to see what you're all reading. I'm rifling through books on audiobook at a rate of about 1 per week right, so I'm always looking for my next book. There area bunch of smart mofo's on this forum and I'm certain you all read some great stuff that may not be in my normal list of subjects. Not looking for this to be just a military book thread, but rather a collection of books that you enjoyed and you feel are a great add to anyone's reading list. Of course I'll start with a military book. Just finished 53 days on Starvation Island and found it to be a great read. It follows a few survivors of the Battle of Midway through their combat experience on Guadalcanal. I can't even begin to imagine the shit these guys faced. Outstanding book...Hero's, all of them!

  5. Yes. If a Viper can have one a tanker could probably have at least 2 Link together and bring back combat box formations to jam and laze together for threats that get thru the HVAA drone defenders New interceptors with adaptive cycle engines would do nicely, IMHO this new hypothetical interceptor would not need to get to Mach 3.69 but would be built to supercruise better than anything else and dash as required (accelerate and hold Mach 2.0 for 5 minutes say to cover 100 NM, shoot or evade) Still, a new type is likely financially prohibitive right now with the programs already in motion but if you could get partners and share equally the design and manufacturing with the other likely interested nations (Japan, Aussies, maybe Canada and other Arctic allies for anticipated problems with Russia/China there) for a very long range fighter interceptor you might get a program that could be shoehorned in

  9. Since there will probably be lots of military and leadership books galore, here is one that is a little different. it’s basically a collection of cases that he has worked over the years. Got lucky to read it for 1 credit back in the college days. Should be required reading for anyone that manages people or processes.

  10. What the left doesn’t seem to understand, is that Trump won on the majority of the issues, Kamala was a bad candidate, and also that Trump came across as more likely to be the one who could act on those issues. But yet the left is doubling down on more illegal immigration, men playing on girls sports teams, mutilating young children, higher taxes/more government spending in the name of fighting climate change, etc. If you’re going to go against the majority of Americans when it comes to issues that matter most, then you better have a super smooth candidate and/or be up against a candidate that even the opposing party dislikes.

  14. I want to echo Negatory here and say "Harris is not my favorite" But with that being said, I'd also like to say Orange Man is a fascist Hitler. Have you seen the GOP lately? They want closed borders, they object to us paying education, housing and well EVERYTHING for illegals. They think biological men shouldn't play women's sports, they object to lawfare waged against political opponents, they are against removing the genitals of minors without telling parents, they are against forced gun buy backs, they are against taxpayers paying for sex change operations for prison inmates, they hate inflation, and incredulously, they want to keep the 1st amendment in place. Fuck Republicans. That's what you want to forum to be....buddy.

  15. After today’s games it’s perfectly obvious…We have absolutely no clue who is going to be this year’s Nat Champs. Hell, at this rate it might be Army (joking). This has been a fun season to watch.

  16. People don't have to like Trump to have picked him over Harris. I don't like him at all and think he's generally a bad person. But I prefer his views on government over those of Harris (who is also a bad person in my opinion). I know there are some die hard supporters that ignore/justify everything bad he has done (and he's done plenty of bad things), but I would bet the majority of people that voted for him are not in that category. He's personally done plenty of bad things and I disagree with many of his policies, but as often happens in these arguments, people can point out just as many bad things the other side does. So, it all comes down to which policies do you support, and which bad things they do are reasonable to overlook. He's a narcissist and I think the majority of what he does/says is to seek approval rather than following his beliefs. But, the left has engaged in absurd levels of law-fare, demonized half the country, overtly supported castrating kids and taking those kids away from parents that don't support the government castrating their kids. I'll take the narcissist over someone that wants to give my kids castration drugs without my approval.

  17. I want to echo ClearedHot here and say “Orange Man not my favorite.” But with that being said, I’d also like to say that his TS/SCI/SAP documents he stored at his house and lied about are NOTHING COMPARED TO HILLARY OR BIDEN. Have you seen the DNC lately? They recently tried to make me have gay sex with a transvestite immigrant. Fuck democrats. Thats the forum, buddy.

  18. my party? I'm as much a democrat as trump is a republican (hint: I'm not). you can say "trump sucks" as many times as you want, but when you support him at every turn it falls on deaf ears. there was a whole OIG report about it, but ok. speaking of critical thinking: what's your opinion of why he stole a bunch of TS documents (without whataboutism of sleepy joe having a box in his garage)? all of a sudden he's a student of national defense? the ability of some of you guys to completely overlook this natsec issue will forever boggle my mind. insert something about "mean tweets" to justify...🙄

  19. An update shows the FEMA employee has been fired. "Trump supporters are evil so therefore I'm doing this for the team" is the same mindset as the IRS employee and the other 3 letter organizations. That mindset is a direct result of the higher ups in the organization. This person would not have done this if she didn't think she would not suffer repercussions. I'm not sure how deep Trump can fire people to restore fair and objective thinking but he needs to use the biggest cutting implement he can get his orange hands on.

  20. I literally said people are in hysterics online.. it would be ridiculous to expect there not to be. But I couldn’t give two shits what some blue haired gender studies major posts on IG about the election being their own personal 9-11, because there will always be people like that on all sides, and ultimately they have no power in the national conversation. The people who actually do have the power on the left sent an important message: accept the results, and we aren’t going to tear the country apart over an outcome we don’t like. Did they only concede because the results were so definitive? Maybe. Did they only concede because they’re starting to realize they burned all their credibility? Also maybe. But I don’t think we would’ve gotten the same reaction from Trump/Vance had they lost, and I think they primed their die hard supporters to dismiss any election result other than a win as fraudulent. Understandable as that sentiment may be, after decades of democrat fuckery, that attitude is a truly dangerous one for the long term viability of the country.

  21. Maturity? They spent the last several months to years saying Trump is literally Hitler…that doesn’t sound very mature to me. You even mention how you think the left might/probably will call the right “Nazis”…but where have you been? They’ve already been doing it.

  23. manning climate, and openings by proxy, is very unit location dependent. Doesn't take a genius to figure out which are which. As to competitiveness in the aggregate? Honestly it tracks pretty inversely proportial with airline hiring at the time.
