F'n Hooah! That video is so squared away and high speed. I think I just found my weekly safety video. Where was Kevin?

I think they TOTALLY get it (Suicides)

Had the Group Psychiatrist give us a briefing on resiliency training. Same BS as everybody else has gotten. He went on to explain that complaining about our situation (RPA's @ Glorious AFSOC West Coast base and going on 3 1/2 yrs) does not help the situation. I explained to him that it helps to sometimes have B!@#$ sessions, we can typically get some good laughs out of it. He then went on to explain that it statistically does not help individuals. He even went on further to explain a comparison of a WWII US POW in a GE prison camp preparing his mind for the ordeal and going on each day with a positive attitude. I'm not really sure if everybody else caught it, but I sat back in amazement that this guy just compared our situation to a WWII POW situation. I literally just started laughing. The second thing I took out of it is that he is saying I have to brainwash myself that everything is all good here in Blovistan sitting in a box. -
OK drama queen. Holy crap most of you betas were jumping at the chance to be part of the "tip of the spear" (I use that term loosely) and wear a bag. I consider the 3yr contracts continued incompetence from shoe clerks who issued the contract. Had a 18x show up this yr w/ a 3 yr contract as well, so I don't think it is being reserved for just the test group betas. Bottom line is that this foul up with the contracts is going to screw up manning projections, based on the assumption all 18x'ers received 6yr contracts, when those w/ 3yr contracts start getting out for whatever the reason may be. Which will continue to strain an already stressed out manning level. Quick Update: The 18x in question is already on the Losses on the Alpha Roster. So it still doesn't seem to be getting much kickback. And personally, I am happy for any individual that can escape. Yeah, again that is another huge fail by the officers that ran that initial beta program. If they had made adjustments instead of scrapping the program we wouldn't be having this conversation because I would be sitting fat dumb and happy in a real cockpit and no particular reason for visiting the Military Careers portion of the BO forum.

TH, did you sign any agreement at all? The problem here is that he did sign a specific contract that states 3 yrs. Time will tell what will actually happen, but he has started the official separation process already. I'm definitely not defending this, I'm sure Big Blue will come in at some point and tell him the contract he has in hand is void. I also don't like the mistake because it will bring down morale, what's left of it, of the other pilots and betas that are still in it. And the biggest problem it will cause is on manning which most of us know is always hurting. Sarcasm ON: Hey but at least Gen Schwartz' promise is sort of being enacted by getting UPT'ers to new assignments, manning be damned.

Yeah it is funny how some lucked out with 3 yrs while others have 6 yrs. Two guys from my flight got here around the same time, one has 6 yrs while the other is expecting to be on terminal leave next Oct. Sq Leadership is currently trying to work the fix. But the specific Beta has his ADSC paperwork in hand stating 3 yrs. I know we will have a even-more disgruntled guy on the line if they find a way to backtrack and give him the full 6yrs.
-
So AFPC screwed up, no surprise, and gave quite a few of the 18x's only a 3 yr ADSC. We already have one Beta dude that has put in his separation paperwork, he'll be on terminal leave by next Oct. That's going to work out great for the numbers and morale when others start dropping paperwork or start demanding bonuses at a 3 yr point.

The bit about the reflective belt is classic.

WTF is up with AF leadership. My blood is boiling from the AIB results. Again, trying to use the pilot as the scapegoat for equipment failure of the AF's prized possession. Words just cannot describe how pissed off and disappointed I am with this AIB.

Predator Follow-on

They are called Beta's or 18X'ers. They are referred to as pilots in the RPA realm (Some of us will never call them that and refer to them as operators). Just one more reason to really be disgusted with it, yet at the same time I want the non-pilots to succeed so that those of us real pilots can go back and big blue no longer throws real pilots into it. -

What about those guys that were ranked in 3rd in the class but for equity reasons were given preds? I think that is a pretty ignorant explanation. -

The drop at Cannon resulted in: CV-22 C-130 B-52 KC-10 PC-12 2 x U-28 all were first choice assignments with the exception of the buff. We only had 7 eligible for this window so everybody was stoked to be at 100% plane assignments. -
WOMAN STORES UP SEMEN FROM USED CONDOMS TO GET PREGNANT W/O MAN'S KNOWLEDGE Careful gentlemen! It's a crazy world out there. And then I found another article that is even crazier. https://www.topix.com...76UD289PGQSGSCN May have to rewrite some TTP's for egress.

You have to admit that though, they were able to explain it in less than 2 minutes while it would take at least an hour in any AF PME program.
-
Great episode. This video goes to show you that anybody can operate the UAV's. At least they were accurate in how much actual piloting a UAV "pilot" does in the span of a shift.
-
I agree with everything you have said. But one thing that people are not taking into consideration is that people with larger waists tend to have poorer health than those with thinner waists. By trying to enforce thinner waists the AF is trying to reduce current and future medical costs by "motivating" individuals to attempt a thinner waist or remove them from service w/o having to provide them with anymore medical benefits.

At least we can all laugh at the pred pilots getting the fat chicks or paying for girls at many of the upstanding establishments located in nevada.

That is a lot of aircrew available to come over to uav's to include the navs. Just saying...

How is identifying a major flaw in the TSP 401k plan off-topic from this discussion. This is a serious aspect to consider with this proposal for a retirement plan fix. And it seems you really do have too much faith in this government that they will replace the money that they took out of the Federal Workers 401k. Kind of like they are going to pay back the money they borrowed from the Social Security pot of money.
-
The gov't has been raiding the federal employee 401k plans for funds. I seriously doubt this pot of money would be untouchable as well. Just another disguise for the gov't to create a pot to raid from.

I completely agree with you. The only argument I have is that I believe that I vehemently detest drones more than you. I fantasize about shooting one everyday with my rifle (during its LR ops).
