  6. That audio is chilling. If I hadn’t known the story and just heard the audio I would think this was some gag recording by bored pilots or controllers.
  7. Last out of MAF FB Page was they heard word from the SECAF to have your CC request a waiver from the OPR. Apparently when you request an AFI waiver the OPR has 30 days to respond otherwise your request is auto approved. While the MAF folks say they are still seeking a better resolution, this is apparently the way forward for now.
  8. You are referring to a note in the ADSC reg which was discretely removed and published with zero heads up to Sq/CCs and crewdogs, that’s why this all started.

  10. That’s an easy one, all those deployments will be filled by the guys that fell for the ATT and now have an 8 year commitment. Plenty of ADSC remaining.
  11. Yeah, the original proposed “limited” 180s and no 365 for anyone in the fly only track. Kinda silly for a tanker guy that deploys two months at a time anyways (hello loophole) but still a lot better. I suggested a 4 year PCS ADSC that way you could at least decide after you bargain your assignment but that was on said MAF page so big surprise it didn’t make it anywhere.
  12. The amount of people praising this thing on there is incredible when all I see is (in all reality) trading in another 8 years of your life for an extra year on station each assignment. All the other “positives” are patronizing as they clearly think by titling something “flying” (aka staff and 365s) we’ll be happy to take it! I can’t believe they won’t at least take 365s off the table to give a little extra carrot. This is even worse than the terrible original idea Everheart proposed a few months ago.
  13. Or non tanker dudes in charge or tanker guys, or non 17 dudes in charge of 17 guys. There’s a debate on the MAF Assignments and Vectoring FB Page right now over this. Personally I think getting to switch airframes is cool and all but should not be a delineator for command. Why does someone need experience on “the other side” to make them a better CC?
  14. I’m 2.5 years out from my commitment ending and I’m really interested in one of these jobs. How much of a lead turn can I really take to make the changeover easier?
  15. Guess I’m a glutton for punishment. Really more out of curiosity than anything.
  16. Look into points only jobs. Sure you don’t accrue as many points in a given year but they seem to be more flexible. I’m still naive on them but they are one of my leading post-AD mil options. The two I know of are Academy Liaison Officer (ALO) and CAP Liaison. For anyone that is smart on this, can you do multiple points only gigs or is there something restricting you to one?

  19. The whole single guys doing more work and deserve more pay is a non starter for me. I’ve paid my price as a married guy (missed one kids birth, missed holidays/birthdays, etc) and done just as many if not more deployments/alert tours/TDYs as anyone else in my MWS and year group. If the married guy in your squadron isn’t sharing the load then that’s your leaderships fault. Saying BAH needs to be changed because your ADOs/DO/CC aren’t managing people well is a pretty big stretch. Notice your base pay is the same, that’s because your doing the same job. BAH has nothing to do how much work your doing, it is merely the fact that your married, so you probably need a bigger house. Sorry for the further thread derail, just had to say my peace.

  23. We had the same issue, order over six months ago and have had a litany of excuses since. I was able to get a hold of him on his cell a few weeks ago and he told everyone everything was frozen by the IRS. The latest story is he will refund everyone when the accounts are back. We are filing a dispute with USBank, I’d suggest your cardholder do the same. PM me if you have more questions.
  24. I’ll second that, I liked Rogue One more than Force Awakens but this one will probably be my favorite of the new movies now. This one actually had me guessing what was going to happen next which seems like a rarity these days with movies. Edit: forgot to finish my sentence
  25. Can confirm Mardon has issues with IRS, my RA talked to the dude recently. Also he has terrible customer service. We are using USCompany for name patches and will be switching to them for everything else now. Edit: Drinking so my grammar bad
