  1. Congress heard it may make someone in their district lose a job though, so they passed a bill requiring it to stay around till the year 2184
  2. You have to be shitting me. I think that is one of the most rediculous things I've ever heard. Instead of practicing like we fight, lets just sing a song and dance, thats basically the same as deploying to a foward location.
  3. Its just the nature of the beast. When teams/conferences have a down year, they are hard to find on TV when not in their area. People are fickle and want to watch the winning teams. *which makes sense. Who do you care about outside of your own team that you root for? Probably the teams ahead of them to see how they are doing* The only team that defies all logic and would still get all of their games broadcast even if they went 0-11 is Notre Dame.
  4. Going on recent history, maybe when the big ten doesnt choke in the big games they will get more attention. They went 1-6 in bowl games this year, their one win coming against S. Carolina, a decent program, but far from a dominant anything. They lost to the Pac-10, SEC, Big-12, and ACC, with the one win being against a lower tier SEC team. The past is the past. Show me some results.
  5. My grandpa gave me his party suit from Vietnam. And he was an EC-121 pilot after being a C-47/C-54 pilot. I'm not sure what happened to them
  6. All of your posts up to this point have been dissapointing.
  7. Depends a lot on who the commander is. When I was at Columbus, we had quite a few dudes get reinstated, but when talking to my friends that went to laughlin, they had basically 0. I'm sure this changes with commander, along with the best way to handle the process.
  8. you lash out at the ROTC stories calling them gay, and then contribute after obviously reading through them all. Does that make you gay?
  9. Right, thats because they shut the pipeline down. He is asking what the drops were like before they shut the pipeline down. I don't know the numbers, but I know there were *relatively* a lot. It was the norm to see multiple F-16's every drop.
  10. I don't think its a stretch to say the majority of service members are republican or at least conservative, and vote that way most of the time. For examples, looks at any political post you have posted in. How many supported you, and how many called you an idiot? Obviously its not 100% across the board.
  11. Funny, I actually got yelled at for this by an inspecter during an ORI at Columbus.
  12. They can't disagree or they are out. Plus the CSAF was brought in specifically because SECDEF wants more spec ops focus and less fighter focus. As long as that is policy, going against it at that level just means early retirement.
  13. Every time I see a T-34 taxi past at Corpus, I'm always waiting for them to just fall apart in front of me Blues Brothers style. They look beat to hell. i'm not sure how guys could argue to keep them, unless they want an updated T-34.
  14. Corpus 09-03 C-130J- ramstein- 1 NSA- 2 U-28-1 C-130- Yokota- 1 C-130H3- Peterson- 2 C-130- Dyess- 2 C-130- Little Rock- 2 C-130 Pope- 1 UAS- 1 Top 5 dudes all got their first choice, and those are the first 5 on the list.
  15. If you wouldn't call it glass what would you call it?
  16. corpus 09-01 C-130J- Ramstein (Me!) C-130-Little Rock C-130- Yokota NO UAV'S!!!! amazing drop, all three of us are really happy with this drop.
  17. That was pretty cool.
  18. AD CBM 2X 135 KC-10 3X T-6 FAIP 3XC-17 MC-12 F-15C B-1 3X UAV guard: 2 135's, 2 EC-130's Think I'm missing 1 somewhere also 3 eurofighters to saudi's, 1 PC-7 to an ALPster, afla jet and helo to portoguese *sorry for spelling... might have had a few to drink in honor of my class......*
  19. There is the passenger version of the BE200, which is rated for 12,500 pounds, which is what most civilians have. The cargo version can have up to 13,500 pounds, but is restricted past 12,500 pounds. The TC-12 is the cargo version.
  20. All the RIPs say VT-31. When you get here some dude will ask you what squadron you want. A lot of times you don't really have a choice as there are only spots left in one squadron, usually 31. As far as less IP's, in 35 I've only flown with an IP twice 3 times total the entire time I've been here and I'm getting close to being done. I kinda prefer the smaller squadron atmosphere as well, but some guys like the big squadron. 31 tends to schedule guys for whatever they are opted, wheras 35 tends to finish a block before scheduling for new events. Both have their pluses, but I definitely prefer the 35 scheduling. You also get to leave the local area for contact rides in 35 because we have a lot more fuel in the TC-12, and can go a bit faster. In 31 you fly pretty much the same profile every ride through contact. In instruments though, you all go to the same places. plus everything that was said above. Not many differences between the squadrons but there are a few.
  21. I dont think they are supposed to tell you but it happens. I had IP's tell me my rank after track select.
  22. Back in T-6's when we were in the first block a guy was trying to figure out his rudder trim and the radio's, which are both on the PCL All of a sudden we here over area moniter "ummm sir somethings wrong with the airplane. My rudder isn't trimming!!!" then in TC-12's we were going into an uncontrolled airport, making our call that we were on a modified base. As we are short final. "hey bob are you gunna want it on the next one?" "Ya bill give me the full load" "The full load?" "Ya, the full load" My IP and I could not stop laughing until we were gear up after the touch and go.
  23. There are a few apartment complexes near the base that are pretty decent. As far as houses/townhouses go though, the island is the place to be. The new houses on base are pretty nice. I havn't spent a whole lot of time in them, but they impressed me compared to the houses the guys had at columbus. Also, being close was nice in phase 2, but it isnt as big a deal here since there is no flight rooms or formal brief/release. The island has houses with decks on the water and boat slips etc., plus the beach. Its all in what you want though, compared to any of the UPT bases you actually have some decent options depending on what you want/like. If you get selected to come here, try and make a trip out here to look at places during your 2 month break. I'm definitely glad we did. We got here on a Monday, spent all day inprocessing, then all day Tuesday/Wed. doing inprocessing briefs and medical crap, and started Thursday. Some people end up with a few weeks to kill before they start, but recently most people have been starting pretty quick after they get here.
  24. Flamingo's arn't even native to Florida.
  25. I think he is saying he will become their enemy. Does not matter what your position is, if you rep the other party, a lot of people will immediately assume you are a bad person with horrible ideas.
