  1. Roommate. Last ride in UPT, leading back a two-ship form approach from Low-Level check. Told the world I was leading a flight of eight. Also, dicked up 'right vs left' fairly consistently.
  2. AMS sucks...A LOT. Just go in expecting the suck and the worst thing that can happen is it meets expectation. At least you'll knock it out before six weeks of wonderfulness becomes nine weeks of wonderfulness. Try to surround yourself with the good folks and don't get caught up in drama. Kinda depends on which instructor you get - some walk around with protractors and others are satisfied with a head dip. Just do big boy pushups. (The field you guys use has a few dips and mounds that they allow you use to your advantage, as long as it's somewhat in your zone.)
  3. You guys are going to have SOOOO much FUN...
  4. If you've got your PPL and can't make it through IFS I don't think UPT is going to be all that fun. That's all I have to say about that. And that Mistah Jones is the Man...
  5. My AMS class dates are still sitting at 6 weeks. If they've already released dates do you think they'd still push to 9 weeks? Congratulations to all the 2nd Lieutenants!
  6. It took 17 days to hear back that everythings been approved. (Recently went through.) To reiterate some advice: If you are Guard/Reserve rent a car or coordinate with others. WP is a huge base which is subdivided. It's about a 10 minute drive from billiting to the exam site. Also, having a car will allow you the freedom to get out. Definitley checkout the US Air Force Museum, the Presidential/Experimental Museum, and the Wright Brothers Airfield (Huffman Prairie). For good eats/drinks there's a snazzy outdoor mall type thing...on Greene Blvd. If you can, get there a day early to see the above and get orientated with the area. (The front desk will give you an outdated map to the testing site and if left till the last moment you'll be driving cirlces getting all antsy in the pantsy.) Your FC-1 will be administered in the USAFSAM Building 20840 Area B. If you're not given any other instruction I would show up at the test site on day one of your exams at 0700. Bring DVD's to watch with the rest of the folks because there will be a bit of waiting around. Once there try not to stress yourself out. As far as the FC-1 goes...it is what it is. Some guys struggled getting the zzzzz's because of anxiety. Things you can do in advacne are: get down to weight, take care of cavitiies, etc. If you are worried about something see you eye doc or family practice doc to put your mind at ease. As stated before, everyone at Wright Pratt is very helpful and want you to succeed. If you are having issues they will do their absolute best to help get you squared away.
  7. This is what I've heard: AMS - initial background check must reveal no major issues / UPT - Secret Clearance required / RTU - Top Secret required. (However, looks like gbu24loaders experience doesn't support that.) I'd speak with your SQ's Security Manager.
  8. Recently submited my SF-86 about two months after hire and one month after swearing in. However, I completed the AF-24 with my recruiter on our initial meeting.
  9. Hope your date comes through. Thanks LoneStar...I'll keep you posted on the process.
  10. The TBAS is something you can definitely prepare for / ace. (Same goes for AFOQT) I bombed the first time around...did some of the things mentioned above and bumped my score up by 38 points. Interviewed the first time around with a 61 PCSM and didn't get hired. Interviewed the next year with improved score and I know that made an impact on their decision to give me the good word. The nature of the test is supposed to remain sneaky but having taken it once already I'm sure you have an idea of some of the things you can do to improve for the next time around. Everything I did to prep has been mentioned on this thread. Good luck.
  11. Anyone headed over for Feb. 20 FC-1?
  12. They did a deeeeeelightful job for the Pearl Harbor missing man.
  13. Howdy do, Anybody on here have any experience with Pterygium (conjunctiva)? I found the following: "5.3.5.1.3. Pterygium which encroaches on the cornea more than 3mm or interferes with vision, or is progressive, or causes refractive problems." But that's about it. I'll be seeing an civilian eye doc (Retired Military) in a month but was hoping for any information or experiences. I've got perfect vision but just got hired and have been looking for ANYTHING that may give me problems with the physical. Wish I could give more info but the extent of diagnosis has been me looking in the bathroom mirror and recognizing, "This is not like that." If this is Pterygium it would be on the very mild side that I have seen. Thanks Everybody, I run barter town
