  1. Thanks. Never heard the term LMU. Thought USC was the game 'cock' school too until sketch mentions LA traffic.
  2. What is LMU? Limnadia Memorial University?
  3. I think it goes farther than that. There are 535 in congress and 8 in the Supreme Court that can't agree on the color of the sky. Things are more divided than ever along party lines. Our governing documents aren't perfect, but far better than any other country in the world. Just seems like things are at an ideological crossroads and getting worse. The 2 POTUS front runners are the most polarizing ever
  4. Worked directly for him as a MAF guy when he was CENTAF CC. Treated me no different than the carnivores. Expected results, told me (privately) when I didn't deliver and didn't dwell on my past mistakes. Everyday was a new day new jet. Class act guy that I'd work for again given the chance. CSAF job is very political. Budget, budget, budget. Not to be cynical, but no one can win in that job given the political environment and fiscal constraints. It's like being a SOF in AETC, you can't win, you can only hope to break even.
  5. Skip recruiter call AFPC helo dude. He is the guy that brings other service aviators into the active AF. He would know if the program is alive and kicking still
  6. Suit or Tux for me. I don't ever want to be "that" guy living in the past.
  7. Curling--my last hope of an Olympic medal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Some braniac did the math years ago, based on Airline pay scales from ARINC. The calculations I saw (pre 9/11): You can leave the AF at 16 years and a few months and still come out "richer" with most major Airlines. Many assumptions though: - You invest everything above what your AF salary would have been - Retire at 60 (mandatory for airlines--minus FE's - If you had stayed, you took the bonus ($25K/year with the 20 year plan and half up front) - Assumed 8% on your investments over your life. - Did account for time value of money Post 9/11 - Good luck, the airline industry is very volatile and airline retirements are not the same anymore. If I were gambling, I'd say you'd have to get out right at your commitment now and get hired by a major that never goes out of business to make the same amount of cash over your life in the AF (with the bonus) I'm with Rainman A-10 though...day one.
  9. No one. People with the 10-year ADSC have only been out of pilot training for 6-7 years.
