God, a couple years ago at CBM TIB was taking up half of the BX parking lot with their tour buses and semi truck. I made the following mistakes: 1) I drove within 100 yards of the prestigious group and 2) Walked within 75 yards to thy holiness. God, I loved how the TIB SrA went off on my audacity to drive SO CLOSE and walk in their territory. UFB.

Nice story. The T-6 would self-recover. We still learned spin recovery but the boldface called for you to go to idle and neutralize the stick, but it has been a while. If I remember correctly the Dash-1 said applying the spin recovery may aggravate the spin. The T-6 was awesome for formation, IMHO. I remember doing a form ride in the high MOAs and having plenty of power left over.

Absolutely retarded. You shouldn't have to pay to enter the club, period. I honestly am surprised they can get away with that, doesn't MWR funds go to the club?

Yeah, there were some good rule changes and the shootouts are awesome. But I think a lot of the fan base got jaded towards hockey during the lockout, and the NHL lost a lot of corporate and network support. Even some of the fans in Detroit haven't fully gotten back into it.

Yeah, I watched it and it was great. Being from Detroit, I was royally pissed over missing two years of Red Wings hockey. It sucks that you only get to see it nationwide during the Finals. The strike a few years ago certainly did not help the NHL's case.

Yes, it is true Commander's Ranking is 50%, but the rest of that pie chart that they always put on the wall include things like the PFT, GPA, etc. etc. The pilot board gets all your stats. Now, she may get a good ranking, but they don't give out just one slot. It is frustrating to see someone under the Colonel's desk everyday but do what you need to do and get the slot. Good luck.

Come on guys, he was able to save a Viper and himself, and possibly people on the ground. That is fine and dandy, but that does not give him a blanket waiver to blatantly violate our very important and mission critical 2903 that Gunner7 pointed out. Without folks like Gunner7 we would all walk around with morale patches and sleeves pushed up. How can we really be trusted to fly when we look like that? Gunner7 is the real hero of this story.

When I commissioned and got ready to leave for UPT I just had TMO pick up all of my furniture and big shit that I had and then I just packed my truck with my DVDs, uniforms, clothes, tv, and my computer. I figured I would live in the dorms and use Big Blue's furniture. If I decided to live off base I could have my stuff taken from the storage unit that Uncle Sam put my stuff in and use that furniture in my off base crib. Honestly, living in the dorms at UPT was a great time, I would even say it was more fun than college. UPT was not more fun than college but the off duty time was. Maybe it was because I could afford better alcohol. Also have 0400 shows were less painful when you lived two minutes away from the squadron.

I could care less if someone is gay or not, just do your job. Sure, there could be more to this story, but to go 18 years without anyone knowing he was gay, especially the guys he flew with had no idea is really surprising. It sounds like he had a good handle on things, and it didn't adversely impact his job, guys on this board have stated that. I say let him stay his last two years but that is way above my pay grade.

I picked up my copy at the BX today for $14.95 plus they had a 20% off coupon. It is an amazing movie and an amazing story. It is by far the best DVD I have ever bought.

Even over the past couple years there has been a large amount of growth to Warner-Robins. As stated, Watson and Russell are going to be a nightmare trying to get on base. I didn't see anyone reply but the off-base base housing is okay, nothing too spectacular but it isn't bad either. There are a few different floor plans and most are of the duplex variety with a one car garage. For example the difference between the two bedroom floor plan can be pretty varied. It is privatized, and as of a month or two ago they were taking slightly less of your full BAH per month. WAFB Housing The surrounding areas are pretty nice places to live, but I don't recommend commuting from Macon if you meet anyone who has. I-75 from Macon to Warner Robins goes from 55mph-65-55-70. The by-pass is much better but you are still looking around 25-40 minutes to work each way. It's crazy but I met a few Robins guys who were commuting from ATL, everyday. Oh yeah, if you live in Warner Robins you have to go to Centerville to drink booze on Sundays in the restaurants. It is basically in the southern portion of Warner Robins where the Outback is and the new Best Buy. If you are a northerner they have a sweet Kroger. It sure brought me back to growing up in Michigan when I was done in the south. EDITED for alcohol

From the 135v3: Limit climb and descent rates to 1,000 feet per minute when operating near other aircraft to reduce potential TCAS advisories.

Classic Thread - Security Forces (SFS) Tales
Right Seat Driver replied to Ferg's topic in General Discussion
My two stories, not as good as the previous but it adds to the SFism. When I was a stud in UPT I got a ticket for parking over the line that separates my spot from the other spot off the front of my truck. The front bumper on my F-150 was no shit 1/2" over the line. Bam. Ticket for occupying two spots or something like that. Second story is my wife is leaving her Squadron after a staff meeting and stops at a stop sign. About a minute later a SF comes racing up behind her and hits the lights. Said SF asks her why she got pulled over and she has no fvcking clue. The SF guy just walks back to the car with her documents and comes back 45 minutes later with a ticket and tells her, "Lt, all FOUR wheels have to come to a stop." Her response, "How can three wheels of my car stop but one keeps going?" He had the deer in headlights look, salutes and walks away. -
Come on guys, it is clearly a coincidence. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt that those two cadets were the highest ranked in their class.

VC-25 (AF One) and F-16s do some sightseeing...
Right Seat Driver replied to LJ Driver's topic in General Discussion
The times I have seen the POTUS fly into the DTW area he had one AF1 with him except once. I think it was Clinton that flew into DTW with two. -
Like others have said, you can rent airplanes on the weekend but it will most likely involve a high risk activities brief. No big deal. The only restriction I can remember is you cannot pursue a rating above what you already have. I can't remember where it is written, though.

I can attest to the line of sight AF Ball tasking. It is a matter of time before it happens. As of late the loops both the silver sleeve bands and board loops are just put into the pocket. Make sure the tailor puts the silver bands on the sleeve the proper distance AFTER they alter the sleeve length if necessary.

That small piece of fabric should be sewn onto the shoulders, two strips per side, so you can slide the tab under it that Bergman described. If you got it from a base the tailor can usually put them on without fvcking it up too much. If you ordered it from an AAFES catalog you can take it to a reputable tailor and take the rank with you so they can get an understanding on how to sew the strips of fabric in the proper places. Save the alteration receipt and send it into AAFES to get your money back.

Sweet, thanks.
