My fundamental question is where is the line. It’s ok to say NATO in which case your argument is valid. However, If I was a neighbor to Russia or China I’d be trying to buy every Rafale that France would sell me since American assurances to Georgia and Ukraine didn’t work out so well.

If you’re unwilling to trade chicago for kiev than I assume you wouldn’t trade Madrid for Chicago. If that is the case my next question is about the nuclear umbrella? If the answer is no I would argue that is isolationist. Its ok, stay in your intellectually superior ivory tower. I’m merely trying to debate viewpoints and not troll. I think so, the Ukraine is doing pretty well with 80’s era equipment. Not sure how many old retired types they have floating around to replace losses either.

That’s where I think an AVG II scenario is actually a viable out. We weren’t ready to go to war with Japan, but we were willing to provide equipment and pilots that were “paid” for by the ROC. Based upon Russian ineptitude so far 2 squadrons of Vipers and a squadron of B-1s could gain and maintain air superiority. There is my solution to attempt to prevent escalation.

I read your post, it said there is no strategy. So what would flea do? Continue with the no strategy gameplan? Its a legitimate question.
