  1. Finally something the far left and far right agree on
  2. oh, you mean writing "MAJCOM" on some obscure link on AMS in 8 pt font wasn't the feedback you were looking for? /sarcasm 😂 btw, that was also all the feedback about where I stood that I ever got as well.
  3. Pretty sure the Bobs know this. It’s not a simulator.
  4. PTN is experimental. Why hold a wash out against someone when it’s an unproven program?
  5. Maybe everyone could just watch Gen Wills' A/TA seminar: https://airlift-tanker-association.s3.amazonaws.com/Virtual+Seminar+Series/Seminar6-14Aug2020.mp4
  6. You’re right, it’s an unreasonable stretch of the imagination to think that this kid has delusions of grandeur and doesn’t understand the consequences of walking into a riot where he had no business with an AR.
  7. Seems to me that this kid traveled to WI in order to get into a fight he could win with his gun. Strikes me as an opportunity to kill someone and get away with it.
  8. I don’t expect Trump and the governors to work perfectly together. But I do expect that Trump’s own executive branch operate coherently. Wishful thinking, I know.
  9. Yes, and we don't get to vote for (or impeach) our Wg/CCs....it's a thought experiment.
  10. If Trump were your wing commander and managed your wing's primary mission as he's done COVID, would you approve of his performance? We excoriate commanders on here for much, much more competent leadership.
  11. Somewhere in this post there is logical fallacy....(Googles Reductio Ad Hitlerum or Godwin's law) Am I asking too much when I wish a political party nominate a person of at least average moral character? I'm not asking for a saint. I'm asking for someone with average levels of human compassion and decency....and one who has the first idea of how to manage during a crisis. The willingness of Americans to look past human decency in support of their (R) or (D) baffles me. Standing by for the inevitable whataboutist post....
  12. Obama failed to pass a budget? I don’t remember how it went down.....
  13. It has more to do with his blatant lack of morality.
  14. Fact checking myself. I pulled my TR from UPT: 89 hours T-37, 104 hours T-1, 70 hours T-1/T-37 simulator. So, 193 hours in aircraft + 70 sim.
  15. Valid shot. I don’t know how many hours students are getting now. I graduated with 285 student hours in 2004. Would be interesting to know when that cut started and what the hours are at now. I know that MIF from T-1 AMF MIF is lower than when I graduated. And that’s too bad. However, many of the mishaps that have caused these CSAF videos are involving experienced crews (with some tragic exceptions). I do believe we have questions that need to be addressed. But I’m also open to testing new methods of flight instruction.
  16. That’s fair. But every time I hear Gen Wills speak he knows that you can’t replace time in the seat. But I think the pilot shortage is a strategic problem that could render the AF ineffective against a peer threat. Which is the greater problem? I’m not smart on the ins and outs of teaching methods used by PTN but if there’s a better way to instruct than what we’re doing I would love to find it. I’m not convinced that mishap trends today are a result of 20 fewer hours in UPT. I definitely think the AF should research it tho.
  17. I think I remember my Tweet sims had runway lighting. Otherwise it was a dark hole of doom.
  18. We definitely don’t do it quickly, which matters. Although I’ve seen a lot of tech bought and implemented in the last two years I’ve been at UPT. But on a scale smaller than is needed, for example, with legacy sims. FlightSimulator 2020 has better visuals for $200.
  19. I think you get a pass on being a jerk if your name is Patton or LeMay. Some random space wing CC has no reason to be a doosh.
  20. I get what you’re saying, but it doesn’t make sense to give a kid a poster and tell him to chairfly in his mind anymore. We need to leverage tech. The status quo is no longer accomplishing the mission (apparently).
  21. Vance is starting a small group in the AMF top-off soonish using a Banzai flight as a test. Not sure when that starts but I expect Vance to be using the full T-1 syllabus well into 2021 for most students.
  22. The Post Office is in a no-win situation: 1) Explicitly authorized by the Constitution 2) Forced by Congress to finance its own operations 3) Forced by Congress to pre-pay all its pension requirements decades in advance 4) Deliver mail services to every stretch of the county imaginable at rates that are affordable. I think it's a good thing that Trump got the Post Office stuck in his craw. It's forcing Congress to undo the very strings it has used to tie the hands of the Post Office. The USPS could function with a budget of $15bn/year. I see no reason why the USPS shouldn't operate as a government agency under Congressional appropriations.
  23. Sometimes all it takes for Congress to do its job is to have the orange man threaten to do something. Seriously, Congress has failed to act for years on the post office issue.
  24. Q1. Everything else is gravy.
