I really wish that someone who is really smart would do a long term study on the idea that UPT is pumping out inferior students as compared with a generation ago. I've not seen anything other than biased anecdotal evidence that a graduate of 20-01 is really any more or less dangerous than a graduate of 01-20. Of course, I haven't flown with a new copilot in a looooooooong time....I'm the guy grading Stan to MIF so he can apparently learn to fly the ILS when he gets to Altus. đ¤ˇââď¸

I think this is what I'm signing when I log off my annual briefing in MUSTT, no? đ

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but the old adage applies here: Qualified doesn't imply proficient.

Iâm trying to think of a time in my tanker career when a combat sortie didnât end with vectors to the ILS at the Deid..... I specifically remember being taught that rolling wings level and bracing for impact was the best, most reliable tactic I could implement though. Plenty of non-ILS landings in the Caravan in Afghanistan, but I digress..

Like driving, hiking in the woods, drinking alcohol....right?

You went from making a reasonable point to saying religious people should all get together and give themselves coronovirus because theyâre stupid. Not sure why or how you made this leap, but maybe you could try to bury your religious bigotry while youâre making your point.

So why 120? Nobody could have possibly accrued that much at the end of FY2020

I don't think that the nature of business was unhealthy (like it was in 2008 in the mortgage industry). It doesn't make sense (unless you're Apple) to carry billions of dollars in cash, and it certainly isn't feasible for small business to carry enough cash to weather a 2 month (or longer) government mandated shutdown. That businesses are failing isn't the fault of the business....it's because the government made these business unable to operate.

Got the same from the SBA today. $1,000 is about 7 days of work.... Better than nothing, but just barely. I'll be looking into PPP now.

Speaking for my situation, not yet. My state has also not yet made unemployment insurance available to self employed, like the Act says they will. My guess is that the state is hoping that if they delay enough the crisis will pass before they have to pay out any benefits. But thatâs probably overly cynical of me.
-
The legislation also requires that the SBA grant me a $10,000 refundable advance on my EIDL loan within three days. Iâm still waiting. I guess I just donât trust the government to do what they said theyâd do.

For now.

Youâll pay it back on your 2021 tax return. Thereâs no free lunch.

Dan Crenshaw has a good podcast episode on this Mobilize and Transition: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/mobilize-transition-policy-to-defeat-covid-19-restore/id1498149200?i=1000470697169 His guest, Dr. Danielle Allen, James Bryant Conant University Professor at Harvard University, argues that there could be partial remobilization of the economy, especially in regions where the virus is not spreading much, but it would require testing at high levels (5 million tests/day) and would require regular re-testing. Dr. Allen is a political theorist. It was an interesting discussion.

Seems like something that could be done virtually over the internets.

You and the 1,000 coming out of USAFA I presume as well this spring/summer. I hadn't thought about how that would affect the UPT pipeline. That sucks man.

Oh, Iâm with you. He is not word-smart. But heâs going to wipe the floor with Joe âyou-know-the-thingâ Biden. And I happen to really like Joe Biden.
-
I just wish you guys would put up a candidate that has a fighting chance against Trump. Maybe Biden does. But heâs going to look like an amateur in any debate against Trump. At least it appears youâre not going full-retard in nominating Sanders, and for that we thank you.
-
Maybe a democrat can help me understand....why is it that the DNC doesn't realize that (it seems to me) Tulsi Gabbard is the one candidate remaining that could actually go toe to toe with Trump and come out winning? Why is the DNC railroading her when she'd clearly get traditional swing voters and likely many never-trumpers? Is the Sanders/Biden machine really that strong?

When pilots said they wanted a fly-only track what they really wanted was a fly-only-when-I-want-make-O-5-and-never-deploy-and-no-CBTs track. Is there any surprise that the AF didn't develop this kind of plan? AMCs offering was a tentative outreach that never was going to go far enough to keep pilots from joining an airline, which is a true fly-only track.

Goldfein changes AF Song...gender neutral

To a friend we send a message of the brave who serve on high. Doesnât seem very considerate of our atheist brothers and sisters, does it? Honestly, USAFA grads are probably the only ones who know the third verse. How will they replace âat âem boys! Give âer the gun!â?
