  1. There is nothing that says a SR has to give a super P. All depends on the SR.

    USAA

I dropped everything I had with USAA except for checking. There are better rates and value almost anywhere else with savings, investment, or insurance. I like their checking though and the iPhone app is good.
  3. I'd suggest, if you aren't already, getting a job where you work for the Wg/CC. IG, XP, CCE, CAG, whatever.
  4. Because he’s APZ? Isn’t the Board instructed to disregard year group these days?
  5. Then that’s the strongest P push you can get. Good luck.
  6. The reality is that it's a 50/50 proposition that you get promoted to O-5 with a P. Maybe a little under 50/50. With a super-P ('If I had one more DP to give...") it's probably 60/40. I was in your situation sitting with a P (it was a super-P) and got promoted. I've previously posted my PRF in this thread so you can see that for reference. Good luck. The waiting is the worst.
  7. Valid. In a lot of ways I also learned a lot from my fellow students that I didn't have the opportunity to learn from IPs because there were 25 of us and 8 of them. It's a different paradigm than what you got from a PPL where a dedicated CFI flew with you for all of your 40 hours and prepped you and just you (and maybe a couple other students) for your check ride. I thought the Gen Holmes article is an interesting one. It brings up issues I didn't realize (or really care about) not being involved with the CAF enterprise. I hope that this UPT Next experiment is successful in developing more capable fighter pilots. I think it will.
  8. This is technically true. Also, if the board is specifically instructed not to consider in-res vs non-res then it shouldn't matter (in a perfect world). Of course, unless Wg/CCs are also instructed to not consider in-res vs non-res in their allocation of DPs, it is still an issue.
  9. Self loathing.
  10. Kept waiting for crazy Steve Ballmer to pop out from a secret door and start dancing.
  11. Agree that what AMC does should probably be renamed Advanced Tactics School. I have no problem with them wearing a fighter pilot’s patch tho.

  13. https://www.jqpublicblog.com/usaf-accepts-flawed-aircraft-a-week-after-acting-sec-def-former-boeing-executive-is-sworn-in/ 30-year Boeing executive sworn in as new Secdef. 1 week later the AF “accepts” the KC-46 by using a coupon worth $28M per copy. Interesting.
  14. The GTC has never showed up on my credit report let alone credit score. Doesn’t mean Citi won’t send it to collections if it’s way past due. A legitimate inability to pay due to the government’s failure to reimburse you is grounds for IG action I’d say.
  15. It may not be in the JTR but it's DoD policy you nitwit. The OP seemed to be under the impression that if it wasn't in the JTR then he could do whatever. I've seen this policy enforced to varying degrees in my career. Some commanders care, others don't. Personally I don't see the big deal with not using your GTC and getting your Hilton points when you get Diamond with your AMEX platinum anyway.
  16. Reasonable people can disagree as to the true status of so-called "Dreamers." Point is, lots of Conrgresspeople no-way want legalization for Dreamers much like lots of Congresspeople no-way want a wall. So, build a wall first (can't reneg on a wall that's been built already) then grant one-time legal status for Dreamers. Nobody gets everything they want. Everyone gets something of what they want. Used to be that's how things worked.
  17. How hard is it to just do both? Build a big wall then legalize all the Dreamers. Problem solved. I’ll be here all week.
  18. Dang...pick up a few good audio books for that drive....like Stephen King's The Stand....for your 2.5 hour each way commute.
  19. Jeeeezus that’s not what I said. I’m not plugged in so someone with access to the numbers will have to do the digging. Your anecdote does not mean you are more likely to get a 365.
  20. I did the job as a non-vol 2012-2013. I’m not going to defend it. My point is that the threat of a 365 right now is way overblown by fear mongers here.
  21. Oooooooooorrrrr... maybe he know what he’s talking about and is tired of the “sky is falling” self-fellating this board is famous for.
  22. Well, no kidding. Those year groups were highly tasked 5-6 years ago when we had over 100,000 troops in Afghanistan.
  23. What year group? AMC has reduced their rated 365s to 26 down from 47. https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2018/12/21/to-keep-pilots-from-leaving-air-mobility-command-aims-to-get-them-back-in-the-air/?utm_campaign=Socialflow+AIR&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&fbclid=IwAR2EF5j0TuUAKd3mg2iR1tRRYuqhGzdq-prucXwBnGLM51O5WfhBJVdLSPU
  24. Plenty of tanker pilots got short tour credit this way at the Deid. Oh really? Enlighten me. I'm not really even sure what you're trying to say here. Lots of people won't swim in the ocean because of the risk of sharks -- it's irrational. People citing 365s as the reason they're getting out just aren't being rational, just like people who have a fear of flying because sometimes planes crash. They're getting out because they're sick of leadership, low pay, the hollow force...or the ops tempo...., and the airlines are hiring. But they're much less likely to be tasked with a 365 now than they were 5-6 years ago when they were in their first assignment. So, that just seems like an irrational fear to me.
