  1. Day one of phase 2 is my guess.
  2. Look, you can have two of those things. But three?
  3. What is the current delivery status? I'm too lazy to Google.
  4. All engines relit. Eventually.
  5. This thread reminds me of the KC-135 pilot that shut down all four engines on 5 mile final.... and apparently survived his FEB.
  6. I was always confused why this happens. Baseops: "Sir, we need a copy of your flight plan." Me: "Why? I already filed through ______." Baseops: "We need it in case of emergency." Me: "In 10 minutes I'm going to call clearance delivery and they're going to give me a clearance. Because I filed already with _____. Can't you get it from them?" Baseops: "Um. Yeah. I guess."
  7. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
  8. Not the 0.1% he/she was hoping for no doubt.
  9. I have no inside info, but with that push in my Wing you'd be an alternate for sure in today's climate.
  10. Your friendly neighborhood Intel office can look up more direct numbers for DAO/FAO/A-AIRAs, etc.
  11. This always blows me away. #1) There's no crying in baseball. Or the military. #2) What the heck does some guy in UPT know about if his new jet is going to suck or not?
  12. And dispatch gets your ATIS and sends it via ACARS
  13. Are you gonna throw yourself a passover party? Get yourself one of those commissary cakes with Captian rank on it!
  14. Where are your planes and may I count them?
  15. Perhaps for candidates. For selects they really only have controlled when the select attends.
  16. If you haven't been picked up after your second look your SR owes you a no-kidding outlook on if you'll be pushed your third look. If you're #3/5 for your third look you should probably sign up for DL and finish it before your O-5 board. Practice bleeding for SOS ended because of the dedication to sending 100% in-res. That's just not feasible for ACSC which is basically a Masters program.
  17. Well, as we all know, step #1 is recognizing you have a problem. This will be interesting to see play out. Prior to this the O-4 board has represented a giant off-ramp with limited opportunities to regain professional traction. Hopefully this changes things. But, as General Goldfein notes, I am skeptical the Air Force can pull it off.
  18. Wouldn't be the first time JQP jumped to a wrong conclusion and stuck with it.
  19. This is why we only get millionaires in Congress.
  20. Taking inflation into account I am now making the same as a non-bonus aviator was in the 1990s. So does that make me an honorary nonbonus aviator?
  21. This is only true if they sign a new agreement for the higher amount. Otherwise they keep their original agreement of 9 payments of $25k/year or till 20 YAS. If 1 extra year isn't worth the $45k then they won't sign a new agreement.
  22. My take for what it's worth: 1) JQP is the Maury Povitch of the Air Force, shaking the bushes for whatever he can spin to max perform the anger of his audience. I take everything he says with that context. B) I signed the bonus in FY14 (on time, that is, not as early signer) for $25/k for 5 years. In that year MAF pilots were not offered the 20 YAS option. That was only for fighter pilots. The next year the Air Force offered the 20 YAS option to MAF pilots and extended that to FY14 signers. So in effect I signed up for an additional 4 years of ADSC for an additional 4 payments of $25k. The Air Force could have just said "screw you FY14 signed, you get 5 payments and you'll like it." Instead they offered an increased bonus for a additional ADSC. Which is what they're doing this year. Yes, I think the Air Force should offer the increased bonus amount to the early signers. I think the language of the legislation prevented them from doing that without having the additional ADSC. This seems to me to be in line with how this played out in 2014-15. I think the Air Force bureaucracy is faceless and doesn't care about individuals. But on the personal level, I don't think it's staffed solely with people who are just thinking of ways to screw someone.
