How long has the program been $25,000/year? If the dollar amount had kept up with inflation, assuming the $25k/year started in 1997 (just a guess), the bonus would need to be over $36k/year to have kept up with inflation. In other words, it's not really "big money" anyway. I also enjoy my job, but if the price of freedom-to-choose is a measly $25k/year then I'm happy to pay that cost by not signing the bonus.

A little bird from AFPC mentioned the other day that he expects the release soon....as in a few weeks. We'll see. Expect the same program as last year.

Mexican Military incursion(s) into the United States

Economics mixed with politics gets messy. -
We should have punched out of that hole back in 2003.

When I was at Mildenhall we went to the chamber in Amsterdam. True story.

The AMC EFB CONEMP is standard for all AMC units with EFBs. How much you're allowed to bend those rules depends almost entirely on your Wing leadership. -

It's not their job to improve our computer capabilities. It's their job to protect the network. They are over-reacting to the iPads, however, because they never touch the NIPR since they can only be updated through a stand-alone computer. There is an A3 vs. A6 fight going on every day at AMC. -

The current conemp allows the crewmember to turn the lockout feature off during flight so you don't have to type in the password. Just swipe and go. 3.5.3. Upon entering and exiting the aircraft the Autolock and Passcode Lock features can be set IAW the Device Pre/Post-Flight Checklist in Attachment 8. Flight Operations General Configuration 1. The irony is that the Air Force will be paying some pilots to get out while simultaneously paying others to stay in. I personally wouldn't be surprised to see the bonus suspended for 11Ms.

The AMC profile requires the passcode. The only way to go to the simple passcode is to remove the profile. -

So sad. -
The constitution does not require that people check their religion at the door. It does require, however, that the government establish no religion, nor provide religious test for office. This is to protect religion and its free practice, not necessarily allow only secularists to serve in government.

PM sent. Follow-ons were highly dependent on who your assignment functional is. In my case, there weren't very many KC-135 guys in country on 365s, so it was easy to get to the top of the assignment stack, though I think technically they don't have to give you an assignment preference if you were voluntold. Moving the family at gov expense ended sometime while I was deployed in 2012 I believe. There are worse places to live in Afghanistan than Kabul. Of course, I'd opt out if they ever tried to send me back there again.

FY 14 Force Management Program (RIF, VSP, TERA)

Many air advisor positions (helo and FW) still going full strength. -
A primer from the video. It's almost as if he's read the case history of VSP 2011 and 2014 and basing his talk around this experience.

Nice. We should submit the BODN iPad app to the AMC EFB office for AMC-wide approval.

most test sites will have an E6-B. Most sheppardair students have no need to look at an E6-B...

I just finished reading the AIB, though I didn't spend much time on the technical materials analysis or the training folder records. I have not read the privileged SIB. My feelings are that the AIB laid an unfair portion of the blame on the crew for failing to diagnose something they weren't really trained to recognize. The MA had a SYD malfunction a couple months prior to the mishap which resulted in the crew turning off the SYD and returning to base. A piece of the aircraft malfunctioned and the crew didn't have the proper training or resources (the dash-1 is jacked up wrt aero malfunctions) to correctly analyze the situation and take appropriate action. Regardless, unscheduled rudder deflection (of any magnitude) has been boldface in the KC-135 for decades, because abrupt rudder inputs of any degree are extremely dangerous. I was surprised at how quickly this mishap progressed. But for the grace of God go I. "I need vectors to the tanker."

But in this case the dutch roll was created by a malfunctioning SYD, no? The SYD is designed to solve dutch roll not create it, so in this case I think the crew could have only minimized the dutch roll, not stopped it.
