  1. They look at the entire record, your overall career, progression, and increasing levels of responsibility. How did you do at each level and how does that translate into potential to serve at the next level as compared to your peers.
  2. That's not it but I can dig around and find it. Thanks ETA: https://www.amc.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-141202-003.pdf
  3. I am not making a judgement about whether I believe it to be restriction or not since that will come out in any investigation which apparently has already been opened. But, one issue that I am sure the IG will look at is whether what he said had a "chilling effect" upon those in ACC. One does not necessarily have to directly tell you that you cannot talk to Congress or the IG in order for it to be considered restriction. Remember the IG only investigates restriction, reprisal and FWA (and those things directed by CC).
  4. Probably SAF or DOD IG if determined to fall within 10 USC 1034. If so then only IG can investigate. (a) Restricting Communications With Members of Congress and Inspector General Prohibited.— (1) No person may restrict a member of the armed forces in communicating with a Member of Congress or an Inspector General. (2) Paragraph (1) does not apply to a communication that is unlawful.
  5. WTF? What role playing were they doing that led to this?
  6. Go to the ETCA website. The schoolhouse CC signed a memo a while back that directs, IAW the JTR, half of the TDY days at GMR and half the days at PMR. It has been that way for several years.
  7. I don't think you have anything to worry about. They weren't fired because of anything illegal or immoral from the info I have.
  8. H.R. McMaster has done a pretty good job of bucking the system. It nearly cost him but he recently got promoted to LTG. He is probably an anomaly but some ppl willing to buck the system are out there. I got to hear him speak last year and he is still the same guy that he was when he wrote Dereliction of Duty.
  9. Ah, hah. Not on the book of faces and only follow JQP through this site (i.e. Not monitored regularly). I'll go check out his site. Thanks.
  10. Did I miss this posted somewhere? If so, please delete. Otherwise, what is the backstory since the article doesn't say much, other than the standard loss of confidence. https://m.military.com/daily-news/2014/12/30/spangdahlem-wing-commander-relieved-of-duty.html?ESRC=airforce-a.nl
  11. They absolutely do release the promotion opportunity for each board prior to the board. Last years O-6 board was 48% promotion opportunity and DP allocation rate was 15%. The actual promotion rate was slightly less than 48% in reality. This article was posted about a month or so before the Nov board. https://www.af.mil/News/ArticleDisplay/tabid/223/Article/467096/colonel-promotion-rate-to-drop.aspx
  12. O6 assignment cycle is just around the corner
  13. Not a rumor...that list has been out for several weeks. Noticed this bio is over 2 years old. Where is he now? I thought Cool Hand was the current YJ Vice.
  14. Even with a promotion, BAH rate protection applies, somewhat. You get either the new pay grade rate (unprotected) or the previous grade (rate protected) amount if it was higher. Specifically addressed in the FAQs, number 7. With the nearly 10% drops in some locales, this will be a factor. https://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/faqbah.cfm#Q7
  15. Maxwell is down 12.5% for an O-3 with dependents...
  16. I could stand on my head for the length of an AEF. 365s are based on requirement, number of short tours and the STRD. CC's get no inputs and there are no standard fight for your guy to get out of them. You likely happened to be at a point where you were high on the list. Your PC app did nothing to change that.
  17. All good info except this one thing...this is not how these work.
  18. You didn't see me make that argument.
  19. Three things 1) I don't disagree with you 2) this is at least the second year that GO's have gotten zero pay raise, but your point is still valid 3) the previous post...back in the day when BAH covered 85% there were over 500k personnel in the AF so NO it was not easier to live on base back then, IMHO. If you have other facts please post them here
  20. Funny, at my last staff job in the waning days of the Bush admin we were reviewing cases of the "completely innocent" at Gitmo and making recommendations on why someone should continue to be held or not. In many of those cases, the U.S. was willing to release them but no country was willing to accept them. All those completely innocent people with no country willing to accept them...huh? That was several years ago and many things have changed since then but funny how no one wants some of these guys, including their home countries. Something is not quite right in that situation.
  21. yep they will...it depends on the circumstances but that is not what was said. They do not cover routine breast augmentation and their website covers the nuances to what they may or may not cover. https://tricare.mil/CoveredServices/IsItCovered/AugmentationMammoplasty.aspx?sc_database=web
  22. The statement you are referencing is not accurate. Tricare does not cover routine breast augmentation surgeries. Tricare coverage is very nuanced...go to their website and read it for yourself.
