  1. It's not 9-5.
  2. Very little of that 30K would end up tax free.
  3. Thanks for that info. I am not in that mix right now so I haven't kept up with that guidance. That sounds like a good first step in the right direction.
  4. I don't disagree, but Sq/CCs are not and have never been the approval authority for decs. I would assert that functionals have taken over the AF. Commanders are given all the responsibility and much of their authority has been taken away over the course of the last 5-10 or more years. That is really the biggest problem with the AF right now, as I see it. I certainly hope that the CSAF is working on some of this. There are some indicators that he is.
  5. ProSuper, I know you didn't specify but Sq/CCs many times get overruled on things such as decs etc when someone has a failed PT test or some other negative issue.
  6. They can "want" all day long... Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  7. I always assume that they only need that info if they are moving my weapons for me...which I never let them do. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  8. That statement certainly makes it sound like he is slightly "agitated" Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  9. Dude I appreciate what you are saying but we are talking past each other. Go to the AFPC website and you will see that AFPC no longer takes request for records reviews or As Met packages. All records are in PRDA, that is correct. But if you go look you will also see your Promotion board selection folder. This is the folder that meets or has met the board. Go check it out through AMS. How you access your promotion record all changed in the last year or so. But, all of your TRs meet the board. Go check again and you will see that this is correct. Too bad that Chuck took his post down since he can corroborate this info. I am not asking anyone to take my word for any of this...as I said before go to PRDA, pull your promotion board selection folder and you will see what meets or has met the board. This is different from searching for all your OPRs or decs or whatever document. It is a separate folder that is the folder that meets the promotion board. This info is all available on the AFPC website. I said it in the last post and will say it again, go check for yourself. ETA: the folder is titled by the board identifier, IIRC. (e.g. P05xxx) Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  10. Source? I would suggest that everyone go to PRDA and open your promotion board selection folder. It shows all documents that are meeting or have met the board, including your PRF. It does include every TR and OPR. Length of course does not matter. Go see for yourself. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  11. Or until no longer eligible. And that is when you become eligible to complete it via correspondence. The course is only 5 weeks now and they have secured the funding for the additional days required. Ultimately the CSAF has done something good here, enjoy it while it lasts. No, they aren't. Back to your regularly scheduled sport-bitch session. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  12. Except that the law was re-written and no longer makes wearing them a crime. Since this guy was convicted under the old law, they ruled based on that law. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  13. You are correct except when Reserve and ANG forces are ordered to active duty (mobilized), the authority derives from the sections of 10 USC I mentioned above, among others. ETA: https://www.ngaus.org/sites/default/files/Guard%20Statues.pdf Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  14. Not sure about a governing reg but it is governed by 10 USC Sections 12302 and 12304, IIRC. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  15. A little over simplistic...even in that system many of these other issues would still be problems Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  16. That's a whole different windmill to go tilt against. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

  18. Wait, what? All of them are of limited value since it is an evaluation over a short period of time. C-130 FTU is for example is 4-6 months long...why should a DG there catapult you to the top of the heap versus a guy out hacking the mission everyday. Primary duty performance is evaluated 24/7, 365 through your OPR. Eliminating all DGs would take out short periods of performance "surge" graded against only those in your class versus the larger pool of CGOs in your unit. Why not eliminate them all and only allow duty performance evaluation by your supervisor, Sq/CC and Wg/CC documented through your OPR? Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  19. So does any DG belong on a PRF or should we eliminate all DGs across all programs in the AF? I'm talking ROTC, SOS, FTUs, all initial skills training? Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  20. Glad I'm not the only one. Thought about calling a counselor from Military One Source :)...anyway, this has definitely made for an interesting read about some very interesting people. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

  22. Funny, I guess. I use MiCare a good bit for everything from test results to making appts and always get a response in less than 48 hours. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  23. CC directed testing cannot be used for admin actions. Do you mean "unit sweeps" or something else? Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
  24. Actually, you can. I know someone that did exactly that. He was notified of the 179, set a DOS that was actually after he would return from the desert and he was pulled from the deployment. His CC a tried to keep him on the deployment and ultimately had to find someone else. YMMV. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
